this is a nice option,as stated it needs work, tbh the quality isnt as good as corona (but I think thats a vantage issue). So far I ve noticed it can get a lil weird with some maps and hdris.
Thanks for the feedback! I don't think the quality will ever be as good as Corona because GPU rendering has some limitations, even on today's hardware (which is why Corona GPU was never going to happen, as Corona is all about quality). Some of that weirdness you mention we may be able to improve on in future updated. Meantime, if you run into any specific issues to report, feel free to send us a ticket at support.chaos.com/requests/new so that the bug or feature request reaches our support team. Thanks! Tom
13:13 It’s a good thing I can’t hear the second sound from the record, as my ears were already bleeding after the first one. 😊😊 Unfortunately, I can't hear the rest of the video either.😢😢
Ah, our apologies if we got the sound balance wrong and it was too loud, we'll take that feedback onboard for future productions with any sound fx. TY for letting us know! Tom
I have one question: My translucent curtains become opaque when I export the scene to Chaos Vantage - I use Corona 12.When I select a material from Chaos Cosmos Browser to add translucency, the curtain either becomes completely invisible or completely opaque. Is this a bug? Also, is there a way to create a material from scratch in Chaos Vantage, or at least change its parameters?
Translucency is not supported in Vantage (see compatibility pages, e.g. docs.chaos.com/display/LAV/V-Ray+for+3ds+Max+Features which shows it is not supported from V-Ray either; Vantage simply doesn't render translucency at the moment). What you can do is use an alpha map with lots of very small holes (scaled to be like the gaps between the weave of a material - really only works for very thin, gauzy materials though). Vantage is not intended as a creation tool, so it has no way to edit or create materials. Hope this helps! Tom
The question here seem from people who have never seen Vantage. Yes you have to pay for it, as it takes a lot of people to develop it, and to continue to develop it, hence all the features. Its a serious time saver if you are rendering stills or Animations.
TY! Yes indeed, as you say, it's a separate product from anything else from Chaos, and just like V-Ray users, Corona users would need to purchase a license for it. Meantime you can use the trial version to test out the functionality from Corona! Thanks! Tom
Hi Chaos Team! Do you have a documentation explaining the usage of Lumen like in real world? -what should be the Corona Camera's setting in relation to a Real Lumen value? -how would this affect the default Corona Sun and Sky? This is an interesting topic - thanks
Hi! May I ask you to send that question in as a ticket, support.chaos.com/requests/new, as that way the tech support team can a) reply or b) make a note to write up some extra documentation or c) both :) They won't see the comment here on UA-cam however :( Thanks! Tom
It would, but not sure how far that is possible, given that the Corona tone mapping and the Vantage tone mapping are very different, and some aspects may just not translate across at all. We'll take a look during 13 to see if improvements can be made, though. Thanks! Tom
Sorry you are having problems - for all problems like these, please contact our support team via ticket at support.chaos.com/requests/new (they do not see comments on UA-cam so cannot help here, plus it's not possible to images and scenes via UA-cam which can be useful in solving issues). When you get in touch, please provide as much information in the ticket as you can, including which version of Corona, whether it is for 3ds Max or Cinema 4d (and which version), which OS, the error message, etc. Thanks for your understanding, Tom.
Sorry to hear you are having problems. For assistance with specific problems, please send in a ticket via support.chaos.com/requests/new , as our support team do not see and can't assist with issues posted as comments on UA-cam. Thanks! Tom
No, that is what is called "Live Link" and is not in Corona 12. Live link will be added in Corona 13, though primarily as a means of rendering animations created in 3ds Max or Cinema 4D - only time will tell if it is "fast and responsive" enough to use as a kind of "replacement for IR". Thanks! Tom
There's more information about Vantage and Anima compatibility over at www.chaos.com/blog/now-in-chaos-vantage-anima-3d-human-characters - hope this helps! Tom
@@ChaosCorona Thanks, but it looks like promotion page you directed me to. I have searched the web for some guides and didn't find anything useful. I just found out lot of people struglge with it. I guess its early version and it will improve over time.
@@logman121 I checked in with the tutorials team, and it seems there are no specific tutorials yet for using Anima in Vantage - it would all be done on the Vantage side, so is outside the range of tutorials we'd make in the Corona section of that team. I'll flag it as a good idea to have such a tutorial made, though! Thanks! Tom
A further check gave this detail - rendering in Vantage using Anima animated characters is done via the live link in V-Ray (there is no way to add those characters in Vantage once you have sent the scene over). This means that for now you can't render animated Anima characters from Corona as we don't have the live link yet (planned for next release if all goes well). Once we have a live link in Corona, then we will be making tutorials about it, so we'll cover using Anima then too :) Hope this helps clarify the current situation! Tom
Yes, Vantage is a separate product so needs to be purchased separately, the same being true for V-Ray users. This is something we emphasized when people on the forums were asking for Vantage compatibility. Meantime to try it out before you buy, there is a trial for Vantage so you can try out the functionality! Thanks! Tom
Same point as if it was included in the price, the use cases don't change. Vantage is a separate product though, developed separately from V-Ray or Corona, and so needs to be purchased separately from either render engine too. Hope this helps explain things, Tom
Unfortunately, it is very outdated and needs a lot of improvement. Alternative options are much better; Blender GPU rendering or transferring to Unreal Engine to get much more controllable outputs is an advantage
Well, neither of those options is good for having a working scene in Corona that you can transfer to real-time with minimum of effort, especially with Unreal that would take a lot of conversion. So which options are "much better" definitely comes down to what the user wants to achieve and their preferred workflow. Thanks! Tom
@@ChaosCorona That is, instead of agreeing with a normal statement, you prove that this is not the case. What is wrong with you, you like all other developers, simply release something that is not ready and say that it is an advantage. And it is already several generations out of date. Instead of making such a function built into the chaos corona, you release a program that no one needs, and that renders animation 5 times longer than Unreal Engine. You can now get worse images than Blender's Eevee at the low cost of 600$.
What I saw in this video looks like amateur renders from years 2002-2004. Abslolutely not acceptible by my customers.
