The actress playing Helen, Anne Haddy, used to tease the younger actors and try to put them off their lines by going knickerless and flashing her "growler" at them. It always left them sputtering apparently.
The acting is terrible now. Dipi, Shane and their awful son are all such shit actors it’s actually embarrassing to watch them! The rest are are average at best. The last decent actor they had was Sonya so they just had to axe her didn’t they? 🙄
Remembers me the time I was in Bournemouth learning English, it was a very popular soap opera in England by that time. Still remember my English teacher singing neighbour’s musical theme.
This may sound old-fashioned, but I much preferred Neighbours back then, as the storylines were more family-friendly, and the characters were generally good-looking without them all looking like supermodels. There was also Sharon, who wasn't really slim, but also wasn't obese, and she didn't have any problem attracting men. Compare this to Tess, who said if she carried on eating chocolate biscuits, she wouldn't find Mr Right. This was in the late 90s/early 2000s. Later on, Neighbours became more about babes in bikinis, more focussed on teenagers, and less wholesome storylines. Shortly before she left, Anne Haddy (Helen) said she didn't like there being more sex storylines with the teenagers. There was also the ridiculously unbelievable storylines surrounding Sky when she was older - she dated Boyd and both the Timmins brothers, all in the same street....whilst her friend Serena, also in Ramsay Street had a fling with Boyd and dated Stingray. All in the same circle, all dating each other. Yeah right 🙄 It may not all have been believable in the older days, but it was more believable than this. Someone interviewed in the UK in the late 80s/early 90s, said they liked Neighbours because it was brighter than the British soaps like Eastenders. So they shouldn't have changed it.
Actually, my late Nan had Aussie relatives, and she says Aussies aren't as neighbourly as portrayed on the soaps, on the contrary their front doors are gated.
@richallenxbox1976 Majority of Europeans are not Australians they are not indigneos, the Aborigines are the Indigneous, most Australians are originally from England and Ireland so have a very British behaviour tbh.
This can't be right. Why is Scott worried about this woman Poppy marrying this guy Stavros for. Scott is happily married to Charlene why would he take an interest in another woman while married to Charlene. And why isn't Scott living in Brisbane with Charlene aye. I watched Charlene farewell Ramsay Street(Kylie Minogue's last official Neighbours appearance).
Scott was just a friend of Poppy's, they met studying and became good friends. She told him she was being forced into a marriage by her parents but didn't like the man. Scott was just being a good friend trying to stop her making a big mistake. They just needed a storyline for Scott with Charlene gone. But he wasn't interesting in Poppy romantically. Poppy visited Scott to say she was leaving to go back to live in Greece with her cousin, so was escaping the forced relationship. They said goodbye and that was it.
@@pipoo1 no, I'd say by this time BBC were probably just over a year behind Oz...BBC never really took it off much throughout the year whereas it was off for weeks/months during the Christmas period in Oz..so UK would have caught up quite a bit by this period.
Scott clearly has a thing for Poppy despite being married to Charlene. Really Scott. What would Charlene think aye Scott. Think about Charlene. Who you married and who you love more than anything in this world and you betray her like you're doing with this thing with Poppy. You don't know what Poppy wants Scott and what Poppyreally wants is to marry Stavros because she loves Stavros because if Poppy didn't love Stavros at all then she wouldn't have accepted his marriage proposal. You're happily married to Charlene Scott. Remember Charlene your wife in Brisbane. You should have joined Charlene in Brisbane but instead of focusing on your marriage to Charlene you're fixated on Poppy and her relationship with Stavros and her engagement to Stavros not giving Charlene a second thought. How dumb are you Scott Robinson. Just leave Ramsay Street and Erinsborough Scott and go and be with your wife Charlene in Brisbane and just let Poppy and Stavros be aye. You're just jealous that Poppy is with Stavros and not you. Scott just stop betraying Charlene aye. This is an ultimate betrayal of your marriage vows you made to Charlene on your wedding day to her. Charlene finds out about this thing about Poppy she's going to go absolute ballistic definitely and I really don't think Madge and Henry would want to call Charlene and tell her what you're doing with Poppy and Stavros. Let's go back to the love triangle with you Scott,Charlene(after both of you married)and Plain Jane Superbrain Harris.
