Good lesson Chip! I love that you don't neglect the high e drone. most people that i see on youtube don't really address the drone. still the same melody, but doesn't have the same effect on the ear.
good job of laying out the basic melody ACCURATELY compared to other teachers! But I wish you started out playing the entire piece at full speed once, then played it again slowly BEFORE starting the lesson. It's really helpful to establish the OVERALL structure before delving into the segments. Most other effective and successful lessons do this. I like referring to the strings with words instead of the vowel or consonant. Alpha, Delta, but what about E and G? Epsilon? Edward? Gamma for "G"? I don't like "George" but maybe it's simplest and easiest verbal reference. But I do like your terminology. Thanks much!
