This tab is now available in Guitar Pro format. You can find it here mymusic.st/nikolagugoski/78884 IMPORTANT: Scale names might not be 100% accurate, but that's how it was easiest for me to navigate through this solo. For someone who is seeing this for the first time: I'm showing the scales that are used in this solo. Red dots are the notes played in each position. Blue dots are passing notes (they are not part of the scale). Again, feedback on how to make this better is welcome :D
Perfect lesson and format. Half speed, with tab, broken down into several parts, no talk, close-up camera on hands. Entire Hotel California solo lesson in 4 minutes. Perfect.
Been playing guitar for 40 years and always wanted to learn this solo. Just did it in one night thanks to this video. This is how all instructional guitar videos should be done. Thank You!
Oh my god yes, I learned this slow but I listened to the actual speed and I was like “Aww hell no” but I said FUCK IT and just went straight for it, and easyyyyy, I was so wrong, I played it with no problem
Being self-taught, there are many things that I have missed over the years(Pentatonic Scales, Blues Scale). My hearing is a bit off too. I just listened and tried to learn with absolutely no theory. You have done an excellent job on this solo. Thank you.
I spent about a month following your video (with countless reloading...) to learn this masterpiece solo. I finally managed to play the entire solo with confidence first time in my life. It's a dream stayed about 30 years and finally come true by a good teacher. I'll keep working on catch up to full speed and dynamics to be able to play with original backing tracks. I am graduate from here, and I want to say THANK YOU to make this video.

Holy wow I just found your channel and as an advanced guitarist this is an amazing resource. Every other channel is more targeted towards beginners, but as an advanced player sometimes you just need clarification on a line or a few notes here and there, and just having good close-up footage of hands on a fretboard is nice, and the tab is just a bonus for less advanced players. Truly awesome man, keep it up!
You are my hero. I recently commented on your “time” solo about how this is the best way to learn a solo. You are providing a service that basically nobody else offers. You are clearly an amazing guitar player but you weren’t just showing off, you are creating content to help other guitar players reach their goals and play things they never thought they could. Because you understand that trying to play a solo at its original speed is often detrimental, you were just practicing bad habits. I unless you are already an elite level guitar player, you just have to slow this stuff down. My hat is off to you my friend.
I feel bad about even making a suggestion because you do this so well, but we often don’t see the next bar of music until you hit the first note so it can be a little bit hard to plan ahead for the notes afterwards, if you could show the upcoming bar just like one second earlier I think that would make it easier for people to play along. This is not a criticism, I love what you do.

This is one of my favorite guitar solos of all time. Thank you so much for taking the time to show us all the little flavorful details like the subtle bends. Well done, sir!
This lesson is just great man! By learning this solo, a player can discover so much about music: the chord shapes that are played out, the odd chord notes you are bending to, the blues licks, the the dual voiced arpeggios. It's good for an analysis how you can interpret a solo over such a common chord progression and you can really shape your own finger sound by practicing it a low and lower overdrive: because it forces you to give it your own personal touch, if you ever want to be able to play it fluently.
This is finally making sense to me across the fret board, I had allot of difficulty with this piece being a beginner, but I started studying Mozart, specifically Rondo ala Turka and Molto Alegro from the 40th symphony. This guy's the reason why im getting good progress on playing guitar thank you nikola yous the goat
Man!!! Putting the tabs and the scales, that’s some next level shit that will help us to improvise a lot!! Thanks, a lot
Thatstje way to teach, your patience is on a different level than everyone who has watched it.
I can learn this as a 30 year amateur with confidence as I just learnt comfortably numb and I do believe I use the same key. Bm
I hope 😅
I really like how you display the scales you play like that.
Very impressive you are a raw model for teaching guitar solos.I am very much certain I have watched 100 of vedios how to learn solos but you stand way above of all those vedios Thanks and appreciated for what you have done.
You are the best at these tutorials and an amazing musician!! Thank you for sharing your gift!!
Thank you for the nice words. Means a lot!
never in my life thought I'd play this one day. Now almost there . THX SO MUCH!!!
Bro I don't know how to thank you, finally I can learn this masterpiece. Also, this music represent something really big to me, so thank you, really🙏 Big support from France 🇫🇷
Thank you! Really means a lot that you find this helpful 😉
I recently bought the Vidami pedal. It allowed me to use my foot to start and end a segment to loop, start/stop video, change the speed from 100% to 57%, 50%, 35%, or 20% while maintaining pitch. Really helped learning this solo. This is a great lesson.
I have to admit, this song has always intimidated me. I want to learn it really bad. This is really the first video I have found that breaks it down like this. I seem to learn better when using tabs, so thank you for posting this!! I think with this, I will be able to break it down into manageable segments, which may make it less intimidating.
You are not alone my friend
Nikola a massive thanks for taking the time to post this. Brilliant. Subscribed.
The next year the band of my school is going to play this song in front of more than 500 students (Not including parents and teachers) And this video of yours will help me a lot, thank you so much, I want to be as good as you.
I‘m sure you will rock the stage!
All the best to you
I learned the Part1 today precisely...will touch the remaining ones only when I master this part..Thanks a ton🤟
Thanks for watching! Glad this helps
This is the best tutorial I’ve ever seen to this solo. Never thought I could learn this! Thanks
Thank you. I learned this after a week and now it’s time to master pull & bending to get the sound right.
Thank you it sounded beautiful I been wanting to learn this solo for years ever since I was a little kid I want to at least play this and you made it possible
Fantastic breakdown.
Thank you sir for your efforts
After learning so many RHCP songs through your videos, I can't help but think in John playing this, because of your tone :P
This is awesome! Thank you very much. @Nikola Gugoski. No talk, no bs comments, no "tips". Nice big tabs and slow playing. This is how all tutorials should be like.
I swear I was just thinking of trying to learn this yesterday. You are wild
Thanks a million buddy, for keeping this video up. I know not a lot of tutorials keep the sound because the eagles don’t allow it or whatever exactly is why. I’m halfway through the solo in just about 3 weeks. You teach it slow but not that slow and not too fast. Never in my entire life would I thought to be able to PLAY This solo on guitar. Now I’m determined to finish it! So thank you a million!! A like and subscription from me !
Muy práctico. Sin necesidad de estar aburriendo con tanta introducción. Muy buen tutorial.
This is a brilliant video to learn it properly at a calm pace. Thank you Nikola! Great job
1:48 - This part is superb
The tab isn't correct, it's a good start but Felder is playing some absolutely crucial double stops, see here: ua-cam.com/video/LTAsC7BP90M/v-deo.htmlm53s
Especially where Sammy Hager says "Damn", those double stops to finish that lick are essential.
a little late to the party, but thank you for this. I've always wanted to learn this solo after years of playing. I haven't played as much in past few years (life) but I've been trying a lot more lately. my finger tips aren't happy with me as they have gotten soft. but im determined to learn the whole thing. thanks!
if you play the begining part on the bridge pickup then at 0:42 switch to the neck it makes it sound more like the recording
Thanks❤
You really make this easy! I appreciate you. I had to take a break because my fingers were killing me haha all the bends!
this is such a beautiful song to play, gets me in the feels
I tried learning this a while ago, watched this video and I'm getting it down slowly but surely
