in youngbin’s part it’s like he’s saying i don’t care as much about the crown from kingdom, the fans are what matters to us (the crystal he grabs instead is an homage to their fandom - fantasy - SF9's official color 'Fantasia Hologram' is literally a pastel prism)
The darkness that they were talking about is the kingdom itself, the trials, the too much pressure and work that they are experiencing because of the show and their agency. They are loaded of schedule and was forced to join this show without enuf rest of each members.
The song basically delivered their experience in kingdom. If you will see the whole stage, all of it was from their previous stage in kingdom. They were mistreated but they did their best, they worked hard for it, because of the fans who love them. The fantasy who kept on believing for SF9. If you will see Youngbin, offered with chess board that simbolizes kingdom, crown that simbolizes the throne of this show, but he refuses it, because the Gem that he took simbolizes the FANDOM, FANTASY.. they just need the people who believer and love them.
Yes, this is a fan song. The first shot is one hand holding the official light stick of SF9.
in the end - instead of stepping into the darkness, i think it’s more like going through the darkness (the challenges/hardships in kingdom + bullying from non-fans) and onto the light (their growth as artists and their fans) like they’re ready for whatever the next chapter brings as long as they have their fans which they promised to protect too
I think they gained a lot of new fans through Kingdom - me included - now they'll be in Australia this weekend, so exciting !!!

Also if you can, I’d _highly_ recommend reacting to P1Harmony!! Jongseob from YG Treasure Box is a main rapper in the group, and they’re under the same company as SF9! P1Harmony is a hip-hop centered group, and they just came back a couple weeks ago with their 4th mini album ‘Harmony : Zero In’ with the title track ‘Doom Du Doom’ so I’d definitely recommend checking that out, along with their ‘Siren’, ‘Scared’, and ‘Do It Like This’ MVs!! I think you guys would really enjoy their music :))
