The patches will appear different than the rest of the concrete, as our products are designed to be semi-transparent to see the natural beauty and imperfections of the surface. Filling these are optional, and either way they can be incorporated into your design! :)
So i took up ceramic tile and sanded and cleaned the floors really good. After doing this step by step and now its dried its darker where the grout line was like around the ceramic tile (it outlines where is was) i hope that makes since. What can i do about this? I have a photo but not sure how to get it to yall.
These sound like they may be ghost lines, and it's possible you will not fully hide these. You can share your photo with our team on one of our website forms or send an email to cs@directcolors.com for assistance; we're happy to help! :)
I have a Sandblasting business and I’m getting ready to build a house would it be wise of me to sandblast the floor to get a good penetration and give it some texture
John, you should be able to do that. That sounds like our penetrating sealer. When using the penetrating sealer, you will want a clean surface and once the acid stain has been neutralized the concrete is clean and will allow the lithium sealer to bond to the concrete.
Hello! Yes, with your surface being bare concrete, you can apply one of our stains and a sealer. We highly recommend starting with one of our trial kits, these kits are very inexpensive and not only great for testing the product on your concrete and familiarizing yourself with the process, but for sampling a few different colors as well to ensure you get the desired look. Starting with a trial kit before starting a project can save a lot of time and money. We hope this helps!
I have a couple of questions, so hopefully you’ll answer. I build artificial rocks and make pottery from concrete/mortar; I add 1 cup of colored latex paint to lightly tint while mixing my concrete or mortar (it helps to bind and remove air bubbles in the concrete and helps reduce shrinkage and expansion): 1) Will this allow some of the tint to shine through? 2) Will the acid stain cause a reaction in soil/potting soil by leeching causing damage to plantings? 3) If so, would you know the best way to reduce, neutralize (pottery) or remediate (in the case of ground soil in a garden bed)? I appreciate the help/answer and look forward to using your product!
Stephanie, you would want to use our Vibrance Dye or Color Wave Stain to get the colors you are wanting. For 500 sq ft you would need about 4 gallons of the Vibrance Dye ($115.84 with the current sale) and 3 gallons of sealer at $179.85. The Color Wave would be 3 gallons at $69.95 ($209.85) The sealer is a total of $179.85 for 3 gallons that you will need. We have free shipping on orders over $99.00 and it will be shipped via FedEx :)
On another video, the guy shows treating the concrete with a light acrylic water-based sealer because he said he didn't want the etching to soak into the new concrete. Whereas you're telling us to etch the concrete so it will take the stain. I'm confused which one do I do on my new concrete?
You need to have the surface etched or prepared so the liquid stain can soak into the concrete. Apply the sealer first is only recommended for Vibrance Dye on a really porous surface.
Wondering what will hairline cracks or small filled holes that have been "patched" will look like? To patch or not to patch?

Nice project for concrete staining.
Wow 😮 that’s stunning 😍
Thank you! 😊
Thanks for the presentation! Very helpful. Can I substitute a coat of lithium silicate densifier for the latex?

We have a very light colored tan 20x30 foot piece of concrete. The color is in the concrete. Can we use the stain on this to darken it down?

The music is VERY distracting & driving me crazy!!!

👍👍
The piece looks like two or three different pieces not the same piece you started with.
Sylvia, thank you for your feedback. We can let you know that this was the same piece for the entire video. :)
