Bianca said red lyrium has the blight. Now it makes sense it is corrupted blood of a titan. I guess those dwarves are like titan's antibodies or something. Maybe Sandal is a lost child from this tribe. Bodhan did find him in the Deeproads if I remember correctly.
Rangiku Matsumoto Sandal seems a bit too out of his wits to be one of the Sha’brytol...maybe the stone made him? A literal motherless son born of the stone to act as the titans avatar on thedas? It would explain why he’s so childlike, after all. What would a Titan know of living as a mortal? It would have the intellect of a toddler at best.
@@TheCorrodedMan maybe he's like that because he's away from them? He might need the titan as much as they need the dwarves.
This DLC literally changes the entire history of Dragon Age. Everything we knew was wrong
zach witt possibly yea
Not really, the world has a heart and probably a mind of its own, that’s about it.
The inquisitor: "Great! We stopped the earthquakes by killing that blue thing! Now let's go home!"
Everyone else: "We need answers!"
The Inquisitor: "The developers didn't have enough time to make a satisfying answer."
Everyone else: "....."
Developers: "Muhahahaha now people will HAVE to buy the new Dragon Age game when we finish making it!"
This, my friends, is a classic case of world building; making the groundwork to expand on later as opposed to throwing it all in at once.
+Edward French expensive world building
True, but at least it wasn't the price of an entire game. *cough cough* the Order 1886 *cough cough*.
Plus I am sure that, in future games, such plot holes will be filled. As you said, it's world-building. People know that Solas will be the next games villain, so why not have some genuine mystery.
@@adamlis9321 Okay this is not a plot hole. And furthermore people were angry about this???
This is literally fantasy story telling 101. Create mysterious lore and drip reveal portions to expand the world without giving the whole story, hence why so many series just keep going (Fiest, Eddings, Hobb being the first that come to my mind). If you want immediate answers fantasy isn't your genre
Rewatching in 2020, watch this became like DA2's Corypheous DLC where this because the main plot of DA4
Yeah pretty much. BioWare LOVES THEIR CLIFFHANGERS.
"i ' m leaving with more questions then answers" you and me both bro, you and me both
The monster you fight, reminds me of that red thing you also fight in the deep roads, in dragon age 2.
Was almost expecting a line from Varric about it tbh
you mean the Rock Wraith
The Profane
The most frightening thing about the Titans is the whole reference to "song". In Awakening the Darkspawn "awoken" by the Architect who go mad describe how they were lulled by a strange voice and that the Architect broke their link.
Remember...the Darkspawn began their march from the Deep Roads, long before the fallen kings of Tevinter. Perhaps long before the Elves...perhaps the Darkspawn are the instrument of the Titans...
The architect was not talking about titans. He was talking about the old gods. Based on Coreyphus and architect who I believe are the orginal darkspawn and not weapons for titans.
Damn so many questions unanswered!
and so short right.
+xLetalis that is the problem discovering long lost history erased. So many question after discovering answers.
Assassionlordjk yes
xLetalis The ending is way too abrupt. Inquisitor and in turn basically the entire Inquisition gets a tip on *the source of life itself in Thedas* and they just walk away from it, for no reason other than Bioware is lazy?
jenny talia more or less ;]
So all these Lyrium potions people been drinking is... Blood? Well that explains why Lyrium is "alive" due to cells.
Still Blood? Might as well call Templars and Mages Lyrium Vampires.
orrthehunter Gives a new meaning to the term "Blood Mage". :P
ThePreciseClimber Except that blood mages uses blood in the traditional sense, for example from humans. The story make It seem like magic comes from the living: Lyrium, red lyrium (corrupted lyrium) and blood. The big question is how all these living things are connected, why it fuels magic and what role the so called God/Gods has in this. Everything seems more polarized into good vs. evil: the good side (blue lyrium, good gods, Andraste etc.) and the evil side (Corypheus, old evil gods, dark spawn and red lyrium).
+orrthehunter Or the Templars are Blood Templars . . . since the lyrium is like blood , and templars are drinking it . . . are the l templars using a weird version of blood magic against blood magic ?
That would be weird , twisted . . . magical ?
+Popa Dan Adina And so amusingly ironic.
+prygler Maybe it's because living things have a connection to the fade? Before the veil all elves wielded magic, so maybe life itself just has a connection to the fade, and blood is the most concentrated form of this.
Oh yes, let's leave the obviously-disturbed,suddenly-mage dwarf down here in the deepest, darkest hole in Thedas. I'm sure NOTHING will go wrong.... on a side note though, this opens up a whole new possibility in my ongoing search for an explanation as to what might've caused Sandal to be as he is.
***** i also find it stupid that they just suddenly leave for no reason
"We haven't finished explaining the main story, let's add more questions to it bwahaha" oh Bioware.
Loony Ghost Girl indeed!
+Loony Ghost Girl Like a bigger freaking version of Scott Cawthon.
They've been doing this since forever, they plan for future games x)
Haha yeah it's a good strategy.
One day the magic will come back. All of it. Everyone will be just like they were. The shadows will part, and the skies will open wide.
Now only Elves screwed themselves in the past ...they also screwed Dwarves' fathers - The Titans.... No wonder they are the upcoming villains.
Let the usurper Solas explain THAT....
Taylan Ertan
Well techinally the Evanuris and Titans war wasnt exactly good vs evil
Elgarnan only started to kill titans because the titans "reshapping" was destroying elven cities. So elgarnan came swooping in and killed a few (made one titans body into a statue of himself after he killed the titan lol) and that kicked off the war which we know the Evanruis won.
@@nelson_rebel3907 fucking Evanuris. Everything in Thedas is the fault of those elves.
Hacker 13
The titans werent exactly innocent either.
The evanuris seem to me to be a product of their surroundings to protect their people, which then twisted into what we know Solas has said of them
I dont believe solas completely though. It feels to black and white and hes known for not giving the full truth of events
Its possible the Evanuris arent as bad as hes implied. But they are definitely more powerful than anything ever seen
@@nelson_rebel3907 True enough.
Hacker 13
I dont think the current events either are any fault of the elves
Everything going on now is 100% humans fault.
Slavery of elves, subjucation of elves, destruction of elven lands, theivery of elven lands, rewrote history of elven help in past events because it was inconvienent for the chantry, the chantries blatant lies and war mongering for anything not "tHe mAkEr".
The entire templar orders radical terrorism of innocent peoples, the seeker of truths horrible mind rape of mages, treating people little more than monsters (much like quanari)
I mean there a over a dozen more things I can list that lie soley at the feet of humans.
Solas's actions were just obvious once he awoke and saw what they were doing to his people.
The veil may have destroyed the world of his people (and possibly nature itself) but humans are the ones who plundered and pillaged them.
They were doomed from the moment Solas awoke
So... technically ALL magic is BLOOD magic? Depends if you're using normal blood or titan blood?
Biggest sin is we can't go back and explore the lyrium city. I mean, is that too much to ask?
I have a conspiracy theory that this whole DLC was created for the sole purpose to explain how Leliana is alive after she dies in Origins (which I still think is lame!)
@@xLetalis Lyrium must be like magical superglue if it could reattach Leliana's head.
@@jcksparrowfan indeed ;]

Dammit everytime I think dragon age can't impress me anymore I see that beautiful scene amazing thx for the videos and keep up the good work
2 years in since its release and im still playing this game like it was released yesterday the lore is magnificent, one that i have grown more to love since i got to play this dlc. now unto the jaws of hakkon! bioware, you got yourselves a new patron
So true👍😎
Oh wow. So, Lyrium "vein" has two meanings as in a rock fracture that contains minerals, but also tubes that carry blood to the heart. Lol.
The Scala Ad Caelum of Dragon Age. A world that is vast, with a city beauty and full of legend...AND WE DONT GET TO EXPLORE IT!
The Sha-Brytol have elements of Silent Sisters, Legion of the Dead, and Golems mixed in. So cool!
Absolutely ridiculous how Bioware keeps leaving us lost after every DLC. The Golems of Amgarrak, Witch Hunt, Legacy, and now this. I wish there was some progress involved and tie in some storylines we paid for before. Where is the Architect?
*****
The Architect can possess someone? Isn't he just a sentient darkspawn? Cory may have special powers due to being the first darkspawn and may have abilities from the Fade or maybe the Maker, so his taint may be stronger and thus can possess someone. I think the Hero was looking for the cure for the calling to not die early. Cory appeared long after the Hero disappeared.
+Lord Fallen The architect is definitely one of the original magisters, it was Urthemiel's priest.
+BR R That is surprising. I was always reading his wiki page before and there was no mention of him being one of the original magisters. Now it is stated that he is a magister. I feel pretty outdated. Was there a book stating him as a priest of Urthumiel? Or some codex in Inquisition? Cause I didnt really read much codex in this game.
It is on the wiki, and apparently this information comes from 'The world of Thedas'. The high priest of Urthemiel was called 'The Architect of the works of beauty'.
BR R
I need to read this World Of Thedas soon. This is amazing information for the lore. Thanks for the info!
There is people like me that listen to the story and try to imagine what's going to happen next and then there is the people that complain that this shouldn't even be a DLC, have they not learned that all bio ware DLC have left us with questions of what's coming next? What if lyrium is the thing that corrupts people and turns them into these monsters, what if demons and the fade are just monsters created by lyrium? So many questions...
What if the "maker" or "dailish gods" are just things that are toying humans and will end them all in the end?
Yes, and I would like the Grey Wardens to return to normal again in the next game. The Inquisition should work with the Wardens to hunt Solas down. I need more interaction between the characters.
+Alongname “Thelongname” Verylongname "all bio ware DLC have left us with questions of what's coming next? "..No they don't, some have conclusions and closure to them.
dont think too deeply. its a dev tactic to make you think about the future to get you hyped about the next game in order to get you to buy it right off the bat. its a ploy, and as we saw from inquisition nothing was anserwed in a meaningfull way it was just rapid fire cameo's
this whole dlc I was expecting to find a reaper easter egg
"Tell them the truth:You don't know." Or you could fucking tell me!
If Titan's blood is Lyrium... Well, that leaves me with questions about Red Lyrium... Also, Dwarves can not use magic... Or can they? DA4 will probably cost me at least $50 but I will definitely spend it.
Could an ancient titan be the answer to SPOILER
Solas' old elven god army?
i hope shes a companion in da4 a magic wielding dwarf would be cool.
So lyrium being titan's blood kind of makes using it blood magic as well, and it's been considered alright until now. But the blood magic we knew so far was considered evil. This means any use of magic in Thedas is essentially blood magic. I wonder what implication it will have in the future, once we will find out more about the Titans.
Blood Magic was originally used as a means to strengthen the effects of other existing magic schools, but eventually became it's own unique style over time. The reason why it became illegal, is because it has the ability to mind control people, and the Chantry is religiously opposed to the idea of mages having any kind of authority over others. Also, Solas explains to us that blood magic does not draw power from The Fade, and actually makes accessing The Fade more difficult. Which is probably why Tevinter needed to sacrifice thousands of slaves in order to harness enough power to access the golden city.
Frightening to think the Titans are so large and powerful. And yet even they fell to the power of the Evanuris. Makes the Evanuris even more terrifying. Just how strong was Solas to fight them?
I can't wait to bring Solas with me on this quest his input will be interesting. Also cool to see that the titans can somehow reconect the dwarves to the fade to use magic. I WANT A MAGE DWARF IN D.A.4!!!!!!!
Joshua Skidds companions barely say anything but ... hope you get something good from him ;]
+Joshua Skidds You must be planning on doing it before you beat the game because Solas is gone after you complete it
I like your walkthough a lot. everyone else wants to talk through it and wander around and take up time lol. you get to the point and I like that.
I have a feeling something even stranger will happen to Valta.
so...is using Lyrium a form of blood magic? Kinda hypocritical since Templars and Mages use it.
well you could argue that an acient beings blood and humans blood are two unrelated things
still blood doesn't matter whose it is
Or you can comprehend that all magic is blood magic, its all driven by force of will and living energy. What people call "blood magic" is merely a more direct, older form that uses blood as a medium of living energy.
Life + Will = Effect thus magic, life can be from any source, minor and ambient like most mages practice drawing upon what we think of as stamina or it can be directly pulled from the physical form for greater effect.
It’s all a form of blood magic, but Lyrium seems to be safer compared to blood. Considering it literally comes from the earth, I guess it’s more “grounded” than using normal blood.
So i just finished this part of the game and i was hoping to come here for some answers but looks like I'm SOL. I love the DA and MA series, honestly ive never been more emotionally invested in a game (Dorian
I'm calling it. That crazy dwarf chick is gonna lose her mind. "Oh yeah I'm fine btw I can talk to to titans and it sings to me leave me alone and I totally won't be an enemy boss later durrrrrr".
I envy that sudden-OP Drwarf.. xD
I’ve always had a theory that The Maker created the Titans to help him crate land masses, and the ancient Dwarves were once the caretakers of the Titans before their empire began to fade into ruin.
I'm sure the Maker will be hinted at in the new game. The Elvan gods were never truly gods. They were the most powerful mages & had immortality.
Has it already been 8 years?!? Why does time go so fast?!
Also i have watched you for a long time wow 😆
:) Yeah time flies it seems
Oh great it looks like we created the next villain for DA4. She seems possessed at the end just like the grey warden possessed by Corypheus at the end of DA2 Legacy DLC
All these people complaining about how the game and the DLCs leave with more questions instead of giving answers. Bioware already gave you answers throughout the game and throughout the DLCs. It's your job to discover the answers instead of getting spoon fed information constantly. You're supposed to put the pieces that they gave you together to get the answers. Really it's like a puzzle.
The Mission: "A cry in the dark" is the real cliffhanger. Any ideas in what happened?
I had problems with this DLC. Too much enemy health combined with them being immune to everything meant combat was arduous and drawn out, and this ending, while potentially lore-shattering, was so rushed and casually brushed aside that it felt inconsequential, almost like fan-fiction. This should have been the main plot of an entire Dragon Age game, and properly explored, implications and all. Trespasser was amazing though!
This feels like a warcraft reference....next theyll talk about a titan defector
Let me guess, the titan defector is trying to destroy Thedas to stop all creations from being tainted by the blight and is amassing an army of demons from the fade? xD
so herse the question to those who played the dlcs
whos older the titans or the elves
Favillion Bellarion I'm guessing the titans
The Titan is _literally_ the planet,I’d say it’s older then elves, humans, dwarves, the moons, most plant life, maybe even the sun for all we know at this point.
MinecraftPro15 you realize that there are other planets right.
MinecraftPro15 Lyrium isn’t native to every continent so you could have a point, but the size of thedas itself compared to the rest of the world doesn’t really suggest the presence of anymore then three or four titans(likely almost every continent is built on the backs of titans). Its as you said,TitanS rather then Titan,if there are more then they aren’t on that planet.
I’m not sure...we’ll have to wait for more on bioware’s part
Sandal was responsible the previous incident that previously made titans angry
Hi, I live this, and all of the other DA games. I played thus entire campaign three separate times, amp do all DLC content. I wish that there were more cut scenes, and less reading. You would think that we could find some recordings to listen to, instead of reading all of those notes, and such. Also more banter was needed, as there was to much dead time in the game. I love it! I hope that DA 4 continues with hunting Solas.
Really wonder how they're gonna fit in the titans in Dragon Age lore
Great, It's Mass Effect now...
This video reminds me of Hollow Earth theory.
+CoreyStudios2000 Journey to the Center of the Earth
One thing I wish she became a agent of companion
so weird you didn't get to choose anything in this quest just go down one path kill everything in sight and thats it
so many questions... but still loved all dlc's xD
I'm surprised people don't get annoyed by our characters' constant curiosity
It might be nice to have titans help the next hero.
imagine the possibilities...
The Titan is asleep now...But what the hell are they going to do when it finally wakes up? That’s gonna be some scary shit.Lyrium could be the dragon age version of Imulsion for all we know.
Oh fuck! Could the Red Lyrium be growing from a corrupted Titan?!
Can someone please tell me the name of the sondtrack in this part of the dlc? I can't find that composition anywhere though fell in love with it.
""reapers""
While playing this I got a really, really bad idea. Lyrium is the blood of a titan, lyrium can be blighted. Does this mean that there is or can be a blighted titan and blighted of those annoying dwarves? Also can the titan control templers and mages that use lyrium?
Allmightyimortal questions questions :)
I’d say the Titan is a peaceful creature considering its size(nothing that big can be a proper predator,it wouldn’t make sense)It Probably could control anything using lyrium, but its just as likely that it wouldn’t want to because it had better things to do...like sleep.
next game varic fights a blighted titan
Did the Architect even have a cameo in this?
Peter Hanes nope
xLetalis Whyyyy?? Why won't they tie together their plot threads??
+Peter Hanes well this is dwarve theme DLC. Maybe once a Grey Warden or Darkspawn theme DLC is released we may see him since each DLC so far seems to focus about discovering Lost History.
Wayne Cox It seems very likely to me that the architect is one of the original magisters and probably just hopped bodies like corypheus did, rendering the choice of killing him or not pointless.
+Wayne Cox Originally he was slated to appear in a second Expansion of Origins (which was cancelled). That may be a clue that Bioware doesn'tconsiders him dead. The fact the last World of Thedas volume confirmed he was Urthemiel's Priest (hence one of the 7 Darkspawn Magisters) should also be a clue he may be alive.
If human beings drink blood we can use magic
i was just wondering how and where did you get the armor for ure inquisitor it looks awesome
reapers.
Is it weird i completed this while being lvl13?
I
What armor is Dorian wearing? i wanna us it for my Mage
Connor Hall. Warden Mage
I must still beat the titan ,it takes too much time while you beat it in few minutes ,some tips that can be useful for me?
so where the lyrium comes from is now answered, question is, why is lyrium/the titans connected to the fade?
*****
play the last DLC and you will see what the Fade really is...
well IF you payed attention to the story and lore over the course of the past 3 games and all there DLC's of course :p
I think its pretty interesting what the fade really is, and I can't wait for the sequel, considering what the fade is, and considering who is doing the plan (trying not to spoil anything here so it sounds vague as hell)
its going to be epic...
I totally want the possibility to recreate and use the hero of ferelden, hawke and the inquisitor as your companions in the next game (given if they are still alive in your current playtrue.)
Your theory is not very far off tough as it is quite possible that titans are ancient spirits who clinged themselves to the very earth, rather then a body or assume a form.
even so, they would not be normal spirits.
Imo this brings up more questions about Red lyrium. As for this, it's a little disappointing that they finally show a dwarven mage and you don't get any more input on it. The mission table "cry for help" was the real cliffhanger though. After Valta got changed, I didn't know if she could still be trusted or not. She didn't do anything bad but..There's no telling how much that power changed her
+Cole Cash I just finished it, and I kind of figured somehow she was able to bring Renn back to life, and the cry people heard was him returning to life. I get the feeling after the cry for help quest, that she dug up Renn's body and took it back to the Basin and sealed off the Basin, and either there raised Renn, or raised him before taking him there. I just hope this will tie into the next dragon age though, maybe a dwarf comes to the surface needing help from the inquisitor and he was able to cast magic just like Valta could, maybe a kid grown up and taking place time in the future.
you guys do remember Sandal, right, their is a possibility that he's a mage because in DA2 when Hawke asks about the frozen ogre, Sandal says "Not Enchantment!", just a theory!
Workgalaxy47 I did forget about Sandal, kind of surprised he wasn't in DA:I. Especially with how Descent was, would have been good to link him to the dwarves in thos r deep roads.
john askins yeah but tell me, do you believe the theory that Sandal could be a mage because that frozen ogre is still a questionable thing since Sandal said it was "Not Enchantment"?
Workgalaxy47 yea I thought he was in the prior game. I would like to see some kind of closure for Sandal with an explanation for how he could do that. Remember he was found in the deep roads, maybe he is from from that area with the lyrium and titans, and a parent wanted to send him to live with other dwarves. Maybe he absorbed enough energy from the lyrium to gain magic and possibly live longer. Between the start of origins and the end of Dragon Age 2 he didn't seem to have aged at all.
how the hell do you kill them all ? I keep dying
1st half of this DLC was very meh, but the 2nd half was EPIC!
What is the music during 7:34-8:20 called
don't know, perhaps you can look up the descent's soundtrack
I get the impression this was a rushed dlc
I've never hated a boss more than I have The Guardian, such a cheap-ass tactic using boss (does tonnes of damage to your melee fighters and constantly tries throwing your ranged party members off the edge) It almost feels like it belongs in Dark Souls.
Iron Golem hype
Oh my God, I completely agree. I had to solo it as a mage/Knight enchanter, because all my melee party members died instantly, and my other mage's ai was too stupid to dodge attacks. I actually have an easier time on Dark Souls and Bloodborne combined than on this boss fight.
Short. Really short.
Will Johnson yup
The thing is I think this is giving us all questions for the new game, like the DlCS in DAO
one of the characters you met in descent might be a new companion like with anders in origins awakening
So this dlc is a way for bioware to change things in DA4?
may be
Wait this is a dlc I thought this was in the game already
Bogruff yup 2nd dlc "The descent"
Oh, come on Bioware....enough questions already! Give us some answers!
Cavik96 :(
Cavik96 At least it's not like DA2 where there was not a single answer. Only new questions.
+Cavik96 Last time they tried to give us answers, they gave us Mass Effect 3 ending. DA I could end same thing.
***** rofl
Answers end stories, while questions begin them. Storytelling relies on questions far more than it ever relied on answers, for questions open up a whole world of possibilities; answers shut those out. The exception is when an answer creates new questions. That shuts out some possibilities, but makes new ones in their stead.
Storytelling is founded on questions, incomplete answers, and open-ended conclusions.
Instrumental at 12;42 plz
When I played as an archer, the guardian threw me off the platform pretty funny. It can kill Cole in one hit. Fun Fight.
I'm stuck in the deep roads and don't know how to get out. I finished killing the titan boss. How do I get out?

What armour is it you're wearing?
+Aaron Dixon the preorder bonus
Annotations that I can't x out so I can 'read' what shes saying is really annoying and won't get you any clicks on "all episodes"
why in the name of the maker are you using that armor that's like one of the weakest armor in the game
I dunno why but I felt just like with Mass Effect 3 ending. What the hell happened here.
What a crummy ending
The best game had better have a lot of deep road stuff. I'm tired of fucking elves
This shit is beginning to remind of the show "Lost". Drips of information, but no answers, and the answers they do give are pure conjecture. I'm rapidly losing interest, and it's pissing me off.
welp that ending was pretty lame
Some. Hallow. Earth theory bull shit
Wow not worth $15 imo
The first DLCs seem like useless story fillers compared to Trespasser.
+Eiliestl yes, the ending to the Jaws of Hakkon DLC is pretty good but the rest is as you describe it ;]
+Eiliestl Finding more about the dwarves is filler?
+LeonGun8 this is not the 1st it is the 2nd the jaws of hakkion is the first
