I've an experience of about 6 years as a Full Stack Java Developer, now I got picked in the H1B lottery results announced recently and it was through a consultancy and they're preparing to file for my visa, however I'm told I've to bear the visa application fee amounting to $5000. I'm confident that i have the necessary skills to find a job am i good to go ahead or is something fishy? I'm already working abroad
Hi Ram as of now the market is not good h1b picking is different from firing when you have job offer currently in your hand then only they can file H1B it is fake if they are saying we are filling H1B without you holding any job offer in your hand. also as of you will be their company employer so tell them that ou will pay money after you get the job so that you don't get scammed and as of I know H1B filling is a free process because I have worked as an US RECRUITER in past.

How can we verify if my consultancy is legitimate? They claim our lottery was selected, but we lack access to verify this. Additionally, I can't find these employers listed on any visa websites. They mentioned initiating H1B applications only last year, so visibility may begin this year.
