in george’s defense, he didn’t know that meredith had seen her father right before that. george didn’t know that and that was the reason she was upset. had it been any other day she most likely wouldn’t have done it. she was looking for validation from a man at that point and george gave it to her, so she thought she ought she’d give it a try but realized sleeping with him would just hurt both of them which it did. george isn’t a saint in this situation but neither is she. she knew he liked her, he knew she didn’t.

It hurts less if you’re the one who initiated leaving instead of being left by someone else. Meredith has severe abandonment issues that started when her father left. Those issues became worse when Derek abandoned her. Then she saw her father for the first time since she was five years old. And she’s drunk and depressed. George comes in during her vulnerable state and says all these nice things that make her feel wanted and loved. So why is this all Meredith’s fault? They were both not thinking clearly and they are both to blame for the uncomfortable situation. George fully knew that Meredith didn’t feel the same way about him and clearly saw that she was depressed and drunk. How is that not taking advantage? He saw the girl of his dreams in a vulnerable state and decided to get what he always wanted. So why are people like Izzie taking sides and George playing the victim? George is just as much to blame as Meredith, if not more (what kind of person storms out angrily while a girl is clearly crying and pleading in distress)?

I don’t think George deserved Meredith’s attempts to apologise. Yes, she might have known of his feelings, but she was drunk and vulnerable. George also knew she still loved Derek, and that she had no feelings for him. I haven’t watched the show in a while, but didn’t he enter her room? George SA’d Meredith. Whether or not she made the first move doesn’t matter, she couldn’t give proper consent because she was intoxicated. He took advantage of her guilt and depression, and later admitted that he indeed took advantage of her, because “one night is better than nothing.” I don’t understand why victims are always blamed instead of the perpetrator, especially in cases of SA. Can I say I saw Meredith close to her breaking point since this episode. Like she was already feeling abandoned then all the drama happened. It would have been weird if she did pull through all this unscathed. Because all this were just big one emotion damaging cyclone after another.
I live George's character most of the time, but I believe he was in the wrong here. Yes he might have been in a vulnerable emotional state becaused of his love for meredith may of made him think he actually had a shot. However was vulnerable in the "mental health" both in terms of being being depressed and drunk. He should have waited until she was sober and over Derek's. Meredith was not entirely in the right she should have started it knowing she still wasnt over Derek but she was also drunk. And no one should make decisions like this when they're drunk.

So here’s something I’ve never understood. When George slept with Olivia it was because he was in love with Meredith but she didn’t know he existed & in this episode George apologizes for it. Now when George sleeps with Meredith again it doesn’t work because the feelings are one way and Meredith is as everyone including George knows is in love with Derek, Meredith also apologizes. I'm not sure why everyone is blaming George, and someone compared him to Maggie? Seriously. They took advantage of each other. She was lonely and depressed, he was irrevocably in love with her. They were both blinded. Neither have the right to be the victim.
I guess neither have the right to be the victim, but George was the only one acting like one. He walked around mopey for days and made everyone turn against Meredith. And in the end Meredith was the one who apologized even though George took advantage of the situation.

I don’t think George deserved Meredith’s attempts to apologise. Yes, she might have known of his feelings, but she was drunk and vulnerable. George also knew she still loved Derek, and that she had no feelings for him. I haven’t watched the show in a while, but didn’t he enter her room? George SA’d Meredith. Whether or not she made the first move doesn’t matter, she couldn’t give proper consent because she was intoxicated. He took advantage of her guilt and depression, and later admitted that he indeed took advantage of her, because “one night is better than nothing.”
I don’t understand why victims are always blamed instead of the perpetrator, especially in cases of SA. Victims unfortunately always seem to blame themselves as well, as Meredith did.

I live George's character most of the time, but I believe he was in the wrong here. Yes he might have been in a vulnerable emotional state becaused of his love for meredith may of made him think he actually had a shot. However was vulnerable in the "mental health" both in terms of being being depressed and drunk. He should have waited until she was sober and over Derek's. Meredith was not entirely in the right she should have started it knowing she still wasnt over Derek but she was also drunk. And no one should make decisions like this when they're drunk.

Both of them were sad and lonely but some how he started to act like a spoil brat and stop talking to mer for weeks and turned some of her friends against her which was the problem. If anyone is the victim, it would be mer because she was clearly drunk, sad and vulnerable and he knew that she wasn't in love with him but decided to omake or it anyway and then blame her which was wrong hence the reason for George getting the blame.

Now when George sleeps with Meredith again it doesn’t work because the feelings are one way and Meredith is as everyone including George knows is in love with Derek, Meredith also apologizes. Somehow what George did was okay but Meredith was satin. Seriously when is Hollywood going to stop portraying different standards for men and women?

They slept together he knew good and well she was hurt over Derek and decided to pour his heart out anyway and sleep with her knowing she was drunk and lonely. He was so desperate and selfish here and honestly it pissed me off if you truly love someone like you say then no matter what they come first she needed a friend in that moment not a lover. I just don’t see what the big deal is all she did was break down and cry wouldn’t any normal person be concerned? Not throw a tantrum like a child and storm off?
