- After defeating a handful of Mega Evolutions raid bosses and obtaining the right amount of Mega Energy, we are able to evolve our Kanto starter Pokemon which I did so in this video after hunting for a few of them.
Join me as I travel, eat and play Pokémon GO the way a local trainer would in their own country and city. Visiting one country and one city at at time through Pokémon GO.

I wish mega evolutions could be permanent like normal evolutions or at least they should be there for a month or so
Imagine, in the main series games, you had to get a new Key Stone/Mega Stone after every time you Mega Evolved a Pokemon. This is that, but more expensive.

If u have a mega the other pokemon are boosted by 10% and if they are the same type they are boosted by 30%

I personally feel you should have a mega stone for every mega raid rather than mega energy that way you'll guarantee mega every day and it'll be more worth it
Yeah they should make it so you have to get 1000+ mega energy to make a mega stone and then you can mega evolve like that

What are you talking about? They're not permanent in the anime. They need stones. In Go, the cost gets reduced after you get them registered in the dex. From 200 to 50.

Oh man I'm glad I watched the video because I only have enough to mega evolve Charizard the first and once after... So I was going to evolve for the Tepig com day for the fire type boost but then I wasn't sure which version... I'm glad the video showed me the two evolves are considered two separate registered. So I better do Charizard X so I get candy for the fire type and then for go Fest I can evolve cheaper and get candy for the dragon type catches.

Dragon charizard in Pokémon GO
You should prepare mega energy before you know you will raid. Most people who raid will do the Wednesday evening raid hour. So my recommendation is to do Blastoise raids (not Charizard) so that the water will be super effective against Heatran.

HONESTLY, I am planning on not using any of my MEGA candy until Niantic changes its policy/ gameplay with the MEGAS. I am just planning on keeping enough to evolve each once. Hopefully they change it. I don't want them milking the community of more money. I bet they're already making an abundance of it. I hope NIANTIC listens.

I feel like Mega is a way to bring some players back to the game and encourage us to raid more. Mega will probably be more interesting down the road when Niantic refines the mechanics and introduce more mega pokemons to the game

I don’t find the value in Mega Evolutions for my account, i don’t raid enough to take advantage of a 4 hour window, and having to do so many raids to maintain the ability to mega Evolve thereafter is unreasonable IMO. As a more frugal player, Mega evolutions are Pokédex only, then done. If I was able to spend a decent amount of money and time on Pokémon go I could maybe see the value, but even at that it’s a stretch. The power upgrade seems negligible. Besides other mega raids, I see no point in having a power boosting Pokémon in your party, there are no time bonuses in other raids, and if you’re using mega pokemon, to just battle other mega raids, the cost of raid passes vs the cost of mega evolving is outrageous.
