IWI X95 Bullpup First impressions

- This video is from our first trip to the range with the new IWI X95 bullpup Rifle. Like the Tavor the X95 will run any kind of ammo you want to put in it. We tested Federal, Remington, Tula, Wolf Gold, Wolf Steel, and a few others with no issues whatsoever. The recoil is smooth and fairly light, just like it's IWI big brother. The new magazine release on the X95 is ok, but we still prefer the one on the Tavor better. The biggest and best improvement over the Tavor is the built in rail system on the new x95. The new gun has both left right, and bottom standard picatinny rails, with easily removable covers. The new X95 also features a full picatinny top rail with back up sights that are built into the rail. Overall our first impressions of this new offering from IWI are very good. We will do another video on the gun after we have had a lot more time with it. If you want to learn more about the new X95 rifle from IWI click the link here: www.iwi.us/X95

Keep working with the X95's mag catch. You might find it grows on you. Plus I've found that guys used to AR15s and not the original TAvor have a easier time switching to the X95 style.
I got 2 Tavors black 16inch and FDE 18inch will be getting this next year.
+MarcusFenix762 it adds some pretty nice features, especially the new rail space.
Sweet!
+guns4funcajanajustin Thanks
Most of the "improvements" seem to address issues that don't exist at all so can we stop trying to make every rifle an AR15?
releasing the mag with your fingertip is the easiest way aside from psychic or cybernetic powers.
Moving the charging handle down and back lets you have access to both side rails at the same time which is so obviously better I dont feel the need to defend it.
The longer top rail is also obviously better.
Nice vid! (New sub) I would REALLY like to see a 100 yard comparison between the x95 & keltec RDB. I'm looking to buy my 1st bullpup & trying to decide between these two.
+Jacob Guy our x95 and RDB shot about the same group at 100. The x95 was a little bit tighter. I really like both rifles a lot. I don't think you'd be unhappy with either.
Great first take... The wife allows me one new rifle per year and,.. Im on the fence with the new x95 and the cz bren 805... I cant freakin decide and its not like you get to handle either of these at normal gun stores.. Have you handled an 805 bren yet??
+ShitFromShinola yes I have and the Bren is an awesome weapon, you will be seeing a video of the Bren on the channel soon.
TacticalExistence Awesome.. I got some good tips from Mac after his review the x95 the other day.. cant wait to see yours..
Looks really nice, but I'm sticking with the DT MDR when it comes out.. American made!!
+John Doe we'll have that one too. We are equal opportunity gun guys lol
+TacticalExistence Great cant wait for that video too.
+TacticalExistence Are they making it in the USA?
Utah.
+Jeff Secrist no it's imported from Israel
Good video. I was all set to purchase the X95 next week but have been "scared off" by all the talk about accuracy shortcomings. What is your take on that subject? Is is worst than it's older brother?
+gmhodges99 I wouldn't let that stop you. Accuracy is not great with the X95, but that's not it's place. I like both the Tavor, and the X95. if I could only choose one I get the Tavor. I hope this helps.
I really like the x95 and I want to thank you for the videos on it. I think of the Tavors as CQC weapons, but if you are doing your shooting videos of the x95, I'd really like to see what sort of distance you find is effective. Do you have more than one cartridge size?
+Robert Jordan we will be doing some accuracy testing very soon, we are working on getting a 300 blk, and a 9mm.
You present one of the best videos on the Tavor., as usual.
Do you know what does X95 stand for? Does it designate anything about the rifle?
+uiticus Thank you! If it does I don't know what it is. lol
+TacticalExistence
I think the 9 stands for 9 millimeter and the 5 is for 5.56. I might be wrong though.
+itaythsking You are correct. I heard one of the IWI guys say it in another video.
+itaythsking That is correct
Please do a review on the "Meprolight"Mor" you got there.
+Bushcraft 101 Will do!
+TacticalExistence Thanks
Something I do not understand.
You mentioned in the video that you can get the actual 13.5 inch barrel size X95 by just filling out a certain form.
So why don't you just fill the form out and get the shorter package size X95 instead of the longer size one?
Because it takes about 5-6 months to get the paperwork approved before you can do that.
would you pick the $1700 x95 over a $1700 ar 15
+Ston3rRL it depends on if I already had an ar or not, is so I'd get the x95. If not I'd probably get an ar. The reason behind this is the ar is so modular and customizable, you can really do just about anything with it. The x95 on the other hand is shorter and well balanced on the shoulder, and has complete ambidextrous controls with a unique look, and feel. I'm a fan of bullpups because of these reasons. I hope this helps.
+TacticalExistence You've answered more than all these videos I've seen on this x95 in just this paragraph. It compels me to ask more.
I've been seeing some videos about the accuracy (grouping) being subpar. With this being so brand new, I will chalk this up to shooters and getting used to the platform. If I may, I'd also like your opinion about that.
But more over, I'm moving 6 hours away from anyone I know for graduate school in june, in a less populated place. It's my responsibility to protect my new home, so I'm looking between the AR and the x95 as my first rifle.
The maneuverability of the x95 is what first drew me to it, but the grouping and accuracy complaints are starting to make me look towards an AR. My thought is that I'm just keeping the rifle in my house, that I'm not strapping it on my back and going out on the town so long range accuracy shouldn't really be a concern of mine.
Or the other hand, is it short sighted not to take that into account because I don't ever know what the future holds? There could be a situation that occurs where I might have to depend on that very long range accuracy if forced from my home due to whatever reason.
*sighs* Engineering courses are easier than picking your first rifle...
How is the eye position with the optic on the X95. Were you missing the riser rail?
+Michael Wolffs it felt pretty good, but I'll be putting a Gear Head Works Razrback on it.
+TacticalExistence Do you know if the full length Razorback fits the X95, or are they going to have to make an X95 specific version?
Some slight changes have to be made in order for the full length Razorback to fit the new X 95
Is the barrel long enough to run your OSS?
+Scott Novak yes sir.
You have crap on your Tavor? Nice vid!
Thanks
Almost no muzzle rise.
+Robert Bluni yes it is pretty flat shooting.
