@@fiandrhi I don't think just anyone can learn to play like this either. Even with all the practice in the world, you need a certain kind of inbuilt rhythmical talent.
@@beagleboysinc9950 You can. I listen to her on Spotify and in the car on Spotify. Sometimes Spotify slips in similar music played by someone else (on free Spotify). Usually it's a poor shadow of her arrangements, she's that good.
You can, learn stride with the left hand that's where the authenticity is, the right hand you can get away with octaves, it downhill from there if you know the chords to the song.
It does take years of experience and practice to get it down, but once you do, you barely need to even think about it half the time. It's similar to how professional hockey players can pull off skating maneuvers at breakneck speed that many hobby ice skaters could never come close to duplicating. They don't even think about what they are doing to move the way they need in order to play the game.
Kristen, just wow is about all I can say. I’ve been privileged to hear just about all the great Disneyland pianists like Johnny Hodges, Rod Miller, Alan Thompson, Jonny May and so on. I would be a loyal fan if you were playing at Disneyland. Disney has always had such great music and it is awesome to hear your ragtime renditions of them. Keep up the amazing ragtime.
There used to be a guy who would come out every day at a certain time at Walt Disney World's The Magic Kingdom, near Casey's Corner (at the end of Main Street on the left) and play this type of stuff on an old piano. I'd stand there and just listen for as long as possible. Don't know if he still does though. The Dapper Dans (Main Street quartet) would sometimes sing along. Great times!
I think not many play it now because it is next to impossible to find a teacher. I found 1 but she was just starting to teach piano and he hadn't thought about what happens when he ran out of the books he used to teach. Which was level 5 (not that high for piano playing) and had a teacher before him so NJ I was already at that level sort of (I had continued to teach myself up a level). So he didn't know how to teach me what he knew. He was the best most fun teacher I ever had! Not really that much of any piano teachers anymore and those that do teach classical, which just isn't me. Give me the the Jazz, Boogie Woogie, ragtime.
I don't know who this young lady is , but she just made this old man smile , with her talent and care free style.. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to , and watching her play..Be Blessed hun...
Aaron Garcia I got to meet the Sherman brothers in the fall of 1980. I was a student at Belmont in Nashville, and they came and gave a 3-day seminar during which they went through Mary Poppins scene-by-scene and song-by-song telling all about how the songs were inspired and written, and how Walt Disney responded to them. It was a great experience.

This girl is a superb piano player. I love the piano, the music, but I love watching her play, too. I love watching her hands...something about the way she fingers those keys. Maybe it's just me, but there's something different about the way she moves, different than other girl players I've watched. I don't know what, but I just see it. Love this girl, and the pooch is a nice touch to her videos. I love pretty girls and I love puppy dogs.

Just noticed the same phenomenon: when key changes from many-sharps or many-flats (Eb Major/c Minor there) to C major, it is hard to get ready only on white keys :) Happy New Year, Kristen!
Kristen, I'm thrilled you found the time and money to re-tune your piano...it stinks when you can't play. This is a wonderful arrangement that brings instant smiles! How is it possible that this woman can memorize so many notes? She plays so many songs by memory and her playing is great.
When you feel the music in your very bones, you can retain the muscle memory. It also helps she wrote the adaptations she plays.
