2 C crushed salted pretzels
3/4 C melted butter
3 T sugar
8oz cream cheese
1 C sugar
8 oz cool whip
6 oz strawberry jello
1 3/4 c boiling water
20 oz frozen strawberries
Mix crushed pretzels, butter and 3 T sugar together and press into bottom of 9x13. Bake at 400 for 8 min, let cool. Mix sugar, cream cheese and cool whip and spread over pretzel crust. Mix jello, water and strawberries, and refrigerate until it starts to thicken, about 20 min. Pour over cream cheese layer and refrigerate at least 4 hours.

I'm 65, and grew up eating strawberry pretzel dessert. My mother used the sliced frozen strawberries in juice.
Those frozen strawberries was so good I can't find them anymore

@@Rooportlandthey use to come in frozen tins the shape of spam tins. Now they come in plastic tubs. I know because I make a strawberry salad that calls for this:)

@@Faith-in-him yes remember you had to open with a bottle pop opener I think. I'll look for the plastic container next time but are they as good sweet and yunmy as they use to be?

Oh Kristin, you always make me laugh! You're so sweet and funny❤ This recipe brings back a magnitude of memories! Every holiday at "the farm" (where I grew up), with mommy & daddy, aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters....and bunches of grands, great grands, and some great great grands❤❤❤ We always had this Strawberry Pretzel Salad, and Oreo Cookie Dessert...in the years after it "appeared" and was very popular. In my grown up years, eventually my 2 sisters & I took onthe extras & sides for the meal. The Pretzel salad was one of mine also!
I ALWAYS had difficulty when it came to the timing of "thickening" to the jello wasn't still runny, but not jelly😂😂

Something about using the bag to mix ingredients if off putting to me, I wouldn't do it, but looks great.
Use the bag to break up the whatever that was then, add the other in gredients to it in a bowl.
