The Whelen ION DUO Surface Mount Warning Light (I2SMJ) is a surface mount linear dual color warning light that includes of six red Super-LED and six blue Super-LED behind a clear optic collimator and clear non-optic lens. The I2SMJ has an internal flasher with 69 Scan-Lock flash patterns including steady burn. Some flash patterns meet California Title XIII. The I2SMJ also provides a synchronize feature. The hard coated lens provides extended life/luster protection against UV and chemical stresses. The lens has a liquid injected molded silicone gasket to be resistant to water, moisture, dust, and other environmental conditions. The I2SMJ light has a die cast black powder coated surface mount housing. The I2SMJ comes with a 12" unterminated pigtail. Included is a horizontal surface mount kit with mounting hardware.

Very nice product. I will be buying some of the standard ION DUO lights sometime soon!
You'll definitely dig them once you get them in and Installed. They're powerful little Light-head's.
I would love to see how well they punch through dark window tint compared to the standard IONS
Through tinted glass they pack just as much punch as the standard issue ION Light-heads.

A little clarification for anybody looking to get a version with white. If the white is programmed as steady burn, you cannot use the white for flashing. Meaning that you can not have for example red/white flashing and solid white override. Sirennet correct me if I'm wrong
it actually appears that you can have a flash pattern established for when each trigger wire is on independently, and another pattern for when both trigger wires are receiving +12v. I'm looking at the video and the red/blue alternating seems to be one pattern, and when Chris activates blue-only, it looks like a different split pattern. so, you could have one pattern set for white-only as steady burn, and when activated with the other color, it has a flashing pattern. clear as mud, right?
You're totally correct. The DUO ION's have 2 control wires. You can set them to solid or split flashing and have one set to Steady burn for Illumination if desired. Keep in mind that if you have Steady-burn set for the White, you'll only be able to Flash the other color by itself. It all just depends how you want to use them/set them up.
+Dave Yergin if the second Color is set to a flashing then you can do a different pattern but steady burn mode overrides the flashing therefore if you set white to steady, when the trigger wire for the white gets 12v it will override the flashing. That's why you cannot flash AND steady burn the white. But I believe the trio version has a dedicated steady white trigger wire
