@@MrWilbert7 Agreed. I can't imagine a show like this being created today. The closest is the new seasons of steins;gate, but even that is growing distant from its roots. I really like the aesthetic of lain, but it is fading in the modern era. Hopefully there is a chance to see a Renaissance, but it doesn't seem likely. Even the modern AMV scene is drying up all putting out the same generic stuff. Like, it's not bad, but it has stagnated horribly.
Man, the attention to detail in this amv is unmatched. i love how the lyrics perfectly mach up to the visuals also the song itself is super fitting. Good job👍

At first I thought it was going to be similar to Chaos;HEAd when I read the description of it on ye olden random interweb, but it had the most mind-fuckery I've ever seen in an anime, period. Haven't said it is, you said it even though it's a matter of taste. Lain is about the technology an Evangelion about the deeper psychology of the humans you can't compare these two I just recommended it. ^ ^

As I've seen do far everyone finds Lain as an anime series which will mind-fuck you.The first time I've seen I understood the majority and the subjects it was actually talking about.After doing some research inspired by the series I've readed some things and watched the anime again a few years later.If you want to really know what this series wants to say then you should look for all thhe information about ep 9 and beyind as well as for the Protocol 7 and 6 which we are currently in.
it is interesting how they are similar on many levels. I think I prefer lain more(I definitely prefer the lain aesthetic) but they are both tackling really interesting concepts. This is one of the few "classics" that I would agree is a must watch in the modern era. The fan bases overlap quite a lot too. lainchan and meduka both have similar image boards too, though they definitely have their own quirks and interesting choices. Maybe something about this shows attracts certain types or people. Or maybe they weed out those that don't understand it? Honestly I didn't think either were particularly hard to understand. They did a great job of utilizing cinematography and character reactions to imply meaning and events, and I understood it despite being diagnosed as autistic. I don't know why most people don't get these shows. A real shame you don't see more like them.
