    I know with Snow Power they will keep innovating that plow or boss will "invent" one too. The tilting board for headlights and aero is absolutely genius with the nitro trips. Just absolute Murican engineering mastery.

    According to the guy from SnoPower on Dirt Monkey's channel, it does have down pressure. The cutting blades actually come down to create the down pressure. There's only about 12 in the market right now

    Love this plow, just like the back blades there are still guys that say its "stupid" This blade is a huge time saver for big lots where you cant always have a loader, looks like its built very well, and amazing how well it scrapes down! the only thing I do not like about these and the back blades are the controllers, they need to put some R+D into a nice handheld wireless controller "not a box with switches" something that is comfortable, easy to hold on to, doesn't look like its from 1999 and definitely no stupid bright lights on the controller! Thanks for another informative Video!

    This does have a constant down pressure.. It’s the nitrogen cylinders that keep that constant pressure... That’s why it scrapes so good and even👍... I would love to have one of these but I’ve had so much luck with my Fisher Extreme V 2 Stainless, and it’s just so easy to put on and take off, as well as a couple other deal breaking features I just can’t justify replacing it... Someday though, I think when I buy my next new truck to add to the fleet I will take the plunge👍...clearing 14ft per swipe with a pickup truck is a beautiful thing, and I’ve yet to see something even come close to that on a pickup... Awesome piece of equipment and I hope it serves you well for many years pain free 👍....

Great video, but if I understand correctly, The SnoPro does actually have a bit of down pressure from the cylinders... Or maybe that's just the newest model coming out with the Side glass wings? Idk.

      There's no right or wrong answer. As many people will tell you, it's all about the types of jobs you have, terrain & snow falls you get.
      In my neck of the woods, I'd take an f12 if I stuck to parking lots and cookie cutter driveways.
      Out in the hills where the driveways get any combination of steep, windy, or narrow I'd take my snowex hdv w/down pressure hands down.
      It's all about application.

    • @galehess6676

      used. go to areas with different winters than what you have. go to an area where they get minimal snow, and you'll clean up on used equipment that hasn't been beaten, just replace lines and maybe rods and fluids and roll on. we nearly stole 4 pieces of v plow, spreader, broom out of virginia/de/md this year alone, because they buy it and it just sits because it's harder to make $ on contracts when customers aren't reminded by 20 snows that they need the service, and so they won't pay. also, go to higher snow areas to get pieces of equipment that are a year old that weren't quite up to the job meyer expanding snow box.

We are in SEPA and get 15 smaller snows and every few years get 20" or 24",and have Hiniker's on our trucks and found their slightly lighter weight poly mold board is probably better on front ends than metal mold boards/Boss. That’s definitely too much weight on that IFS, you’re putting 1200 lbs of plow with about 6 feet of mechanical advantage on that truck, the front end will suffer from this weight especially with those wings picking up only adding even more leverage against that poor IFS. Unless GM made a new IFS system good to hold about 6000 lbs up front you will shorten it’s lifespan. Before anyone replies saying otherwise do a quick search for center of gravity and mechanical advantage formulas. The truck was not designed for that load and it will suffer it because they have overhead built in but the only question is for how long.

    • @galehess6676
      @galehess6676 2 роки тому

      simply: the weight is hanging way out front and that gives the plow leverage which is ALL going through the front suspension and destroying it... why to not oversize a plow

    • @gurgisgutters725
      @gurgisgutters725 2 роки тому

      Respectfully, how many new vehicles have you put snow plows on and used commercially? And I’m pretty sure that when you hook up a 30,000lb gooseneck and hit the brakes, that front suspension is designed to take much more than 6000lbs. I run a boss EXT on a 2019 3500hd and it’s over 1000lbs. My truck drives just as well as my wife’s 2021 gmc At4 diesel. And every other plow truck I have owned since 2009 has been a Chevy with ifs and never had any problems. My 2 cents.

    • @k.b.322
      @k.b.322 2 роки тому

      Many new gm HD trucks have 6000lb rated front axles. I see far fewer ifs front ends compromised than any other. My 08 hd plow truck diesel has 200k plus on factory front end components. Educate yourself.

    • @alexmills1329
      @alexmills1329 2 роки тому

      @@k.b.322 the diesels can get springs to 6000lbs but I think even most plow trucks get about 5600 lb springs other than the crew cabs, and the solid axles up front are much more durable, the steering components around them wear out but never the axle. I work for a company with over 30 GM diesel trucks and buy GM specifically because of the better ride knowing they won’t see a plow. IFS isn’t well suited for the application, it has to either be vastly over sprung to compensate or it will just sag too much and you will hit your plow frame on everything. I’ve owned and plowed with Chevy as new as a 2014, but my Fords have always held up better for that application. Now if you want to talk about which truck felt like a race car, I loved my little Chevy reg cab short bed for that, IFS and all

    • @alexmills1329
      @alexmills1329 2 роки тому

      @@k.b.322 also these plows hang pretty far forward so 1200 lbs plus with a center of gravity and a fulcrum point well in front of an axle will quickly overload it, don’t believe me it’s in your GM manual and they also provide a basic formula to see how much axle capacity a plow takes up given its weights and distances at specific points. I’ve done the math for my plow before and I’ll let you educate yourself on how much strain you would really be putting that axle through, and for the record I’ve yet to see GM rate their 1 ton truck to hold a plow anywhere near the fords ability or rams
