you hold your breath, think of a tin can, when it's full you can get on top of it and it won't break, when it's empty you'll squash it by mounting on it
I don’t even know how to deadlift yet, even with the simplest information out there yo; this is exactly like the medial head imbalance problem I got right now. Any tips?
Use pause work to get your hips to move weight in timely fashion with everything else. It’s a mixture of motor control (technique & timing), and staying in position (losing tightness).
@@JustLeein pause work is honestly great, it helps so much with technique and focus, and let's you get more out of less weight. Ever since I saw you do it in one of your shorts, I've been incorporating it into my back days. Mad love dude thank you for all of your educational vids
I'm seeing him sometimes having alternating grips, sometimes both grip on same side, sometimes one is under/other is over. When to use specific grip? I've never deadlifted before with both my hands gripping the bar the same side, I always have alternating. Not sure if it matters but i been thinking about keeping them on the same side simply because when i have music pumping and im ready to lift i don't want to be in my head thinking about which way i need to grip the bar and how to position my straps.
Personally, it wasn’t that my hips were too low, it was my stance was too narrow. Slightly wider stance with a wider grip conventional has worked best for me
Before I even lift the bar my starting position makes my lower back round aka butt wink when I grab the bar. How can I fix this. I'm doing conventional deadlift BTW.
Hey Justin after deadlifting I sometimes hear swooshing sounds in my neck and feel it pulsate on one side. Doesn’t hurt or make me feel out of breathe at all but is kinda concerning. Is this normal?
maybe a lot of blood pumping through your head from the spine and neck but idk im no specialist. get it checked out, although im sure its nothing serious.
he has a video up for the power building split he follows I think, but for powerlifting thinking of a set split isn't the best idea since what you should be thinking about is deadlift, bench and squat and their accessories that will increase your strenght, for example two squat days, two/one deadlift day and two to four bench sessions a week is what a lot of powerlifters do
Tbh deadlifting has to be one of the easiest compound lift. I see people deadlifting 405+ but never back squatting, front squatting, or cleaning that much
My levrages are messed up for dead lift, I used the starting strength way and my back is fukin extremely parallel to the ground. Puts times 1000 pressure on my back. I gonna stick with snatch grip dead lift.
I got a bulging disc at 17 from doing this. Be warned guys if you are a natural straight back dead lifter like I was do not attempt this form if it does not feel natural and you have to force it because it will not add to your numbers. If you do want to attempt it start with extremely light weight way below your working weight.
Note that if the lumbar area appears flat, it means it is actually under quite a lot of flexion. The neutral profile is a lordotic one. Just saying, for the lifters out there who want to last and not chase stupid numbers that will never be world class awyway...
Personally, I try to avoid any rounding and try to drive forward and up with the hips. That said, I can agree with allowing some thoracic rounding in the back.
I mean great stuff. Some people need to push the limits. But i fear if you have a bad day, off form 1 lift. That 700 lbs ruining your life. Im nervous man! Im happy just being able to squat/dl 2 other normal humans gl ily
Hi so I’m very confused I’ve only been lifting about 2 months I hit my first pr at a deadlift at 445 I don’t really know much but I thought you have to let go if your back rounds at all
Isometric back rounding of the thoracic spine is okay. Dynamic rounding is not okay. So basically you can have your upper back rounded for the whole lift, but if the rounding increases during the lift it's not okay
If your repping don't drop the weight it's OK if your 1 rep maxing hence the reason power lifters drop it. Most people in the gym are not and just love the attention of creating an earthquake 🙃
> Starting from 500 to 600 Yeah, yeah, my current PR of 462 (210kg) can go suck ass (I do realize, that Justin is one of the top powerlifters in his country, and that my lifting career is just starting at 2,5 years)
to make for the most efficient bar path possible, if your hips rise too early that should be an issue related to the tightness of your back, think of pushing the weight with your quads as Justin said as well as think of ripping the bar towards you to activate the lats and keep the barbell as close to your legs throughout the movement as possible
Hey there. Please see this comment haha. Can you repost this without the editing over your body and just showing you pulling that in like half times speed. It’ll help me a lot in seeing where it should start to rise and just overall receive your message a bit better
The purpose of the belt is to lift more weight through the proper application of the valsalva maneuver. It’s not supposed to be leant on as a crutch for bad technique.
