Northern Leg - Southern Fist school in Alhambra in 1984 was a opening demo for the school under Master Richard Vera & Master Manuel Marquez the owners. They performed for local masters & students of the school. Shifu Louie Martinez, Shifu Joe George, Shifu Maureen Sneed & others showed off their Kung Fu skills. Showcasing the Southern 5 Families & Animals from Grandmaster Ark Yuey Wong & the Northern styles of Tai Mantis Association from Grandmaster Kam Yuen. This school was a branch from the Wong Ark Yuey Academy & Tai Mantis Association.
Master Manuel Marquez learned from some of these Masters that are performing and instills that knowledge to his students. Now he operates the oldest Kung Fu school in the South Bay area.
Shaolin Temple Kung Fu School of Lomita has been around for 33 years and has been part of the Kung Fu scene in Los Angeles since 1980. They have the highest rating for tournaments and students in the South Bay. Plus they are in almost every event in the LA area performing the Dragon & Lion Dance with the Kung Fu & Tai Chi demonstrations.
