you have absolutely no idea how much i appreciate this. you are a godsend.
I am a big fan of blue jazz, and I am lucky to be multicultural. 3:04
This solo just shows that Oscar Peterson was one of the greatest (Jazz) pianists ever, I can't even begin to understand how he accomplished such a brilliant solo.
Your analysis is impeccable! The presentation on the screen is better than anything I've seen on UA-cam, must have been a hard time transcribing and making this. I'm very glad I support you on Patreon, not only because you deserve it, but because I now have the analysis and sheet music as a PDF. You deserve a lot more subscribers than 2k!
thank you so much Michael!
Man, I can't imagine the amount of work that went into making this, I appreciate you for sharing your knowledge with the world.
The Best Transcription/Analysis Ever!! Thank you so much for this! Edit: Purchased the transcription!
The bass line at 1:14 is so god damn smooth!
I can't even being to imagine how long this took. The depth is incredible and I really like how it was presented.
Loads to work through here, will need many watches to absorb it properly!
I'd love to see more jazz analysis stuff from you, that was excellent!
'Major 7s in a Blues solo? Didn't know that was legal', love it 🤣
I come from a family of Musicians, saxophone Bass piano without forgetting the Drums. I listen to everything because fortunately there is music....
This is a master level analysis of OP's playing here, like it should have been presented in front of a panel of music scholars or something. Absolutely brilliant, and the painstaking attention to detail is just mind-boggling. The musicians out there will all know the amount of time and effort it took to create this. My mind is blown, and I'm looking forward to checking out more of your content. Thank you for the video!
Legit big brain activity
Who ever did this deserves a gold 🏅 excellent excellent excellent 👌 my hat is off to you this is the best UA-cam video I have ever seen
Here we get a glimpse of what it looks like in Hesangasong's head when he listens to jazz.
But this is seriously an impressive video analysis which I will often revisit!
Thank you Yentl!
What a great transcription and wonderful visualization! Thank you for sharing this with us all!
That’s insane the amount of detail you’ve put into this is crazy! I thought I may have just been like a Leon wave type analysis video Amazing work!!
yeah i love leon wave stuff, but I wanted to try something new!
@@hesangasong and it worked out! It’s such a cool format and I love it!!
Oscar Peterson was truly a progressive player with his choices of licks like the famous snek and notes go brr. Incredible
Holy moly, you nailed this! Thanks so much!
Yeah, man! Monster transcription with a lot of information. Great. We will wait for new works!! Congratulations.
Merci...
"Use of major 7ths in a blues solo? Didn't know that was legal."
"Same thicc chords but goes brr."
"I wish I had big hands."
Are my favourite comments of yours
so cool how its the sheet music the chords and everything else perfectly laid out. Great video!
Thank you for this Fantastic job that you did explaining us the 5765 piano notes of this unique jazz masterpiece from the early 60's unbeaten to this day!
amazing work my friend thank you
You’re the ultimate joy and tutorial in jazz and into piano practices of any genre! Thank you!
Amazing. Thanks.
Thank you so much for making this. I’ve always wanted to analyze this exact performance, I’ve listened to it over and over because it’s so brilliant
Thank you so much for this amazing video!
And wow, can we all appreciate the sheer genius of this solo? Oscar is really one of the greatest to ever do it.
This is an incredible video, massive props!
Incredible video; I don't think I've ever seen such a beautiful visualization picking apart a solo like this
This is incredible work you've done here. I feel like someone could just study this, learn it in all keys and have the bulk of skills necessary to at least be able to consistently gig on a local level. Just by having the principles and vocabulary contained in this one jam.
Amazing work!! Really useful! Bravissimo!!🇨🇮 Inside this solo there's practically the story of the blues.
Peterson is the best!
Great job men, really a great job!!
Fantastic work! how you figured out where one was in the beginning was amazing too
Well made! Enjoyed this very much.
Sensational work. Thanks so much Hesandasong!
YOOOOOOOO Now this is proper musical analysis! I love the visualizations man
@@hesangasong sorry for jumping into the conversation, but I was absolutely stunned by your transcription and even more by the presentation. I've been trying to do something (even remotely) similar to this for a long time, but I've never found good courses or tutorials on how to achieve this kind of video editing. I understand that you're somehow feeding the MIDI to after effects through scripting but I have no idea on how to approach it, I just know some basic C# and AE. I'm not expecting you to explain me the whole process, but I was hoping that you could at least lead me to some good resources or tutorials. Thanks in advance!
In any case keep doing what you're doing. Your channel is amazing!
This is awesome! Love the combined midi visualization and sheet music. Instant sub!
This is amazing work, love how you categorized the licks, and the stats are really cool too….thank you so much!
Fantastic, I can only imagine the processes involved to produce this fantastically helpful analysis - thx so much for sharing with us all.
Your composition and arrangements were already previously one my most favorite videos on UA-cam, but this analysis is the cherry on top. I unfortunately no longer have time to focus on music as much as I'd like to anymore, but you make me want to return to composition yet again.
This is truly excellent, super appreciated!
The added "notes go brrr" hahaha 3:24
This is brillaint. This stuff helps amateurs like me to grow. Thanks a lot. Once Again this is MINDBLOWING. Keep doing. All the best
This is very, very cool.
Such an amazing video, props to you man for animating all of this
Oh my glob this analysis is almost as insane as the solo...incredible.
Also...I'm glad your pc survived the rendering!
i got so frustrated i decided to upgrade soon. rip my wallet
Nice transcription! I'm sure it took you a long time to finish it! Well done!
You deserve more than millions views and subscribers
Wow.😮
Ok... my brain just exploded. Next level transcription. Thanks, now I also MIGHT finish to cover the first part xD
This is an amazing piece of work.
impressive work, thank you :)
This is the coolest transcription-analysis I’ve ever seen

Sick work man! Impressive!!
That is quite brilliant. Really impressed. Enough for a PhD thesis. And surely the best ever jazz blues solo?
Excellent work!
Awesome work, thank you!
wow Thanks !!
You are too powerful my dude
I just saw this, amazing, there should be an analysis of this analysis haha, but seriously, i will have to study this to understand this, amazing analysis, ican't even imagine how much work went in to this, i don't think i could be able to do such an impressive job, i'm ceartainly jealous but especially impressed. Hope you're doing well!! :)
thank you diego! Video coming up maybe tomorrow.
Who else loves the time when the drummer comes in with the high hat? I don't care what the song is, it always sounds awesome!
ur maddd transcribing all of this
EXCELLENT THANK YOU
Dude it is just great... pls, do Perdido of him. thx.
The "notes go brr" lick name has me dead 🤣
Excelent!!! Whats the name of the sofware?
That is just a warmup for OP
this is insane
I’d pay for this kind of content
can someone help with 1:18 is it just C, F, A, F, C, Eflat, FA? Not sounding right to me
Is 4:59 a reference to Charlie Parker's "Confirmation"?
not sure, but OP does use a lot of references in his solos.
@@hesangasong Oops sorry, I meant 4:59, not 4:49. Edited my original comment. Anyway, I'm super impressed with all the detailed editing that went into this video. Looking forward to your future videos!
Basically the beginning chords for one of Parker's Blues variations, found for ex. also in Blues for Alice
👏
This is freakin awesome. May I ask how you built out the visualizations, and how you tallied some of the data points in your video?
I also subscribed.

Correction: measure 79 doubled c note
Correction: measure 131 the ghost note is a "C" not an "E"
Ok Chopin, beat that !
I have this sheet music
Dangeres:))!
Could you make it an option on your gumroad store to buy the midi only? I don't read sheet music, I don't care about it but i do have Synthesia and that's all I want the midi for
heya, I will try to do so when I get back from work. Check back tomorrow :)
@@hesangasong Okey dokey!
@@PiotrBarcz Hey just made changes on Gumroad, let me know if it works for you!
