    Excellent as always, Jono, thank you! 🙏🏻 For me the real game changer (and so far my main use of Stem Splitter, but which we presumably won’t see much of on UA-cam for obvious reasons) is: the ability to pull apart one’s favourite old tracks, and finally hear how “this” synth sound or “that” bass line, that we’ve been trying to remake for 20 years, sounds “solo”. Even in this imperfect iteration, I am already finding such exercises tremendously instructive. 🤓

      Thank you. Absolutely, that's one of a number of great potential usages for Stem Splitter. My feeling is that this technology will only continue to improve, both in terms of the accuracy of parts extracted and the number of instruments which can be identified and separated.

    Great video. I’ve been very impressed with stem splitter. Quite incredible how it picks out the parts.

    I have used stem splitter to remove mic handling noise and lyric sheet crinkling from my 7 year old granddaughter’s singing. She HAS to hold the mic like TS!

      That might just be my favourite use of Stem Splitter yet! Thanks Bill.

    Shameless narcissism at it's best :) If you can't take the mickey out of yourself then whats the point. Next thing you'll be singing on tracks, where will this madness end :). But in all seriousness, the stem splitter is really cool. I took an old rock song that we did in my band 20 years ago and remixed into a retro stranger things types tune using loads of the techniques I learnt on this channel and it sounds great.

      Clearly, we are on the brink of a resurgence of glitch music crafted entirely out of these kinds of “mistakes.” I for one welcome the trend! 😅

      @@jonobuchananmusic i love her vocals on that song but when i went to her site i found she is a banger. completely different! i'd sure like to hear more of her less banger stuff! but that's my opinion.

    It's all wonderful, but i can't click on Stem splitter. I don't know what to do.

      Sorry to hear that. Do you mean you can see ‘Stem Splitter’ in the menu but you can’t select it, or that it’s not present in the menu? Stem Splitter was introduced with LP11, so any previous versions won’t include it. If you’re using LP11, I’m sure we can get it working for you!

    Hello Jono, I noticed your using an Uad volt, does the midi, plugins etc sound different to the twin x? I only make house music, just wanted to know, is spending £1200 for a twin x worth the money for what I'm using it for?

    • @jonobuchananmusic
      @jonobuchananmusic  Місяць тому +1

      Hi Jasper. The case for an Apollo used to be much clearer. UA hardware was the only way to run UAD software, with all processing carried out via hardware itself, leaving more CPU for your computer to run your other plug-ins. Now, UAD plug-ins can run natively and most modern computers have more than enough processing power to cope. That said, the Apollo is a wonderful-sounding interface with outrageously great preamps. The Unison preamps change the topology of the way the inputs behave, emulating the behaviour of some of the most coveted channel strips ever made. I’m not in a position to advise you directly, but if you need multiple inputs, want processing to be carried out via the hardware and the Unison angle appeals to you, there is certainly still a case for the Apollo interfaces. If not, the Volts are certainly far more affordable and still very capable.

    How can any background noise on the vocal sample be removed?

    • @jonobuchananmusic
      @jonobuchananmusic  Місяць тому +2

      Unfortunately, whenever signal (the vocal) and noise (the artefacts) occur at the same time, there’s no way to completely remove the latter. However, EQ, Noise Gating - as well as adding new spatial effects - can all minimise the significance of those artefacts.

    • @alwynbth1

      @@jonobuchananmusic Thank you for your reply, If you can do a video in the future of how you would reduce the artefacts? I would be ever so grateful!
