Thank you for this amazing explanation. I´m only a humble owd and at a very beginning of my underwater journey. But thanks to you I got answers for a lot of questions I had. You rock!
Thank You deeply, that was very informative & in an easy way to comprehend therefore teach/carry forward (as you don't forget something you understood not just memorized for exam)
Great review! I’m a nurse that is a major respiratory system nerd and always love to reup my knowledge Tao thanks. Trying to get into diving rn. Wish I did it when I lived in Utila…. 😑
first thank u for sharing that information with us , but i need to ask as a freediver we consider hyperventilation is no approach method of breathing cause it's like a shallow but fast breathing that actually lowers the co2 level and keeping the o2 gaz as it is and once you hold your breath u can stay longer holding your breath with no urge to breath but it can get you blackout because u get no contraction . So is it like the dead space situation or hyper-oxia?
In my mind hyperventilation can also mean extremely deep breathing (hyper meaning too much!). Neither type of hyperventilation is good for free diving. Diaphragmatic breathing is what should be done.

very helpfull thanks!!!!
You're welcome!
If we take real numbers, the dead air space is 0.15l and normal breath is 0.5l, which makes 30% of the air we inhale is dead air. Am I correct?
thank you very very much for this video, you really helpful, keep it up
Thanks, will do!
Really good info but if you could speak up more into your mic that would be very useful
