Hi songhunter! I was there... came from Sardinia! Do you have it on DVD? It was such a great night; finally I had the chance to see one of the the great true band I always loved. I saw Steve Wynn several times live, I saw Green on Red in Sassari, Sardinia in 1989, but something was missing, and then finally we all got it!
I was merely responding to drflopsen personal attack on me. I was not being rude to anyone else who enjoys this. Thank you for allowing me to post my opinion, which is a strong one because I really love the kind of raw, honest music the original band had. The band changed, God knows the music business changed and yes, enough is enough. Thanks again for letting this old fart rant.. I shall leave now, not trying to ruffle feathers, only perhaps make some fellow musicians expect more. Peace out.
i think you´re right it was the first band of modern rock´n´roll that i started to listen in my young years, and when the group falls appart i think you can not call the same to other group, like the one who sings is the one that mathers, i saw that happen with lots of other bands, and they are not the same, i don´t mind that a menber of the band sings in concerts songs that he wrotte in a later solo career, but calling to a group of diferent guys the name of an old band that´s just a profit project that as nothing to do with the band that disappear, it´s stolen ,before it happened very rarely ,today it´s almost a thing to do . if you don´t feel good with other menbers in a band ,you shouldn´t still the name and give a concert in the name of the band you destroyd, even 30 years after, that´s my point, and i would go to see a steve wynn concert and didn´t mind to hear a song or two from dream syndicate, other subject: i remenber a friend from a city 1000 km from where i live sending me a tape of the first lp with keyboards and one guitar , later i had money and bought new ,when came out ,"out of the grey "and also bought the first wich had two guitars and no keyboards(just a litle to fill the voids but like piano notes )does someone knows what happened or there are two first lp´s one from a early release and other when they made the "big" contract
I watched enough to have an informed opinion. With all due respect sir, I see you posted the video so I mean no rudeness to you or your opinion, it is simply a big disappoint that this tour is claimed as a reunion tour (not your fault of course) rather it just Wynn current back up band albeit with the original drummer.
Saw them tonight and boy;he seemes to lose a lot more these days!Then again;some really brilliant moments as well.Benefit of doubt at any given time.I guess he's one of those particulair geniusses?
Not quite, unless Kendra Smith got a sex change in the intervening years. Plus, I don't believe that's Karl on lead either. Definitely Mr. Duck on the skins though.
....this is crap. Half of the original band is not a reunion. I saw the original band early on, I believe the only one with Kendra Smith on bass. It was mesmerizing. It only lasted for a year. Next tour Kendra was gone, along with the groove. Poseur Wynn came off like a douche-bag wanna be rock star after that. I see 30 years hasn't changed him one bit......
Paul Cutler was a a reasonbly good replacment for Karl Precoda, but by then the insufferable Wynn was long into his showbiz shtick. Of course judging by the positive response from his increasing in size audience (with the corresponding decrease in those with discerning taste) it was bound to happen. Not everyone can be the Mekons!

This is really great, however Jason Victor is fighting to keep in tune, and losing a lot, sadly
