They've been around since the late 60s, it's wild. They've been going for over 50 years!
They aren’t hair metal! They are one of the grandfathers and pioneers of heavy metal along with Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Iron maiden and a few others. Google it before analyzing randomly

I'm fortunate to have been born in a time that my teen years were the last of the 70's to late 80's when metal was so good. This was one of the few bands along with Death Angel, Testament, Megadeth, Exodus and a few others that kept the metal I love alive with the splintering of music of the 90's that went either depressing or angry. Now it's bands like Lovebites I listen to. Thankfully Japanese metal have kept the great metal alive.

You should hear their stuff after this. I’m not sure if Rob Halford left after this one or not but they came out with an album called Jugulator with Ripper Owens and it almost makes this seem tame.
