The best advice I ever got regarding clothes when breastfeeding was: get a breastfeeding bra, wear a tanktop on top and then any regular top or sweater. That way you can use all of your clothes for breastfeeding. Just pull the tanktop down a bit and lift your other top up a bit. Voila. Wishing you a good delivery, Laura!
I second this, feeding baby #2 now and I barely ever wear the feeding tops I bought and the above method just works so well and stops you needing to open up or take layers off in the cold too.
I agree , I fed three babies and never bought any specific feeding tops. Anything soft and stretchy works well and the double layer with nursing bra is comfortable and modest.
I did the same with my four kids.. never bought breastfeeding clothes… I always wore a very stretchy vest under my regular clothes and that was it.. I did use breastfeeding bras though 😊
Yes, I agree on the breastfeeding bra. I just bought 5-6 inexpensive T-shirts for around the house you go through a ton of these,t hey are always in the wash. I had warm weather babies in Texas so the those worked for me. I am so excited for both of you!
Baby boy will turn up when he is ready! Boys are lazier than girls. You look blooming, so chilled out and laid back don't stress about anything, babies pick up on that xx

Due date was Jan 18th, had him on the 31st. This year he's 39 years old. My daughter was due June 18th, had her the 30th. This summer she's 31. Hope your delivery is smooth & trouble free. Love these updates!
Honestly when you were in the bed making the mobile, which is beautiful, Otto looked like he was living his best life, laying out on the bed with mum in the daytime❤

You have likely already thought of this, but each time I was pregnant, I bought a few pairs of new pretty pjs to wear post partum. I lived in these for the first couple of weeks, and it definitely sends the message that mum is resting! As for nursing, you will find that any chunky sweater will be very frustrating to nurse in. Breastfeeding positioning is an art and requires you to be free to properly position baby at the breast, without fussing with a sweater falling on babys face. Eventually you will be a pro and will be able to discreetly nurse in pretty much anything, but at first it makes sense to wear easily accessible and non-bulky clothing. Love, a mum of six ❤
For breastfeeding in the winter, I loved wearing a bf cami under a sweater. So you can just pull up the sweater and the cami is covering you belly so it's great when other people are around. I loved that I could wear my regular clothes when I figured out this hack!

Hi Laura, Ollie and Otto, thank you for your update, my son and daughter in law had a baby photo shoot, it was all their shoulder height, little Oliver between them, they both wore white it was printed in black and white, Oliver just had a nappy on but you couldn’t see it - and it was summer 😁House looks gorgeous. Shawls and pashminas are really handy to have when breastfeeding if you go out, all the best

I was told that I'd have to be induced but on the day I was meant to go into hospital everything happened naturally. He's just enjoying having some more time with his mummy before the Big Day! I’m 31 weeks pregnant and you’re making me so excited for the arrival of my little boy too! Nhs have dated me forward as well and baby has been tracking around the 90th as well, but I won’t consider myself overdue till at least 2 weeks after my date, need to see this nursery!!!
I wish you all the very best for your new baby. I know this may be a bit controversial, and I only mean to be kind and not annoying, but both my sisters have been midwives for 30 years, the one thing they both said was how they dreaded delivering babies post 41 weeks. They were often more difficult deliveries, and the babies were slower to respond and breath after birth. Please ignore me if your mind is made up, I didnt want to be nasty, I just wish for a beautiful healthy baby and great delivery for you. God bless.

Im also very well researched on the process of physiological birth, usually problems like that occur then there has been interventions such as inductions, sweeps, medical pain relief etc in the past 90 years we very much treat the woman’s body like a ticking time bomb waiting to fail at the end even though it’s spent 9-10 incredible months supporting the growth of a human, hospitals and medical teams so keen to get baby out when the arbitrary timer is ‘up’ which is sadly why c-sections are creeping up to 50% of all births 😢
@@BumblebeeBluejay Yes, it's a hard balance, I've had 6 children, and if I didnt have a c sections with my 2nd one, we would both have died. For that I am so eternally grateful for the care. And although I agree that c sections are probably done far more than necessary, the heart behind is for a healthy baby at the end. The rate of still births over the last 100 years has plummeted due to good anti natal care, and sometimes early intervention. But I hope you didn't mind my comment. I truly didnt mean to upset you, and wish for you a beautiful healthy baby.
A tip on breastfeeding attire❤ I've nursed several and never bought actual clothing for breastfeeding. I highly recommend good nursing bras, nursing tanks and loose tops or tops with buttons to simply lift up (with a tank under to cover the tummy) or open easily. Things that you can continue to wear as regular clothing items. Good luck to you ❤

I had the prettiest tops and things I thought I’d wear postpartum and I literally wore leggings and sweats for months. Enjoy the nesting and glad that you got your bathroom finished so you can have a relaxing bath. My two children were late. It did get a bit frustrating when people kept on asking if he had come yet! I had to be induced with my second, but labour was much quicker. Beautiful mobile as well!

You asked for suggestions to get him moving, I used to scrub my large kitchen floor on my knees with a large cloth and scrub bucket. The next day I had my son at 7:30 in the morning in the back seat of our car in front of the hospital. The labour only lasted an hour, I guess all that movement moved him along.😊
Well done with all you have done and accomplished especially in these few weeks. My daughter was almost 2 weeks overdue, but because she was a big baby ( 8 pounds and few ounces) they were afraid it wasn’t enough water for her so they induced me right away and 32 hours later she arrived healthy and perfect! I’ll pray for a beautiful and painless (as little as possible) delivery for you! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🥰🥰🥰

So Happy seeing your Post....Yes, walk, walk. My daughter was 2+ weeks past Due date....finally went to Gym(worked out thru pregnancy)declaring wouldn't stop exercising until Labor started .Many hours later....it worked! Healthy Girl@almost 11 lbs. Best on the Joyous Adventure ahead❤

I love those classic little baby clothes too. That’s how I dressed my babies ❤. One of my babies was 2 weeks earlier than my due date, and one was two weeks past my due date. Just try to relax and let him come when he’s ready. Easier said than done, I know.

So excited for you! For clothes I mainly do "one up one down" in winter, so bf bra or tank top with the clasps and any top, but this time i did get t shirts from h&m that have a lift up panel as with cardigans I have a little more privacy when out and about. Jojo have similar ones but i find mine very thick and boxy. If you find yourself babywearing a lot, I have likes having a sweater with zipped pannels so I dont have to be lifting clothes up when shes in the sling (but i didnt even think of feeding while wearing my first, but its unavoidable this time 😂). The flowey, elasticated at the bust dresses you love are great for feeding. Enjoy the snuggles, the tiny noises and the little smiles as he sleeps when he arrives ❤

Don’t stress about what to wear post partum! I wore my maternity leggings and jumpers for months. Don’t put pressure on yourself, just enjoy a comfy, wonderful, magical bubble once the baby is born ❤ Good luck!

So excited for you❤ Any shirt that lifts up over your breast is considered a nursing shirt. Baby doesn’t care. T-shirts were my favorite, you just pull it up when you’re ready to nurse❤️ the hardest part was not leaking through every shirt that I wore. Nursing pads help, my favorite was the brand that had a plastic backing so the milk doesn’t leak through. You’re going to do great. Nipples will be sore for the first month but push through and hang in there, it’s so worth it❤ sending prayers your way❤

So lovely to see your update Laura. Makes me remember the excitement of getting ready for my babies coming too. I also had a January boy. Came a week after my due date and turning 16 this month. The gym ball was great to use in labour at home. The mobile is so sweet. Good luck, so happy for you both.

You asked for suggestions to get him moving, I used to scrub my large kitchen floor on my knees with a large cloth and scrub bucket. The next day I had my son at 7:30 in the morning in the back seat of our car in front of the hospital. The labour only lasted an hour, I guess all that movement moved him along.😊
Well done with all you have done and accomplished especially in these few weeks. My daughter was almost 2 weeks overdue, but because she was a big baby ( 8 pounds and few ounces) they were afraid it wasn’t enough water for her so they induced me right away and 32 hours later she arrived healthy and perfect! I’ll pray for a beautiful and painless (as little as possible) delivery for you! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🥰🥰🥰

So Happy seeing your Post....Yes, walk, walk. My daughter was 2+ weeks past Due date....finally went to Gym(worked out thru pregnancy)declaring wouldn't stop exercising until Labor started .Many hours later....it worked! Healthy Girl@almost 11 lbs. Best on the Joyous Adventure ahead❤

I love those classic little baby clothes too. That’s how I dressed my babies ❤. One of my babies was 2 weeks earlier than my due date, and one was two weeks past my due date. Just try to relax and let him come when he’s ready. Easier said than done, I know.

So excited for you! For clothes I mainly do "one up one down" in winter, so bf bra or tank top with the clasps and any top, but this time i did get t shirts from h&m that have a lift up panel as with cardigans I have a little more privacy when out and about. Jojo have similar ones but i find mine very thick and boxy. If you find yourself babywearing a lot, I have likes having a sweater with zipped pannels so I dont have to be lifting clothes up when shes in the sling (but i didnt even think of feeding while wearing my first, but its unavoidable this time 😂). The flowey, elasticated at the bust dresses you love are great for feeding. Enjoy the snuggles, the tiny noises and the little smiles as he sleeps when he arrives ❤

Don’t stress about what to wear post partum! I wore my maternity leggings and jumpers for months. Don’t put pressure on yourself, just enjoy a comfy, wonderful, magical bubble once the baby is born ❤ Good luck!

Good luck Laura, enjoy the time before birth as it is the last time you will have babe all to yourself. I went two weeks over and in the end castor oil was the only thing that worked to get things moving 🥰

Bshirts are the best for breastfeeding. Those with a cardigan over the top - that worked for me this time last year when I had my baby. Best of luck!

So excited for you❤ Any shirt that lifts up over your breast is considered a nursing shirt. Baby doesn’t care. T-shirts were my favorite, you just pull it up when you’re ready to nurse❤️ the hardest part was not leaking through every shirt that I wore. Nursing pads help, my favorite was the brand that had a plastic backing so the milk doesn’t leak through. You’re going to do great. Nipples will be sore for the first month but push through and hang in there, it’s so worth it❤ sending prayers your way❤
