I love Sissel's performance of Slow Down. I could feel her sincerity and listen to that rendition often. Thank you
I was there. One of the most moving moments of my life.
I listen to her presentation of the song "Slow Down" with the MTC every night before retiring. I have to say that it is the most powerful performance of song and music that I have ever heard in my entire life of 71 years. When I first heard it, my breath stopped and I felt my spirit soar like never before!
Sissel, my Auntie was in the audience when you sang at the Temple 13 years ago,, she told me that she felt deeply touched by you. She is gone now, but I can't forget how deeply she appreciated your performance.
It was such a magical night, that first night's reaction to "Slow Down". It was a privilege to sing with you. I'll never forget.
I was very glad to have been able to attend that concert. It's hard to describe in words what happened there. You mentioned in this video how the song "Slow Down" was very special. Well, up to that song in the concert It was a wonderful experience but all of a sudden during the first few lines of that song you got my attention! Yes your lips were moving and I could hear your beautiful voice with my ears but that was no longer relavant. It was like my soul and my heart were being addressed directly. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful moment with everyone!
lovely Sissel.. gentle,loving voice...you are a treasure
Sissel, i love many of your songs, but Slow Down has become my faverote.
Dearest Sissel, that song’s message is one of the pillars of our faith. We must listen to thst still small voice. Beautifully delivered.
Sissel: and those of us lucky enough to be there that night will "always remember that", too. I've been going to concerts for over 60 years...and that single song (Slow Down) was a moment never to be forgotten.
One of the Great Moments in Musical History.. Lovely.. of Good Report and Praiseworthy...
Hearing Sissel admit to being moved almost to tears by the song “Slow Down” is a relief to me because her performance of the song invariably moves me to tears! Invariably.
I will always remember that too. What a gift to be in that audience that evening and hear Sissel. It was a moment of glory and deep connection.
May God look after Sissel and her angelic voice.
I was there July, 2019. Sissel is the very best guest artist of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir & Orchestra at Temple Square. Beginning when she first appeared for the annual Mormon Tabernacle Choir & Orchestra at Temple Square Christmas concert back in 2006!!!
I will always remember that moment too!! There was a tangible spirit in that huge auditorium!
Sissel, Slow Down is an amazingly moving and beautiful song, and your delivery of it, is as though our Lord God is speaking directly to us, through you! Thank you for your beautiful instrument!
Dear Sissel, our Angel! I cannot find the words to express my grattitude for this magical performance of Slow Down. I am sure that God was very happy to hear your singing like we all on the Earth. With this prayer you made us possible to be close to God and feel His endless love. Thank you.
🙏🙏🙏
This was not JUST a "performance". It was a ministration by God - with His Spirit working through a yielded vessel who was pleased to allow Him to use the tremendous, other-worldly gift and talent that she was given so that God might express His Love and Peace to a hurting, broken world !!
Listen to her voice - perfect in tone, pitch and cadence - drawing you into that STILL, quite place. Look at her face - the embodiment of peace, calm, love and joy. See how she uses her body-language and the gestures of her hands to calm, soothe and direct. Throughout the song, but especially at the end with her hands folded over her heart in prayer - she is transcended into the song and into the presence of God, beckoning all who are there to come join her. God is beckoning to ALL who will hear, "Come, be still before me, find the peace that you yearn for, and KNOW that I am God!!"
This "Spiritual Journey" was NOT lost on the orchestra, choir or the audience in attendance. They may not have known EXACTLY what it was that they had just experienced, but they DEFINITELY knew that it was something that transcended everyday experience. They reacted by the standing ovation that they honored Sissel with !!
Thank you, Sissel. Your spoken words often touch me as much as those you sing.
What a singer! Thank you Ms. Sissel!
She is absolutely amazing, I listen to this song every day, just love it!!
the first time I heard you sing Slow Down , was during this performance . it was that moment that I knew this video would be played at my memorial service . so , thank you in advance
"Slow down" : Exceptionnel...
Sissel est exceptionnelle.
Elle a subjugué son auditoire.
Bravo, mille bravos.
Sissel, I feel so blessed to hear your voice! My favorite Christmas album is always your concert with the Tabernacle Choir. I have shared the experience that you've had to stand between the choir and the orchestra, since I've played as a member of the Bells on Temple Square. It is definitely the best "seat" in the house, and sometimes I try to just "slow down" and take it in and realize what a blessing it is to be a part of the spirit of the music and feel the Holy Ghost emanate through the whole auditorium, whether in the Tabernacle or the Conference Center.
I was also there that first night when you sang Slow Down. The feeling that washed over all of us was so amazing. I wanted that moment after the last measure to stretch out and for the Spirit of the Lord to just fill all of our hearts, I hoped so much that someone wouldn't clap too soon. And then we all stood because we all felt how sacred and marvelous of an experience it was, and the tears just flowed! I return back to this song over and over.
AMEN! to all of the comments below! Her performance of this song brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to it! And I’m seventy-four years old!
I listen to this often! A truly spiritual moment every time I listen❤️❤️
It's time to come back again! Please!
Sting said, when he sang with the choir when they came in behind him, it was so powerful it scared him out of his chair. Hahahaha 🤣
Slow down é simplesmente maravilhosa.
Toda vez que ouço sai lágrimas dos meus olhos.
Emocionante a reação da Sissel no final.
Oh God, Sissel! I’m so glad I got to see this!!!!!! I sent that song to my oldest son (48) as a message to slow down! I know, when watching you sing this song, you were completely immersed, body and sole. And for everyone to completely feel what you were singing, it made you cry. To write this, it makes me cry. Big hug and thank you!💕💕💕💕
I love you, Sissel, and your reflection, beautiful! I experienced similar two years ago. You are a gift to us.
Warmest thanks for a most beautiful and inspirational moment.
Sempre me emociono ao vela cantar,,uma voz maravilhosa e muito espiritual, obrigada 🙏♥️

Nice Concert Thank You Sissel
There were 21,000 people, not just 18,000 cheering her on.
I love you my sweetheart.
😮😍que Señorna tan hermosa se mase a todo el Respeto porque se que asido un mujer que a servido mucho al Señor 😊👍👍👍mull Bonita
Isn't great performance all about the right song to singer to delivery to audience? Well, Slow Down is such an example and this often happens later in a good singer's career. Think of Elvis, Dusty Springfield..... It is entirely credible that Sissel didn't know that she was making what may be the consummate performance of her career ... and there are many really good ones with this singer.
Please come back to the states somewhere before I die. A place where everyone has had the vaccine and able to sit far apart. I am turning 77 and health is failing. This that you have put on is so wonderful it brings tears every time I hear it! Everyone wishes you and your family the very best health! Please tell everyone to get vaccinated. They might listen to you. Our world will never be the same if the pandemic is not controlled!!!! January 30, 2022❤️❤️❤️
Sissel it is now March 5, 2022. Please do not fly or leave your country! Russia is doing great harm to the people of Ukraine. I totally hope and pray Putin does not start WW3!!!!! It is so scary. Keep safe in your homeland, please!!!❤️❤️❤️
