In this video, we'll use the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise to create a high accuracy 3D model of a vacant pharmacy. Join me as I walk you through the entire process, from flying the drone and collecting imagery to processing the data in DJI Terra. Learn how to set ground control points, ensure precise geo-referencing, and generate impressive results. Stick around until the end to find out how you can win three free months of DJI Terra! 👤 Meet the Surveyor:
Hi there! My name is Rami Tamimi and I am a passionate surveyor and geodetic engineer. With over 10 years of experience in the land development industry, I have a wealth of knowledge to share. That's why I started my own UA-cam channel, educating others about the surveying and geospatial industry and showcasing exciting new technologies. Follow along as I share my expertise and keep up with the latest innovations in my field.
#DJITerra #photogrammetry #dronesurveying
A quick question. We use the same drone for photogrammetry and it's fantastic. However, I remember reading that "dewarping" should not enabled (it's on the final screen before launching the mission). I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Take care!
True! Quite a few inaccurate comments made and also poor explanations like AFC. The M3E will always default to MF once the flight starts as you see in his video and then it cuts to it in AFC mode during flight. Those who are new can’t learn if the tutorial is wrong in the first place.
Great video I swear down I learn more from you than my actual uni … keep up the good work
4:35 ISO 100, 1/1000 shutter, F 4.5.
It looks cloudy and I don't see any shadows. It's amazing that there's enough light for those settings. I guess it was just a medium overcast but still very brite.
Perfect conditions ❤
That 3D model photgrametry outcome is really amazing..
Another great video Rami, I love your work, and always learning from you.
Did you used a base station? Emilid?
I mean to be able to connect to the RTK?
Perhaps you have used Ntrip?..or something else, thanks 🙏
Impressive. Great video 🎉
Great video, Rami. Currently evaluating Terra for a very similar project. Would be interesting to see how you would combine the oblique area route with a slope/facade area route in the case where you're capturing a taller building and evaluating the facade condition.
nice too meet you, Rami. perfect dji-:))
perfect explanation. many thanks!
Great video Rami!
Great video! Enjoyed watching it a lot and now I wonder if I should get a M3E, too... 🙂
NICE VIDEO THANKS 👍
can you explain more on Cluster computation, in my case the image we get are more than 20k, and it takes a lot of time to process, is the cluster can help?
Great video Tamimi, Thanks, Im actually doing some practice with a cheaper dron (dji air2s), a Total Station and using Metashape Agisoft., but this one from DJI looks great.
Texting from México.
Yeah DJI has done a really good job with the aerotriangulation!
can you use lidar from DJI to get super accurate images?
Very good
I didn't notice a base station on-site. What was the RTK connected to?
Probably Ntrip network
What is the output for the client? How do they view it after it's processed in DJI Terra?
😂 that the catch.
Processes most beautiful models imo
Very , large files , difficult to share. Supposedly you have their dji modify software you can do it a little easier
@@LearningInVR If you are a client that are paying a lot for 3D models then presumably you will know how to use them and know which format you need them in.
hey Rami, Your mission only captured the top, how did Terra reconstruct the sides of the buildings? did you have to do a manual flight to capture all the elevations?
Go to 2.31 minutes in the video. He shows making the settings oblique.
elo sir Rami, dji terra have GEOID from malaysia (wgeoid04)? and when use oblique collection must enable gimble angle 30 degree and dewarping?
i wish i could do this with the mini 4
How do you get around the flight over moving vehicles in the street with your flight path?
If the traffic is stopped at the light or there isn't traffic on the road at that time you can fly over the road. You can also fly over the road if you hit gaps in the traffic.
The regulation is for people in a moving vehicle.
As long as it's not moving or it's not directly beneath the drone you're good to go.
Smart Oblique Vs Regular Oblique? I think Smart oblique is too taxing on the motor and data is better off with normal oblique. What do you think?
Why would it be too taxing on the motor?
@@conorstewart2214 When i used smart Oblique, motor got hot a lot.
Rami, are you working with DJi Terra Pro?
Yes I am!
You mentioned accuracy within 1 hundredths of a foot. But the heading was in meters (m)?
@@imadroner yeah the heading is incorrect. It was fixed in DJI Terra version 4.2
Rami can we get the data set please 😊
@@digitalassets701 we offer datasets for download at thesurveyschool.com/ 😊
@@RamiTamimi Thank you so much
If you're impressed with this model you should shoot in RAW and process it in Reality Capture.. Your head will explode 😁
Using RAW for photogrammetry is not efficient 95% of the time, JPEG has enough information to get extra details on shadows and highlights, RAW might be only useful if you want an artistic touch to the model.
@@designer.346 maybe if you just want to make a "preview" model with a drone. But if your aim is to create a very high quality, very dense model (digital twin), you shoot RAW, because there isnt much you can do with a jpg file. You can get like 30-50% more data just by decreasing highlights and bringing up the shadows.
