Greetings from Long Island. NY. I stumbled across your cover of Scenes From an Italian Restaurant. Then I found your page and watched your cover of Born To Run. Now, once I post this comment I will be subscribing to your channel. Wishing you all success.
You nailed it folks, it's not a pale attempt at recreation, in is instead a remembering and bring the music and spirit through time to this time where they meld prefectly.
This is fantastic. Read about you guys doing this and was sad I’d never get to see it. Now I’m sad I never get to be a part of it. I want a Wet Hot American Summer style movie about a group of dads trying to recapture the wonder and mystique of youth by winning a battle of the bands. I’m being very demanding, so I’ll add please, and I love you.
So I had a great huge epiphany about my life about two months ago. Feeling good and Running hard at 50. I found you all around that same time and these versions of these great songs done with such talent are the soundtrack of my life right now. Keep doing what you do and thanks for entertaining me since the 90's Gen X.

Ken Marino has been holding out on us. Been a fan for around 30 years and never would have suspected this particular talent. Which isn't to take anything away from the rest of the band. They back him 100%. But dude is a first rate front man.
@@markw110 He's been in a bunch of great movies and tv shows for years. I recommend checking out the show "Party Down" it's a severely underrated tv show.
The instrumentalists in this rendition are INCREDIBLE! Like, I love the singer--he's got a Springsteenian vibe, but it's a lot easier to listen because it's easier to understand what he's saying--but the E Street Band has always been what I've been more entranced by, and these musicians do a great job of emulating them. Not sounding exactly like Clarence and Mad Max and Stevie Van Zandt and the rest, but giving it a hint of their own style. The saxophonist particularly impressed me. I came for 867-5309, and I am SO glad I stayed for this incredible cover of one of my favorite bands.
If you ask me how I feel about this cover, I guess I'd have to respond that I wanna dip my balls in it! I wasn't expecting that and, no disrespect to Bruce, but I actually can make out the lyrics so much clearer with Ken's singing- keep it up!

I've been a fan of The State since the original broadcasts and somehow I'm continually impressed and surprised by the sheer amount of talent that came out of that group. Also, this reminds me very much of a band my late cousin and his wife were in many years ago. I think they would have loved this. And as much as I wish I could send your videos back in time to them, I'm okay with just having a reason to remember them and smile.
