This helped me out a lot. Had a non-responsive d-pad button and this got me through the disassembly/reassembly process with zero headaches. There was a slight difference between my controller and this one, but they were very minor and didn't impede me at all. My controller is now working like new and this video saved me $70.
I have literally bought 2 extra controllers for my PS5 since release because of the triangle button on one, and square button on another controller not working. I had another controller stop working during game play and decided I can not keep buying controllers I need to FIX them! I don’t normally post on UA-cam videos, but this is a legitimately helpful video. I went from zero signal on my right d-pad to working like new. The tear down is the most helpful part. Newer controllers have a slightly different anatomy, but the majority is applicable and really useful to get to the parts you need to clean without bricking your device. 10/10.
I dropped my controller and the x button stopped working. My other controller had horrible stick drift on the right trigger. I was stuck only playing Gran Turismo and it requires little r stick, but this video solved my cross button issue first try! I may have torn the headphone ribbon tho, but I don’t use it anyways. Now to attempt fixing stick drift on my other DS!

Then put it back in and put some silicone grease in before you put the sensor back in. I tried it, it worked. But now the buttons won’t work lol.
Holy shiet... I really didn't think this would help. I was told I would need to spend like 30 dollars to get my controller fixed in Korea. I was like sure let's just try this and if it breaks, then whatever. This worked perfectly! Not only did it fix my controller, I feel confident I understand the anatomy of my controller and will be able to fix it when I have issues in the future. Much appreciated!

After smashing my controller in the ground the trange button stopped working. Heard loose parts move inside the controller and was minutes away from biting a new one, but came over this video and now it works perfectly. Thanks for saving me 80 dollars😊
My controller was acting wonky as all hell after I dropped it one too many times, the shoulder buttons would only respond after a D-pad input and the face buttons were totally out of commission. This fixed it completely. Thank you!

My son dropped his controller today and we thought it was toast .Thanks to you I was able to carefully disassemble it and see that the cover of the buttons had shifted. I cleaned everything as you instructed, put things back in place then figured it was a fun but futile experiment. It FIXED the controller! A million thank yous!
Used this guide a few times. As last resort and it has helped. My pads were struggling with stick and unresponsive buttons. And the warranty had just expired. This guide helped although I did have to do it again, hopefully all is fine now though. Thank you
Mine did the same thing. Like it works opening up apps but doesn't work inside the game. I did it and it worked but it's doing it again so I'm gonna have to do it again myself. Maybe it's the PlayStation button plate itself that is bugged???
@@LinkHouseofNight101. If it works in apps but doesn’t work in game it means your Bumpers, L1, L2 or R1, R2 aren’t working. U can figure this out in the home menu by trying to cycle between games and media with R1 and L1. If any don’t work you can’t use any buttons in apps. It’s a weird issue I have with one of my other controllers.

Opened it up, cleaned up everything with alcohol. Wasn’t any debris or dust. The sensors didn’t even look like they needed to be cleaned. But my triangle button now works. Can’t thank you enough. Yes! My X-Button is working flawlessly again. Thanks for recordings this. :) Edit: After a few months, the problem reoccured. Thinking if a conductive pen would help make the fix more permanent. Was definitely the last time i bought a Sony controller. PS4 and 5 Controllers are complete garbage. :/
Thanks, not 15 minutes, it was more like an hour for me but i fixed a mushy square button that worked but you could not feel making the click on contact, this fixed it!

I used this guide to fix my modded battle beaver dualsense. Some differences were the back buttons added to the back plate connected with a wire. The guide worked and helped me fix my triangle button.

I threw my controller from my bed when I was pulling my bed sheets and I panicked when no buttons other than the touchpad were working, this guide was extremely helpful in opening my controller and fixing it. I'd like to add that to open it you do need to apply quite a bit of force, as I was scared of pulling too hard, but I think the hardest part was just that, the rest was easier :))

My controller was working on the home screen but not anything else. So I found this video and you showed me how to open the controller up. I figured out there was a ribbon cable loose that made the L1 button not work so I reconnected it and sure enough it works now. My son is so happy. Thank u for the video. U got my sub now for sure!

The triangle button wouldn't work for my little brother's PS5 controller so I followed this and it worked. I believe those plastic pieces around the buttons came loose so I just pressed them back into place

Weird that I was just using my controller, put on charge, took a smoke break, came back and up on the d-pad stopped working. I tried the controller reset and deleting from Bluetooth devices. Saved me like £60, thank you. I was for sure convinced it was knackered after I dropped it but a quick dismantle and clean - boom! Done!

I literally cant believe this worked and that i was able to do it. My x button was opening the ps5 menu and i took it apart cleaned it with alcohol and put it back together and it worked perfectly fine!

The triangle button wouldn't work for my little brother's PS5 controller so I followed this and it worked. I believe those plastic pieces around the buttons came loose so I just pressed them back into place

Thanks, I fixed a faulty d-pad on my Controller by just taking it apart and cleaning it. Been broken for 2 years, now, after a clean as well, it's as good as new

Thank you very much!!!! You saved me $70 for one button. Great video for first time controller disassembly. And cleaning with alcohol seemed to work. Weird that I was just using my controller, put on charge, took a smoke break, came back and up on the d-pad stopped working. I tried the controller reset and deleting from Bluetooth devices. Cleaning worked for me.

Wow, i was pretty sure that something cracked inside of my controller when it fell down. Not giving much of a hope i followed your instructions sir,suprisingly nothing was broken and everything looked fine but i cleaned tracks it with alco and after i put every part together, turned my controller on and it worked.
