I really need to make a slightly larger version of this for bending #5 (5/8") rebar... I've been using the #5 rebar for making the frames of moveable fence panels that can be hung over the edges of 55g plastic barrels (which are used as planters). So far, I've just been cutting the rebar to length and welding it back at 90 degree angles for the frame, but being able to bend a single 20 ft section of rebar into the rectangle and only having to make a single weld on the bottom where the ends join would probably save me a lot of time...

I have a quick question. I want to make one of these on a slightly smaller scale. My only question is this. On the base plate, should the pegs in the handle line up with the holes in the plate or is only important that the second pin in the handle is even with the diagonal pin when you are ready to feed the wire in. We-40 is not a good lubricant for drilling holes. Better to use motor oil, new or used, but I got a quart of cutting oil when my dad passed away. That was over 20 years ago. Sparingly used it keeps the bits cooler when drilling. Heck, up to then I bought a quart of 30 weight motor oil, a small plastic bottle with a squit tip and that lasted years. Just my two,2, dos cents.
Práctico, sencillo, fácil de hacer. Solo una recomendación no uses W40 en spray, puede haber chiispa y causar daño. Compra W40 en galón y un atomizador cero riesgo. El spray es bueno con el fin de aflojar piezas corroidas o lubricar
WD-40 is not a cutting oil for steel. WD does work well for aluminum but not steel. I have Rapid-Tap brand cutting oil in the shop and it works very well. Advice from retired machinist, use if you chose.

@@hamisusani2069 Bravo better and better & more and more simple. I did exactly this, but with a claw with three vertical teeth, so nothing to manufacture, if not just to find the handle .... The simplest is often the fastest, the simplest being the best!

I used a section of heavy angle iron for the base. Easy to mount in my vise that way.
