Awesome animation especially back then. Fun show. I think it’s just overshadowed by its predecessor, the original Gaiking was hardcore with less flair but the fights were visceral, doesn’t mean this version is any less. Also the song kicks ass

I'm on ep7 now so I can't tell, but from what I've heard, ep13/31/38 has the best animation for the show.
Sometimes it can be janky, especially the earlier episodes, but overall it is acceptable.
Can't be that bad when it involves Oobari, Imaishi, kanada and Ootsuka.

None of the new mechas can be called super robots. Super robots answer to the fighting spirit, bravenes and the desire to protect. Most of them are even are fulled by the fighting spirit of the pilot even though they are all out of their main energy source.

But in terms of recent release GaoGaiGar comes in front due to GaoGaiGar VS Betterman.
