When I get home sick. I watch videos of San Francisco. I get sadden that they don't necessary show the parts of town I grew up in but just to see the city even if it's through my computer screen it brings me joy. Man do I hella miss the City.
As a San Franciscan I do agree with everything you guys were saying but you didn't show much of the city itself. Also you need to add THE most important tip when visiting San Francisco. Always, always, always bring a sweater or a jacket when you go out. It becomes really cold on the hottest day you've experienced in seconds. Thanks for the good video and to all travelers welcome to my hometown.
"Really, really, really steep" Boy is that ever true. I particularly remember that in the Financial District. You get tired after walking uphill. To bicycle in parts of San Francisco, you really need to be in shape.
San Francisco is the most beautiful city on earth. I lived in the east bay in Alameda for 13 years. I will say San Francisco has a tempo all of it's own with the Golden Gate bridge, the bay bridge, the Kiot Tower honoring all of the San Francisco firemen that lost their lives in the many disasters that San Francisco has encountered through its history. The only city with a rolling national monument namely the cable car system. To the locals it's just part of transit system but to the visitors it's a one of a kind experience. I visited San Francisco quite often I know every street, every hill and then some. The city where you can climb a street since some of the sidewalks are steps. Due to a corporate move I moved to San Diego. Every time I see a Trans America ad I say I really miss that sky line. I really love that city. Scott McKenzie recorded a great song about San Franciscoback in the 1960s. Tune it in on You Tube and give it a listen it's a beautiful song. San Francisco is such a beautiful city with so very many Victorian buildings throughout the city with lots of decorative trim on them. Golden Gate park is a great attraction along with the zoo. I do the same as the locals when they call it Frisco I say don't call it Frisco. Call it San Francisco the respect it deserves. Respectively.
When I used BART the engineer announced the stations. He was some hispanic dude with heavy accent who was understandably bored to the core of his bones doing that shit all day. I didn;t understand a word he said but listening to him was one of the funniest things I have come accros in the public transport.
...funny, witty, and informative video about san francisco. i'll definitely use this as one of my established guide reference when i take my family there someday. thanks for this.
I was raised in SF from Middled School to Grad School, San Francisco IS my home! I'd like to share three things including the "Frisco" term: First, awesome video dude. Very accurate and witty way to describe SF. I own a tour company called San Francisco Love Tours and seldom do I find "outsiders" perspective of The City engagingly. Bravo! Second, I wish you could have expanded in things to do in San Francisco. When you published this video in May of 2015 we were just 5 months old... but if you are back in town, look us up! I'm pretty sure you would be impressed to the uniqueness and how we are able to capture the essence of the City by the Bay. Your explanation of our transportation system was very elegant, and the delivery of the "tiping" culture in the USA was fantastic! Lastly, and not a fault to you at all, since there is a huge internal conflict of calling San Francisco: Frisco. Let me share a bit of history. During the Gold Rush time sailors called it Frisco or the Frisco Bay. It was mainly used by the working class of their era. In the 1920's during the prohibition time, City Hall was lead by conservative Irish Catholic politicians (I'm pointing out history and not taking shots at the Catholic church). During that time, politicians realized that they could not eradicate corruption but they could remove it from plain sight by pushing it to the alleyways. Along those lines, new jargon and sense of pride arose and the term the City by the Bay was embraced and started rejecting the term "Frisco" because it was utilized, according to history, by people from out of town (like the sailors from the Gold Rush). Since, if you were a native-born San Franciscan it is taught to love the name San Francisco and to believe that only out-of-towners use the term Frisco. -If you are a Native San Franciscan more likely than not you would use the terms: SF, San Fran, The City, SF-Bay, and the City by The Bay. Seldom times, locals would use Frisco... but that's not to say that there isn't a growing population embracing the term Frisco or the Frisco Bay. Bringing it back from the ol'days of the working class in The City. Again, GREAT video! I hope my small contribution this is helpful :-)
You did a great job of providing useful information to someone who has never been to the city. You did a great job about hitting the high points which to me #1 is always Transportation. Thank you!
I'm still baffled why you don't have a million+ subs yet. Perhaps asking Charlie to bite your finger or featuring a sneezing baby panda might help get you there. Seriously though, great quality content. 👍🏼
I'll be visiting S.F. next month during the holidays. Can't wait! Thanx for the pointers, I'll share them with my daughter, who lives there, and see what she says. Just cruising videos for ideas and this was one of the best! So funny!
I've lived in the Bay Area all my life I go all over San Fran and the food is amazing and original but in and out with always be my fav cheap delicious and I mean ANIMALIZED FRIES!!!!!
When I went their last year I went to the airport you talked about. I went on the bus and traveled to my hotel. And let me just say this, It was beautiful!
1:58 Jetblue is also another great airline that flies from SFO, though not as many direct flights since it's not hubed there but a good option incase VA doesn't fly to your destination
I want to go to California this spring or summer but I don't know where to go. I kind of want to go to LA or San Francisco it's a hard choice to choose where to visit first.
Thanks for coming to our town. I enjoyed this show immensely. But, you should probably come back again and do it a little more intensive one if you can. Peace! 👏🎶🎻🎹👌🤗😍
San Francisco is the most non-American of all the America cities, except for maybe Austin. The architecture has that real British look about it, especially a lot of the older designs.
Amiable overview of how to get to the CIty By The Bay and of a few places to eat (ignoring the infinite ethic places that scatter almost every neighborhood, but largely ignoring what really makes San Francisco an enduring visitor's Mecca--whether it's spending an hour in Washington Park with some home make foccacia, checkout out the statues and St. Peter and Paul and then hiking to Coit Tower for a view of Oakland and Alcatraz, or taking a cable car from Aquatic Park at dawn before they are jammed with tourists, zipping up curves and hills and into downtown for breakfast, perhaps at the Ferry Building Food Court, or spending a day in Golden Gate Park, renting a boat on stow lake (bring a picnic from a deli in Haight Ashbury), going to the aquarium or up into the (free) tower at the DeYoung Museum, nabbing a Dim Sum lunch out on Geary at Ton Kiang and then perhaps a hike along the cliffs adjacent to the Land's End parking lot--or....that's just a bare start to the hundreds of activities that don't even get close to Pier 39 or Fisherman's Wharf or a (what were you thinking?) a McDonald's.
this city is so beautiful. I used to live In Spain/sevilla,madrid,Barcelona , Japan Osaka and kobe, Germany but I think San Francisco is the best. But I lived in san fran for 3 months before, I remember san francisco being so cuddly small and perky, u can walk from one end of the city to the other and it is packed With things to do!. It has a very nice park, the scenery, the ocean and I met a very funny guy there once. Lovely place to date and meet people. Not only that but you have Oakland and Berkley and the redwood forest thingy which are just like extensions of san Francisco. I live in Houston texas now and Its purty bad. Only a few cities in the US are nice
For your burrito meat selection, you don't want Carnitas style pork if "Al Pastor" style pork is available. Barbecued, marinated Al Pastor is far better than boiled and fried in lard pork, believe me. The burrito sold in San Francisco is called a "Mission Style" burrito because it was invented in the Mission district of San Francisco. Burritos in other parts of the United States are not like the Mission style burrito and need not be purchased or even considered in a trip to the States. Al Pastor tacos are another delicacy if you can find them, just soft tortilla, Al Pastor marinated meat, onions and cilantro (Coriander leaves). Delicious.
vszasz I'm a HUGE fan of Al Pastor, absolutely love it. Although we couldn't feature it in the show, I love the California Burrito at Los Coyotes too. Thanks for this comment, I agree w100% with every single word of it!
My friends born & raised in SF all say "Frisco" & I have never heard anyone being offended by it, not even Bay Area natives. I lived in "The City" for 4 years & everyone said "Frisco." Now I live in Oakland & people everywhere here say "Frisco." Just sayin'.
Don't forget clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl! Oh and if people have time to venture to Marin, hiking the headlands and the drive down conzelman road to Point Bonita lighthouse is beautiful. I adore the city.... Can't wait to come back after grad school. 😊
Hi, Your show was great,I need more info could you please let me know how San Francisco is divided and give me the names for eg: Union Squar ect Thanks Regrds HS
Oh my gosh 😂🤣😅 my favorite travel video ever (thus far). Maybe it's because I grew up in SJ, but you killed it in this video. All the nasty truths spilled out in the best way they could ever be delivered. I'm dying here! Thank you for making this. I'm now an official fan. Great work.
If you don't want to tip, buy food to go. Its really important here. Normal percentage is now, 20ish. 25% for great service. It's the way people in the service industry can afford to live in the area.
I am sure someone may have already addressed this. Tipping restaurant food-servers, here, in California is a different ethic. Foodservers are taxed an extra 8% on their standard minimum wages. That means, an 8% tip evens up the server with other minimum wage workers, who do not get tips. I was taught 10% for good service, 5% for substandard, and 15-20% only for exceptional service. But a practice of higher tipping from other states where wages are far less for servers has caught on and the food servers here have come to expect it. It makes a bit sense, given our cost of living is high in many, but not all places. Then there's counter service workers who put out tip jars, even though they are not taxed the extra 8%! Arrggh. In any case, who the F shames people for leveling up servers to minimum wage? 10% is a nice and reasonable tip in California. Sorry pet peev. Your videos are very entertaining. Thank you.
when i went to san fran with friends we got a free map from our hotel and walked everywhere. I mean everywhere from the bridge down to fisherman's wharf.
About to head to SF (from Melbourne). Well travelled, but 0 US. Great guide. You could easily extend these video's by having San Francisco Guide - Transport, San Francisco - Food, San Francisco - What to see.. I loved what you showed but now i have to to some more searching for 'What to do' - Standard Things and Not so known :) Hope this helps
i agree with what melbourne arial video said. This would also create a natural opening for slowing down the speed of presentation and style of editing just slightly (which i wrote about in my post above) . Ciao!
One can also get to the city taking the airport shared-ride shuttle van which costs around 20$. They brought me right to my hotel close to the Nordstrom centre.
I will visit SFO next week and I could add an APP to the video that helps to plan the trips by the city: 511 Transit. I know that Google helps too, but the APP can give some other routes. I also miss about the bike share system in the video. There's a lot of bikes to use and how you can go with them within BART or the buses. By the way, GREAT video.
The Attaché guy has really good charisma and a good soul. Love your city guides, especially the Beirut one! I like how he presents humour, subtle but funny.
This channel is fantastic, It really helped me plan my trip to New York City, and now next year I'm travelling around The American Mid West and West Coast, a video on Las Vegas would be great :)
Joseph Dawson I live here I always say go to downtown freemont do to that it’s filled with a lot of localist and your going to have more fun come on the first Friday of every month
SFO is a great airport!!..... if you're American! If you're not, get ready to see some of the longest immigration lines even your worst nightmares couldn't imagine
I'm leaving my small home city of Nashua, New Hampshire, to come to San Francisco for college. I leave on the 26th of January. I'm so incredibly excited!
I'm going in September 17 the video started of great tips from the airport and how to get around perfect then the rest of the video you are just sitting in places eating or drinking.I was expecting you to show places like Alcatraz and Muir Woods best times to go the tours only go at certain times to Alcatraz and you need allow time to walk around the woods or across the GG bridge.
Huge news! The Attaché BOOK project is now live! This book is two years in the making and I'm so excited to share it with you.

Are you kidding? You cannot be serious! It is the most disgusting place on the planet!! Human shit and needles. Wake up!
You are trolling right? Have you been to other cities? SF is meh
I'm a san Francisco native and I call it Frisco all the time and I'm bamboozled as to why people say they get upset with that lol to each his own ig.
this is one of the best channels for travel, i always check out these guys first before i go anywhere to check if theyve done a video on it
Thanks very much, I appreciate that.

I’m off to San Francisco in June 2021
I like how your videos are very informative but at the same time you don't take it too seriously.
...funny, witty, and informative video about san francisco. i'll definitely use this as one of my established guide reference when i take my family there someday. thanks for this.
Whenever we go to San Francisco we walk everywhere! If something was 2 miles away (or less, obviously) we'd just walk.

As a local, I recommend the coming traveler go to La Taqueria on 25th and Mission in San Francisco for the best burrito in San Francisco.
You did a great job of providing useful information to someone who has never been to the city. You did a great job about hitting the high points which to me #1 is always Transportation. Thank you!
Thanks! Transportation can be a dry topic sometimes but it's super important so we try to cover it as best we can.
It's always been my dream to go to san Francisco since I was a kid. Thank you for the detailed information.
Enjoy, it's a great place.
I will be arriving in San Francisco in a few days, Thank you for the tips.
One of the funniest Attache episodes i have seen. LOL. sound effects, death climb, seagulls! I enjoyed watching this one!
beautiful city to visit. I was able to make good photos and videos
I'm still baffled why you don't have a million+ subs yet. Perhaps asking Charlie to bite your finger or featuring a sneezing baby panda might help get you there. Seriously though, great quality content. 👍🏼

+Deborah West thanks so much!
Narration plus seeing the city is better than a constant view of the host. I mean that in the kindest possible way. Cheers.
I walked from the city center to Coit tower. Needless to say I almost died! Lucky to be one of the 12 few that made it though :)
I've lived in the Bay Area all my life I go all over San Fran and the food is amazing and original but in and out with always be my fav cheap delicious and I mean ANIMALIZED FRIES!!!!!

Last time I went to a burrito place that stuffed their burritos with french fries... It tasted really good actually
Vielen Dank für ein tolles Video über eine tolle Stadt.
Thanks for a great video about a great city.
Best regards from Germany.

My friends born & raised in SF all say "Frisco" & I have never heard anyone being offended by it, not even Bay Area natives. I lived in "The City" for 4 years & everyone said "Frisco." Now I live in Oakland & people everywhere here say "Frisco." Just sayin'.
I'm from San Fran I live in Miami now but I'm not offended but that name
red pill jill, only snobs and people who aren't long time residents of the area are "offended". Bandwagoning.
I love your videos! this one about San Fran is very good. I just released a new San Francisco travel guide myself, I hope its on-par
I think in San Francisco the best place for a burrito is Chipotle. Same as any city in the United States.
You monster 😱
@@attachetravel Why do you say that? I think Chipotle makes really good burritos!
wanna go to sfo and chill? and walk around?
Don't forget clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl! Oh and if people have time to venture to Marin, hiking the headlands and the drive down conzelman road to Point Bonita lighthouse is beautiful. I adore the city.... Can't wait to come back after grad school. 😊
+Stefania Ashby Great tips thanks!

One can also get to the city taking the airport shared-ride shuttle van which costs around 20$. They brought me right to my hotel close to the Nordstrom centre.
Thanks do much for the tips!
+David F great point, thank you!
We actually like being called Frisco. We hate it when people call it "San Fran"
Another amazing episode! I'll always, always fondly think of San Francisco!!
You should have more subscriber!!
whoa, that's a FoodLab dude! Awesome! His book is my kitchen bible. )
Kenji is a top guy, we had fun with him!
SFO is a great airport!!..... if you're American! If you're not, get ready to see some of the longest immigration lines even your worst nightmares couldn't imagine
so true, when I was there I thought I was somewhere in Asia.
I'm leaving my small home city of Nashua, New Hampshire, to come to San Francisco for college. I leave on the 26th of January. I'm so incredibly excited!
+ShineYClayStuffs enjoy your big day today!
+Attaché thank you so much! :D
I'll be going there for college as well
What college is it? Stanford, UC Berkeley, University of San Francisco, or San Francisco state university.
+GamingEXpert21 Academy of Art University
I'm going in September 17 the video started of great tips from the airport and how to get around perfect then the rest of the video you are just sitting in places eating or drinking.I was expecting you to show places like Alcatraz and Muir Woods best times to go the tours only go at certain times to Alcatraz and you need allow time to walk around the woods or across the GG bridge.
If we tried to cover every tourist spot in every city we visit, the show would be hours long hehe.
So I'm a big bagel fanatic, and I realize that SF bagels aren't going to compare to NY bagels, but can I still find decent ones there?
