LOVING THE SHEET CHAT ❤ putting about 3 sheets on the bed makes it even more comfortable and protects the mattress. Could talk about this for hours! 🛌🛌🛌
I put an old sheet underneath the mattress, then another sheet over the mattress, then a mattress topper, and finally my bottom sheet. Is this overkill?

Why iron a fitted sheet, it's going to be stretched anyway. I used to iron all bedding years ago but don't bother now. If duvet covers, sheets etc get folded once dried outside on a washing line( yes old fashioned way lol), they won't need ironing.
Try 7 parts water to 1 part Dr Bronner’s peppermint oil soap in a spray bottle on your box plant. That usually does the trick.

I bought the succulents from Lidl about 4 years ago and they are still alive with lots of babies.

My brain is weird when I saw the lampshade I thought put a tumbler inside and use as a vase or tea light holder. Love the tiles they are reminiscent of old delft tiles but stylish
Put a fitted sheet over the topper as well, then just need to wash that one when you change the bed!
Oh .. also don’t forget to lip the flat sheet over the duvet for that immaculate hotel look🤗

Fitted sheet chat 😁 Now I have to ask the age old question "Can you fold a fitted sheet?" Who can and who can't? What a conversation starter! Lol 😄
Use polystyrene as a the crock in your pots, it is free draining and light, often plants will come in polystyrene containers, also you need to have the succulents much higher up, try to mix your soil with sharp sand for added drainage and water very infrequently, if at all as these plants live in very dry conditions and like cacti take a lot of their water from the air. Neglect is your friend here.
Try a few drops of dish soap in a spray water bottle on the plants you think have eggs, should take care of them. Once the caterpillars are out it's too late so yes, think you should get rid of them.

All this sheet and mattress talk brings back memories of my old job. We spend 25 years of our life asleep. My own sleep schedule is messed up, I can go to bed at midnight and sleep for an hour then be wide awake til 5am and wake up at 2pm - its nuts.
I need to sort myself out and it is about time that I fully erased the previous owner of my house (I am sure her spirit still visits because I sometimes smell Parma Violets or Youth Dew perfume in my house).
There will be a new kitchen, new fireplace and fire, new French doors and some new windows and carpets. I will have to start getting some home design mags too.

Hi! Sheet chat.. To protect your topper just buy a fitted mattress protector, (Ikea, asda ). Then put on the new fitted sheet. I also use a flat sheet under the duvet cover so if I'm hot I can throw off the duvet but still be covered by the flat sheet. Who doesn't love sheet talk! 😆 Love your vlogs. X

Tip for your garden pests I’m sure you have heard of
chop garlic cloves up & put in a spray bottle & fill with water longer you leave it stronger the smell & most insects do not like smell of garlic & it’s totally organic works a treat & will not harm pets
You need a pair of gardening gloves! 🪴
I read that you can get rid of caterpillars by spraying the plant with vinegar water. 1 T to 1 gal. Water. I'd Google the measurements though. Banana water helps plants blossom. One peel in jar of water for 5? days. It really works.

Hey Iwan! Oh those poor boxes. You need to get yourself some pyrethrum natural insecticide. It kills on contact and leaves no residue ( so safe for the cats.). The roof garden (besides the boxes) is looking really good. Especially considering the heat you’ve had. Hope you had a lovely weekend, Cheers & all the best ,Peter.

I love the look of Positano and the Amalfi coast and really hope I might eventually get there one day! Costco has their Kirkland brand sheets, a bit of an investment,but worth it. All we've used for years. You can also pick up a nice cart to take on your shopping adventures. It folds right up. Luke will take you,he's looking for a cart❤

Check to see if you can find a fitted sheet elastic brace. It has clips that attach to the sheet and go under the mattress for a tight fit.

Ake a washing up liquid spray for the box plant. It will soon get rid of any caterpillars.
The box caterpillar is a problem in London at the moment. Have lost 2 bushes but found 2 artificial ones to replace them until the problem subsides! Tiles are great. A stretch jersey sheet works well as a mattress cover with a mattress protector on top, then the sheet.

Love your mattress, so tempted to get a topper. Had a result yesterday in Oxfam in Chester. BNWT Zara white Egyptian cotton quilt cover and pillow cases for £20 (still on Zara home website for £110) they had loads of Zara stuff so think they may have a deal with Oxfam. Love your videos. Can't wait to see your kitchen xx

I'm sleeping very well myself. Thank you for asking 😅😊 This summer weather is kind to me. I don't like heat. Best summer this year weatherwise.
I've been an insomniac for 20plus years, getting a maximum of 1 to 2 hours a night. I got an Emma mattress about 3 months ago and although I still don't get full night's sleep (7 to 8hrs) I do now regularly get 4 to 5hrs.. which is a win in my book 👍

Sorry if someone else has already said but we had the caterpillar problem on our box plants and there is a spray you can get to treat them if you want to try and save the plant.

Rather than throwing away the box plants, try cutting the plants right back that way you would get rid of a lot of the eggs.
Box caterpillars completely destroyed my neighbours low hedge between our drive ways in just 3 days. There were 100s of caterpillars on the backs of our cars, the drive, the path and literally just dry, naked twigs where the hedge had been. She was away and by the time we realised where the caterpillars were coming from it was too late to save the hedge. It’s a massive problem if you don’t catch them early. I would get rid of the plants, if you can’t pick them off quick enough, and replace with something else.

I have fibromyalgia my sleep is erratic or non existent! Often go to sleep at 4/5 am sleep till 11! Drives me mad!

Hmm, I'm thinking of a new mattress topper now....that one looks very comfortable! Loved the succulents in those gorgeous pots too. What a shame about the box plants - those caterpillars mullered some of my plants this year too! Just a thought for the lovely capiz shell lampshade - what about a string of battery operated lights, bunched up inside? Primark do them for £1.50, and they have a timer so they switch on and off, after about six hours. Cheers Iwan!

Perfect vlog for a relaxing Sunday. Your garden is so pretty, just think of the box plant as the sacrifice plant, I grow roses and one always suffers with aphids but it keeps the rest healthy. Loved the vlog. My local laundrette closed last summer for cost reasons. I often used it for larger loads or for drying loads quickly.
