- We took delivery of a 2023 model y performance. Tesla dropped the prices so we took advantage of the price drop.We had ordered one for 76,000. This one we bought was 63+ out the door. #teslamodely

Delivery day is the best. Especially when it all go right. I ordered my Model Y backing in November 2021 and a year later I was picking up. I got the Long Range Midnight Silver. I did my walk around and it's an Austin TX build and it was flawless. I had financing don, trade in with Tesla since they were giving me the most...and in the process of streamlining my finances. Then about a month later when the finances were in order I went ahead and paid the car off. So now I'm driving a fully paid for 2022 MY LR and loving it.
To anyone reading this...Just take your time and do what she did...think on it and work out all the details to see if it fits into your life. Hey, it may not be a Tesla. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 are good options as well. Even the new Nisan Ariya is a decent option. But Tesla has the best charging network and a Model Y Long Rand right now is cheap enough that it qualifies for the additional $7,500 tax credit.

Wow we almost drove to Atlanta to get ours but they made us pay $500 to ship it to Charlotte nc! Hmmm the wife hasn’t chose a name yet! Our white model 3P name is “Queen Elizabeth.” 😎

how long did you guys waited when you first place an order?
We had ordered a YP a few months ago at 76K price. it was a 6 month wait so we backed out and bought a 2022 model3 performance. it had like 2k miles on it great deal. then last week we saw Elon drop the prices.....from 76k to 61,500 for the model Y performance! We didnt have to wait at all. This new one was in atlanta for 59,500 before tax. they charged us 500 to ship it to NC. Total cost was around 63,500+.

Question: Though you picked up the car at a Tesla location, you still got charged for 'Destination Fee' by Tesla in your overall cost? I understand its a fraction of total ownership cost but just wondering on it.
Yes i think they charge the destination fee no matter the situations. we are in NC and this was in Atlanta so we also paid $500 to ship it.

What made you decide to get the performance over the standard range? I am currently trying to decide which one to get……
Hi Sylvia. To be honest we like to go fast so thats reason one! We test drove a long range which is 3.5 0-60. we ordered the next day. this was in 2021 when we ordered our first model Y performance. secondly we like the look of the lowered suspension matched with the 21 inch uber turbine wheels and the red oversized brembro brakes. the spoiler on the back is the icing on the cake for the performance. Economically it is not the best choice. I have never driven a standard range and i know you cant build one currently unless you meant the long range. but speed and style are the reason we chose performance. i would by a LR tomorrow and just upgrade the wheels.
