We adopted a wonderful retired Greyhound, Ralphie-Boy. Every night after dinner Ralph trotted off to bed with his favorite squeaky toy. Then he’d put in an hour of nonstop hardcore after-dinner-squeaking, before finally nodding off. We love him and miss him still. If you’re considering adopting a Greyhound I say “do it”. They’re lovable, kind, gentle and extremely goofy.
I remember getting a stuffed penguin with a music box implanted which played voices singing, “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” It was tossed to a Shepherd mix and a Pekinese who kept gnawing at it and playing the song until they extracted the music box from the doll. One of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.
@@Solitude11-11 Oh yes your so right. My mother adopted 6 greyhounds & she never owned a dog. She loved their temperment ..... We had to train our new family how to climb upstairs/downstairs. There was a dog track about 8 miles from where we lived ..... I sneaked my mother where the poor greyhounds were disgustingly penned up in tiny crates with no room to move ..... We both started crying so hard ..... Now her six are with her at the Rainbow Bridge ..... I myself have adopted 8 & my life could not be happier !!
What a sweet, gorgeous boy Simon is ❤️. At least he waited. My girls had a basket of wrapped gifts by the fireplace. The "butter wouldn't melt" face one decided Christmas Day was too long to wait and was happily tucking into treats surrounded by torn paper when I returned from delivering cards to neighbours ☺️.
Thank you 😊. That’s funny. After the first Christmas with Simon we learned to keep the presents in the closet till it was time to open them. He loved grabbing presents under the tree.

I had a Border Collie Aussie Shepard, for 18 years!! After his first Xmas, the next one? He found his Frisbee, that was wrapped, amongst all the presents!! He ripped that paper like a pro!! He found all his stuff, every Xmas!! Jeannie
It's refreshing to see a dog receiving a gift instead of the dog BEING the gift, like all those irresponsible puppy videos with hysterical recipients. 👍

That dog is neither spoiled, nor an ingrate, and when it comes right down to it, he's just plain smart. That toy must have had an incentivizing scent. Most dogs: "Yeah, OK, what?
