    Loving the channel mate. I've always preferred the semi-amateur style of filming, no music, and more relaxed conversation. It's like we're there with you as lifters, as opposed to the overproduced stuff. Keep it up man. I believe in the 505!

    I love programs that look at total reps instead of reps per set. I think it's a great way to train.

    • @quelandil5738
      @quelandil5738 11 місяців тому

      Could you elaborate where you see the differences/advantages?
      Do you make more reps in total if you don't go for reps per set?
      E.g. lifting at 90% 5 times in 1 set is way harder than 5 times in 5 sets

    • @D.Fay_Coe
      @D.Fay_Coe 11 місяців тому

      @@quelandil5738 it allows for a full volume of training but allows one to modulate their intensity. Some days you simply don't have the energy to do 90% in one set but you are still programmed for five reps. You do have the energy to do one rep and if you give yourself adequate recovery between sets you are still able to maintain volume. The next time you're programmed for 5 reps at 90% you may have gotten better sleep or eaten better or whatever so you're able to do a single set of five. The russians really refined this philosophy of training and they used what's called the prilepin chart as their programming tool for many years. It's a great way to do a block of training.

    Mate, you are looking strong as an ox. I believe in you hitting the 505kg. One thing i'd like to say about your videos is, i know its a pain to have to censor the naughty words, but im well into strongman and train as a powerlifter and my 2 sons (12 & 6) both love strongman and sometimes work out with me. Anyway, we watch yours and a few other strongmen videos and if theres too much swearing i cant let them watch it and move on to other videos. I like that you bleep it (kudos to your editor) and know that going balls to the wall aggression when lifting needs swearing and i myself swear, but i try and calm it when my kids can hear me and i'd like to thank you and the editor for making it so that i can watch your videos with my young kids. Ps, my 6 year old couldnt stop copying you after your "i think i pooooed" video and spent weeks telling everyone including his teacher that "i think i poooed" lol.

    Yes indeed keep off the gas a little. I have my first powerlifting meet this weekend. I had to pull out of the squat and deadlift because of a torn hamstring. Was feeling so strong and went for a weight that was too heavy for me to deadlift. Definitely going to dial back my max attempts. It is a small tear to the hamstring. How long does it usually take to recover from something like that? 4 weeks? longer?
