      Thank you. and it is easy to grow too! Just really good drainage, plenty of sun and keep an eye out of reverting green bits! It doesn't happen that much, but when it does, just pick them out and you will be able to keep that beautiful color going, and going, and going!!!!

    I live in a warm climate place and once I repotted my tricolors every stem drooped. How can I save them?

    • @OverdevestNurseries
      @OverdevestNurseries  4 роки тому +1

      Sometimes when they grow strongly they produce a lot of soft lush growth that gets droopy. When this happens they can be trimmed back (given a "haircut") and they re-sprout again from the crown. Remember, that the ancestors of these cultivated selections grow on mountain tops and upland areas where the soil is thin and rocky. So they don't need rich, fertile soils or composts like other plants that come from lowland valleys or river basins.

      @@OverdevestNurseries They aren't lush, they look more like they're dying with the drooping stems. I just repotted them a couple of days ago from a compact soil to a fast drying on with lots of pumice and half of them drooped the day after and none were standing the next.

    Hello. I have a question, how old is the plant?

    • @OverdevestNurseries
      @OverdevestNurseries  Рік тому +3

      Thanks for your question.
      The plants in the video are probably around 2 years old. It is quite a fast grower, spreading out to make low, carpeting clumps of about 2' wide, so it is ideal for raised beds and hillsides, rock gardens, beds alongside pathways etc. and it is really nice spilling out and over the edges of containers and planters too.
      Major things to bear in mind of you are thinking of growing it is:
      1/ Really good drainage, it loves rocky, gravely soil (that's why its called Stonecrop)
      2/ Keep an eye out for reversion (green parts appearing in the foliage) this happens to most variegated plants - it is nothing to worry about, you just remove any green bits as they appear.
      The green parts grow quicker than the colorful variegated shoots, so that's why you try to get them early by periodically inspecting your plants and snipping out any green shoots.
      Other than that it is great little plant that should bring you years of joy and pleasure.
