Excellent demo and explanation. Works very well and stable so far using the beta version of software - same sensitivity as my AirNav Radar Box set up at significantly lower cost! Thanks.
Thanks a LOT for this Update/Guide ! Got New install of SDRuno on a newly acquired i7 Laptop from Ebay running GREAT! Using a Really Stout Adj Antenna from an AMD TV Tuner adj to right height,on top of Metal Roof, picking up LOTS Of Aircraft, here in LA....Lower Alabama! Using RSP1A BTW.....Easiest setup i have seen so far!
Hi thank you for this video. However I am working with the SDRPlay Duo and SDRUno 1.4 latest release but I can't find this plugin. I have installes from the SDRPlay site the program Dump1090. I can choose between Single and ADSB and Diversity standard in the software. This plugin is that perhaps for older software or do I something wrong?
I am running mine on a pi including v radar server. I use the dump program. I'm thinking if getting another receiver for my pc what's the point in this software. I made my own staked antenna and don't need a amp
Hi matt. I have just typed into my tablet ADBS flight tracker. And I am seeing all the aircraft plus info of each plane. just thought you might want to take a look and let me know what you think. Colin
Not expecting anyone to answer this given it's an old post, but if you have 2 atennas plugged in to a SDRPlay RSPdx unit and run the ADSB pluggin is it possible to recieve a ADSB feed from one attenna and use SDRUno to scan stations simultanousaly from the other, If so how would I do that please. TIA
i think it would be great the plug in i have not use the new plug in for adasb but this going to make alot easyer than the old way i cant wait to try it
Made an RG59 1/4 wave ground plane on about 10mtrs of RG59. I get reception from way over Belgium, NL, France, and N Irland. From a loft mounted position not too far above sea level in Peterborough UK. NESDr SMArt no amps or filters. Just one F-Type connector, an F-Type to SMA adaptor, and an SMA pigtail.
Just looked at my plots and almost 500miles. After seeing some pics from RingwayManchester I'm going to try and fold half of the ground planes and analyze it with the VNA. Could be my first UA-cam Vidjao ever!
@@stevenyemc Try to replace that 10mtr RG59 with another cable if you can, preferably with some good isolated SAT-cable. At ~1000MHz you tend to lose a lot of signal with RG59.
Great video and all installed. The only thing is in the Tools/Data Sources where it says DATABASE FILENAME = C:\Program Files (x86)\Kinetic\Base Station\BaseStation.sqb and the same for Flags Folder I have an yellow apostrophe warning triangle. Any help please would be gratefully accepted. Thanks
Great video. Two questions: 1. Why do I see entries in the plugin window disappearing instead of just scrolling off the the screen? 2. Is the a log funtrion for the plugin to have a running list of decodes saved somewhere? Again thanks for the video and all the others that you do!
I had the RSP1A, but looking at getting the RSPdx. Running a dedicated ADSB antenna with a LNA would be great, but I also want to use an LNA for VHF/UHF Air. It's a shame the DX only has one bias T (ant B). I wonder if running 2x RTL SDR dongles would be better to run 2x LNAs?
This is exciting. I want to have this on my sailboat and when I have No internet. Us that possible and what would I have to sacrifice 8n the way if details if no internet present? Cheers
For some reason, after installing ADSB Plugin on released SDRUno 1.4.1, and clicking “Load Plugin”, I am getting an error message that reads something like “This plugin cannot be loaded, it may have a different format, please contact developers”. Is it not supposed to work with a released version of the software, and works only with Beta? Or what can be the problem?
i thought adsb was little dots on the waterfall! ill never get as many aircraft as you becuase of my equipment (rtl-sdr with dipole) and also i live in NZ so theres not that many aircraft to track anyways.
The dots on the waterfall, are basically the actual data radio energy being transmitted by all aircraft in range, often at the same time, so first job is to seperate into different aircraft.. Note in NZ the rules, ( currently) do not require most smaller aircraft to auto send positional information when away from the SSR radars which are only near airports.
Where do you think the free online tracking websites get their data? It’s actually from setups similar to this, which feed a central point. Also, it’s possible some sites may filter what you see, whereas having your own tracking system you will get to see everything above you. Hope that helps, thanks for watching 🙏
@@TechMindsOfficial Yes i did see the coverage and it was impressive. I run a home made coax-colinear with n-types on 2m of rg213 coax to a mast mounted raspberry pi elevated 13m and managed 200 miles. so getting that on thin coax on uhf connectors at essentially ground level is impressive.
I have used the virtual radar with the ‘old’ dump1090 application with my SDRplay receiver - lots of fun as I can see aircraft coming and going from CDG and Le Bourget airports out of my study window! I suppose this is slightly simpler than launching dump1090, but it’s pretty simple honestly
@@petbytes7167 Just watched it, essentially 2/70 it doesn’t really matter - but the comments talk about higher frequencies that you should use n-type or sma’s
Just getting started and am very excited to be up and running. Thank You so much for your help!! It really means a tremendous amount to me.
Clear & concise instructions on setting up ADS-B plugin on SDRUno V1.41 B2 to interface with Virtual Radar server.
Thank you 🙏
Can't believe i missed this! Been off my SDRPLAY for a while. Gonna get back to it! THANKS!

Anybody know what happened to the plugin? I recently installed SDR Uno with RSPDX-R2 and do not see it. Or other s/w recommendations?

Do military helicopters and private light aircraft have transponders that will work on this system as I have them quite often buzzing around my house.
Do this software also do radio for the airplanes and ground control?
I use Sdrangle works also fine and is multiplatform without additional software for the map.

Very interesting and well presented as usual, Thank you☺️
So, is ADS-B NFM? If I go to 1090MHz on my Malachit V2, I'm not hearing anything that sounds like data on NFM...

Aside from it being an interesting technical excercise does this give you any benefit over the free online flight tracking sites?

aren’t uhf/pl259’s supposed to be really bad for such high frequencies?
Did you see the coverage I had with those connectors and 20 meters of RG8 mini? But for a serious installation better coax would be a must for 1GHz
