Hey guys, I have gotten ALOT of questions about being a case manager. I want to do a sit down Q&A so ask me anything additional questions that you may have❤️
Hi! I am in my senior year of college and is studying child and youth studies with a concentration in community engagement. My degree pathway can lead us working as a teacher but another option that we have once we graduate is a youth case manager and your videos perked my interest in it. What advice would you give to someone who’s interested in the field?
Thanks for watching! I am a psychology major and I'm currently in school working on my masters. Normally a case manager has a BA in social work, psychology or another related field and also has a masters or related experience. Currently I work with youth, so I don't really worry about my safety too much. I also built a trusting relationship with them and i feel comfortable in their homes but I am always alert, just in case. In cases where I don't feel comfortable I ask my boss or coworker to come with me.

This sounds like a really interesting job, How did you get into this field and is safety ever a concern for you in regards to house visits?

Can you juggle a 2nd case management job as a case manager?
My coworker did that but got burnt out after awhile with notes and the travel. It’s possible, just manage time wisely and create time for yourself!!
