That tape is not going to last, use (Gorrila Tape), it's stronger to hold firm or (O-Rings) to stop the wheel wobble, some hobby shops have them, cool mods to help, and it's very useful.
I just picked up this New 4tec Stingray looking for any tips. Great Video thanks. I looked on Traxxas website for Aluminum parts and couldn't find any. What brand aluminum parts did you add? Thanks.
Just asked this. Found the gpm website. Some can be used on the factory 5 cars, some can't. The factory 5's seem to have their own lower control arms, a slightly longer battery retainer as well. The wheelbase is maybe 2mm longer than the stingray. So, if anyone has it, check traxxas part finder first to see if its the same part.
So far, the factory 5 cars use different upper shock mounts, lower control arms, body mounts, battery retainer, So, on mine, those will have to stay traxxis stock until someone does aftermarket parts for it.
Unfortunately you have to do some tests. You want to gear so you are at top speed about 30 ft from the finish line. I’m not sure what gearing to start with.
@@GoKaioken I’m having some weird vibrations between 40-80% throttle. Brand new center driveshaft. With some shimmy’s to keep it tight. Still getting vibrations :// maybe it’s the bearings?
@@GoKaioken what did you search for the shims, and my son and i have a car each, i see this front and rear, will this fix work for plastic hubs, we run a spec class and aluminum isnt allowed
Man I love how detail you are with this car
Try the green locktite made for bearing installation.

I have the stingray with a 540 vxl3. It’s not the bearings. It’s tsm if u have it. Has to be off or very low.
Nah, I have mine on, and it works fine.
Thank for the info
Where are you getting your aftermarket parts?
what brand servo piece is that
Nice mod i will have to check that on my speed car it has some crazy steering sometimes
You think traxxas will release the TSM version of this soon. Hate to buy now if they gonna soon🤦🏼♂️
TSM causes the wobble as I have it. Has to be super low or off.

Many are GPM.

What about your driveshaft on 70% throttle. Are you getting any vibrations?
Not that I am aware of - seems good at 100mph! 👀

It’s definitely worth changing them out to see if it fixes the issue.
That’s a great idea
One would think if you removed the grey plastic rotors and replaced with metal hubs that would help.
Where did you get 1mm shims?
Searched on Amazon

Dam that's awesome...I'm doing it
A little silicone gasket maker would do the job
Hey another tip...grab 9mm hexes
