I remember seeing a lot of Ghost Tricks in the bargin bin together with the usual cash grabs and that was really undeserving.
Haven't played this is years, but seeing it I instantly remember the story. Definitely a gem.
Early 2011 was a good time for underappreciated DS games. Ghost Trick, Radiant Historia, Okamiden. Love all of them.

@@Josuh The 3DS game we haven't finished yet is "Dream-Prison Wanderer": a turn-based roguelike/ horror game about being unable to wake up from a nightmare requiring instead that you journey your way out using violence and clever tactics. The game is scheduled to release on the eShop in 8 months or less. It'll also release on Windows computers via Steam and possibly other platforms. A year ago when I wrote that original comment, Dream-Prison Wanderer was going to be exclusive to the 3DS, but we later decided against that because it would've been a bad financial decision. I recommend you search the name of our game online and subscribe to our email newsletter to stay up to date on the game's progress.
Probably one of the only games I'd ever consider giving a 10/10, there's not a single thing I'd change about it.
I LOVE Ghost Trick! One of my favorite games of all time. Amazing art style with a fantastic narrative. Charming characters and great puzzle and music. Glad to see it getting some love

Ghost Trick is the purest definition of a hidden gem and I cannot sing its praises enough. This game was woefully under advertised when it came out considering how unique and fun the gameplay mechanics are. It boasts not only one of the best video game soundtracks out there, but also one of the most engaging stories I've ever had the chance to experience. There's not many games that do legit plot twists as good as Ghost Trick and by the end I must have gone through an entire roller coaster of emotions in how I felt about these characters. I didn't want the game to end even though I was completely satisfied from start to finish. Many tears were shed.
10/10 - PLEASE play this game somehow, some way on whatever device you can, it's easily one of the best video games ever made in my opinion.

Play The Sexy Brutale, it's a hidden gem and a murder mystery puzzle game, might be a suitable stand-in for Ghost Trick.

Oh I'm delighted to see this game get a Don't Skip dedicated to it! It's my second all-time favourite video game and an all-around blast from beginning to end.

There was a demo for this distributed wirelessly to the DS through the Wii Shop that I played and enjoyed but I didn’t buy the full game. Now it’s on my to do list for sure!
Yessss! What a good don’t skip! This was my favourite ds game of all time! And good on mobile too. When you find out what’s actually going on it blew my mind. Amazing story and characters imo and the puzzles were fun

I'm very very late to the party, but I finally played and beat Ghost Trick tonight after initially hearing about it from Ben in this video. Really loved it so thanks Ben of 4 years ago.
Playing a game called *Way of the Passive Fist*. Oddly reminded me how Huber played his TTE D&D campaigns. Beat em' Up all about being passive with parries and prodding people over. . until you're not and hit them with everything you have. It's an odd concept but strangely addictive.
Really fun time with it. Now I'm not going to ask for a Don't Skip but certainly a game worthy of a "shout out" at least!
Ghost trick is trail and error gameplay done right. Combined with a great story and art, it's one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had

This games expressive animation is still one of the best. Hopefully it’ll come to switch. I just dont like playing it on the phone.

Ghost Trick is one of those puzzle games that could so easily be missed by so many because of its DS exclusivity, making Ghost Trick the most hidden of hidden gems. The Sexy Brutale kinda reminds me of Ghost Trick because it too is a hidden gem murder mystery puzzle game.
Best story of any video game!!!
Outside of the original ace attorney trilogy and 999, this was one of the best story driven games on the ds. It's quite a masterpiece and should be experienced without spoilers either by playing or at the very least watching a let's play.
When I think of the best games I played on the DS, Ghost Trick immediately comes to mind as one of the greats!

Holy shit, that animation! Wow! Never heard a bad thing and wanted to check it out before the remake comes out, but now I kinda want to play the original because that may be some of the best game animation I've ever seen and it's over 10 years old at this point.

@@AC-qu9ng I disagree on the possibility of a sequel: I do think one could elaborate on the original in a meaningful way, especially with Takumi at the helm. The original AA after all was meant to be standalone before it became a series, and it was all the better for it. That said, I completely agree that the game stands very well on it's own and doesn't need one in the same way other games do. I just would like one, if it were possible. That or another original Takumi game.

Next to 999 my favorite DS game. I would even argue they're the best visual novels out there. Closely followed by the Phoenix Wright and Danganronpa trilogies.

_Ghost Trick_ is a title that stands out as one of my favorites and I'm never had anyone who played it on my recommendation come away disappointed. Chances are, even if certain parts of the game aren't to your liking that there will be others that are. For me, I picked the game up mostly due to the unique art style and great soundtrack (which I still listen to fairly often), the the characters are just as fun as the art style would have you think, and the creativeness that goes into all those elements is entirely present in the gameplay as well.
I love Ghost Trick! I named my cat (the one in my profile pic) Sissel after the character from Ghost Trick. Sadly, whenever I tell people this, no one ever knows who or what “Sissel” or “Ghost Trick” are.
I played the demo multiple times before I even got the game. It was such a fun time with some truly creative twists in its story.

I hate that this game came out just before these types of games started to get an audience. If it came out now with tons of youtubers promoting it, then it would have sold really well.

I played this years ago, thanks to my brother when he mentioned that I play as a dog at some point. I played it and never regretted it. I do love animals after all

This makes me happy. I would add obviously the Ace Attorney games, Dangonronpa trilogy, the Zero escape trilogy as well. I am also playing AI the somnium files now and that is a dont skip for sure
All three of those series have bigger fanbases than Ghost Trick tho. Anyone who's a fan of any of those three series, especially Ace Attorney, should play Ghost Trick because it scratches the same itch for great visual novel storytelling with gameplay that I believe exceeds any of those series
IT'S FREE ON THE APP STORE, well the first 3 chapters to be specific. Play them, and then pay $10 for the rest of the game. It's definitely worth the high price point.

Literally my only criticism of Ghost Trick is that the game is too quick to give you hints/tell you what to do with no way to turn that off. This game is damn near perfect for what it's going for.
A DS copy on Second Hand Store Sellers like Ebay and Amazon go as high as $100. I got mine last week at the price of $160 and I will be brutally honest: It Was F-Ing Worth It! I beat it last night without the need of a guide too and I am 1000% Glad I didn't looked up the solutions here in UA-cam. It felt awesome solving every puzzle on my very own. A Must Buy even if it costs a mint getting it on DS.
$160 is insane. You realize that none of the original developers got a cent from that, right? Should have bought the iOS version for $10. And that money goes to the original developers.

I had a sudden urge to finally play this game about a week ago, but I kept experiencing an infinite loading bug in the tutorial on the iOS version for some reason. :<

This is one of those games that I originally emulated and it was so good, I went looking for an actual copy and then played it again. I rate this higher than Ace Attorney actually, even the best one (Trials & Tribulations) as well as Pokemon.

Bought it immediately after Matthewmatosis recommended it on Nintendo DS eight years ago.
People were crapping on Capcom at this time when they put out fabulous games like this and Zack and Wiki, 2 new IPs that were also among the best games of their respective consoles.
