  • Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shoehi Ohtani spoke publicly for the first time Monday about allegations of illegal gambling and theft accusations against his former interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara. Ohtani said through his new interpreter that he was “very sad and shocked that someone who I trusted has done this.” Ohtani added that he never bet on sports.

Just the fact that Ohtani is so rich that had it been He who was gambling he could've easily paid the debt as he lost, didn't need to run it up to 4.5M. This would only happen to someone who didn't have the money.

Ohtani is not the type of person who would get into gambling. He is not interested in spending money and dislikes flashy things.
He grew up in a small town that has many rice fields where there are hardly any amusements or stores.
His wife carries a $50 Zara purse still nowadays!!! His wife is a classy, sporty woman who wears minimal makeup or no makeup at all and no body-conscious dress!
The only reason he drives a Porsche is because it's his sponsor, and the car was given to him for free. He has to drive that for advertisement purposes.
Shohei truly believes in karma and started picking up trash on the ground, believing that doing something good would bring good luck to him. He has been doing that since he was in high school.
Shohei is a humble and good-hearted Japanese person. There is really no way he would get into gambling. (Not that all gambling is bad but he is just not a gambler type)

Since this scandal broke, Mizuhara's situation appears to worsen with each passing day The initial story Mr. Mizuhara told ESPN itself seems to be a fabrication for self-preservation, and it is likely that it simply ends with Mr. Mizuhara's embezzlement.

Mizuhara deduces that he stole money from Otani and used Otani's cell phone to send money to a bookmaker. I think Ippei was probably doing his normal expenses that weren't gambling. In that case, he can send money using Otani's mobile phone, and he can easily do two-step approval. And if he erase his remittance history, Otani won't know. I don't think Otani doubted Mizuhara because he trusted Mizuhara even though he didn't realize it. After getting married, Mizuhara was no longer able to send money when he left his finances to his wife, and various inconveniences occurred, which is why I think the theft was discovered.

Is this logical? Initially Ohtani spokespeople agreed with the story Ippel told ESPN. Afterwards they changed it when they found out they cldnt just say Ohtani paid the debt for Ippel. It has to be proved that Ippel stole the $$$.
Ippel earned $300,000 no bookie especially an illegal one is gonna let him get in debt that much. I’m sure Ohanti has an accountant. How is $4.5M unaccountable when Ohtani & his wife so minimalistic?
Logically it doesn’t make sense. But I’ll wait till the Feds investigate what happened.

Yet another why players must learn the local language quickly. The fact that Ohtani still cannot speak English despite living in the US for years and having millions to get a private English teacher is a disgrace. If he had learned the English, there would have been no reason to have translator and being caught up in this scandal.

Ask yourself self this, if your bank or accountant or other reps missed this amount of money being stolen, would YOU let them keep their jobs? He expects the world to believe that only the interpreter was the problem? None of this makes any sense.

Bro wealthy people get money stolen from them in this manner by their close associates all the time. You can Google it and you will find many examples.
Unless you’re in the 1%, you don’t have the slightest idea about what banking with that type of money is like. The ultra-rich manage their finances very differently than normal people do, and the rules are not the same. Often, they use banks that people with normal incomes don’t even have access to.

Is Shohei Otani's interpreter Ippei Mizuhara a Korean resident in Japan? Is he pretending to be Japanese by using a Japanese name?Did he drive a Korean car at first? In Japan, very few Japanese people drive Korean-made cars. Most of Japan's anti-social criminal organizations, or yakuza, are Koreans living in Japan.Ippei Mizuhara's career is full of falsehoods. Was he sent to destroy Shohei Otani and become a parasite?Did he intend to ruin Shohei Otani by incurring huge debts and forcing Shohei Otani to take over his duties?
Ippei Mizuhara was aware that he had a weakness for gambling.Still, he continued to take on huge debts.
