"Hint mother fuckers" greatest line I've heard from you yet haha
They'll still ask, no one ever gets it. I never reply to these on principle alone, if one cannot GOOGLE they cannot repair complex multi-layer PCBs at component level.
I saw the first time I watched any of your repair videos. Only issues I ever have are all the different board view programs. Either don't work or have hidden features I find out when I accidentally hit something.
The aluminum tape from your bga video is made right down the road from me. Got a kick out of that.
Keep up the videos Louis they help me a lot, plus always entertaining.
Found every schematic i will ever need :D..Was very easy with the .brd files from using goggle advanced search learn to use goggle properly and you can find any thing you want..I have them for so many laptops now though and other systems handy to keep them all in one place..Took a few hours to collect all the apple ones and all the other makes like HP and acer dell many many more even found iphone ones and other phone ones as well..Was too easy...Totally cost my time and a little bit of knowledge,People need to think out side the box and you will find what you are looking for.
+Muhaa Haloa can you tell me where you got them
Yes play around with Index of /schematics "Laptop" mix it up I've found hundreds.Use google most of mine come from a computer repair shop..There where hundreds in one directory so grabbed them all even with board view.
fixed an old 820-2279A (08 MB K36A) SATA. SATA is simple circuit 5V to HDD and 2 pairs of differential data lines between South Bridge and HDD. Prior owner had a drop of corrosion (probably opened up to oil the fan which now wobbles after losing tolerance) right where south bridge SATA port power source caps are and this differential line path. Took out the caps and a probe pad that broke the data line. Replaced caps + wire fixed the broke line and works perfectly now.
Anyway, SATA channel circuit path is pretty simple :)
My MacBook doesn’t show a destination hard drive when I try to install drivers. Is this a logic board issue you think? Also I can’t get disk utility to open at all unless I go into recovery mode.
hello and thank you for your channel
i have measured 5 volts but mbp still can't see hdd. could it be the MCP79 that went on it? be kind help
You use new microscope? What model is, I use amscope but I want to install the rim led light but in my model don't feet, come with the arm light but for me is not enough.

Hello Louis.
I got a 820-2565 MacBook i got it in the store where it had a bad hdd different hdd worked Like a charm.
Replaced it with a ssd, worked again Like a charm.
Now few days later MacBook came back ssd dead.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance
linux must be using wine then, I thought you used a program from the early 80's lol I am making way threw all your videos :) great job. and thank you
Hi, i have a question if you don't mind.
I have a similar problem.
I have power to HDD though.
Doesn't see the HDD.
Doesn't show the question mark, the screen remains blank, white.
Boots fine from a USB or DVD.
Where should i check?
I have the schematic and boardview.
Appreciate if you take the time to read my question!
Most likely is the graphic chip,
I just want to know if you encounter this problem.
thanks
Hi Louis.
Excellent work and post! I have a 13" MBP 2012 (820-3115) which works fine with a mechanical HD, but I occasionally get the No Entry sign with an SSD. Could this repair work to fix this problem? I already replaced the cable with a new one. Thanks
+Ricardo Licorish cheap toshiba black friday ssd
Thanks Louis, will try it
+Ricardo Licorish Season's Greetings Louise, I'm just double checking before I make the purchase, were suggesting to use a cheap Toshiba SSD or asking if it were?
I use the same solder station you use hakko fx951 what temp you recommend to use for best soldering I am use for normally 250 Celsius, i use hakko fx951 for cell phones too, just my question is that machine when is setup low heat 200 Celsius the machine don't go to the sleep mode when you put in his base but if you increase the heat to 300 Celsius goes to sleep I contact the hakko dealer in USA and tell me is like that 200 c don't work sleep mode I have another unit in any temp goes to the sleep mode.
Your machine do the same?
Thanks Louis and great video
I use 700f. My sleep function works.
For me too is working but when I use 395 f below not working
The guide say when the temp is below 570f the sleep function don't work just I need to to know is that is real like that
Absolutely brilliant at 3:50 :)) OMG, i laughed so hard
My hard disc logic card is hetting how to repeir
Are you running landrex on there using Wine?
Wrong, you're supposed to PM me asking OMGZ WHERE I GET SCHEMATICS FORM TELL ME!!
:p
Yes indeed! Runs as shitty in WINE as it does on the windows 3.1 system this was probably designed for...
Louis Rossmann :D Bet ya get that one a lot! There is a website hosting them. Free! Those who can search will find what they need. I was pretty sure there wasn't a linux version. Thinking of installing Arch and figured I would need Wine to run the exe. I have tried installing other software packages that also open .brd files, but none would open the brd files created for apple boards.
give up and use test link, wine does the job
highly entertaining! I have little clue to what you were talking about (ok, I got 50%), but you are entertaining! :) I guess I'll have to invest some time and watch a lot of other tutorials. Plus, I don't have all this equipment. Oh well. Computer fixes....
how much your charged the customer for this repair?
$325 + tax, logic board repair.
Xubuntu is that you?
do you have your camera person yet? I bet you get a bunch of people before the days out and if not shame on them for not recognising an opportunity.
there is a way to do this using a remote and putting your microscope on the same display as the pdf's. if you want to show components put the board under the scope and just use the mouse to select on the big screen or go between drawing/brd view and scope,,simples.....it is from here anyway:)))))))
Its pronounced "SOLDER" not "sodder"
laptop-schematics.com/ for all diagram ;) yupi
I had someone send me a message the day I uploaded this. It wasn't a troll, I can tell. This is just fucking sad. :(
Louis Rossmann Your videos are excellent- real and no bullshit- just beginning here with soldering and schematics, where should I start? Any particular model of board you would advise to download and practice on? Should I read any basic book to get a general concept of logic board repair (I know you have stated numerous times there is no book or class you have taken/read)? Just looking for some good starting points in general? I have watched most of your videos and really want to start repairing at a board level. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Collect as much broken shit as you can. Do not use eBay to do this. Do NOT use eBay to do this.
NO EBAY!!!
You will get shit everyone else already tried & failed on.
Try to find patterns. Analyze & learn. Good luck.
Louis Rossmann Thanks for the reply!! 3 months ago I opened a computer/cell phone repair shop in CA and the response has been amazing. Anyways, thats exactly what i have been doing, I have about 5-6 2006/2007 macbook pros that have been recycled to me, most have an issue with lcd or backlight, Long story short, do you think I should download schematics for those boards and start there?? Is it worth it for learning purpose? I am just worried that I may have some boards that are notorious for bad video chips. Models include A1150 (820-1881-A) and A1260. PS Fuck L2 Computers
That stuff is all nightmarish shit. No need for schematics. No backlight on 1150 will be the inverter, the cable, or the screen. No backlight on the a1260 will be the screen, the cable going to the i/o board, or the fuse underneath the i/o board. That stuff is not the same as the newer design, and it is completely old garbage that is totally worthless
