    Got a 2017 392 T/A in my garage, I love learning more about my own car without going out in the garage and taking my own apart! Really good video thanks!

    Incredible perseverance. I have a similar problem without the 17% crank pulley on a 2015 5.7 RT with a ProCharger. The car only has 12,000 miles, so I will be checking the bottom hose also to see if the hoses are just really weak. Sounds like they should be using the spring again.

    Hey there, not really related to this specific video but thanks for mentioning Mike at OST Dyno in a couple of your videos. My local tune shop was having tuning issues with my 16 Scat and they gave up after 4 weeks. Mike got it going in a weekend the remote tuning.

    I have a mechanic friend that what he does to check a leaking head gasket is puts a rubber glove tightly around the expansion tank fill opening and then pulls one spark plug at a time and pressurizes with air and if there is leak by the glove will expand. He found a head gasket leak on a 2.2L cavalier that i had. It is true they aren't installing the spring in the lower hose like they used to. Replaced a lower hose on my '99 jeep (4.0L) and the old hose had a spring the replacement didn't.

    My kennebell car was doing the same thing blowing antifreeze out of the overflow. I noticed you have an after market coolant cap I had one as well switched back to factory dodge cap it stopped, I thought the same as you head gasket ,the the dealer I bought it off thought the same thing so I got an low mile supercharged SRT pretty cheap. Mike at OST said he did not think it was the head gaskets as I had checked for coolant in oil and combustable ect. He had seen hoses collapse on the dyno, he suggested to try that , or maybe the cap. I have a 1500 ram with 250000 miles i took the cap off it as a test ran the car hard no issues. I marked the coolant tank to keep an Eye if the level changes which it does a little but it is with in 1/2 to 3/4 inch range up or down. I did buy a new dodge cap put the old one back on the truck. But a used 250k cap worked better then a new after market billet aluminum one.

      Good info, and definitely something to check. My cap is actually the stock one with a Billet Tech cover over it. Wish I'd checked that lower radiator hose first, learning experience for sure LOL

    Hey I watched this entire video to get an understanding of installing the top of the engine coincidentally because I want to buy a stroked 5.7 bottom from Arrington!!! So to hear you thank them was a pleasant surprise!
    Would you mind me emailing you a few question in preparation to this possible build? Just need to know what I’ll have to do if I buy the stroked bottom from them to upgrade my 5.7. Ima new to this. I’m not sure how the wiring aspect and the unseen stuff works.

      Arrington actually closed their doors unfortunately.

      Not really much I can offer. You're welcome to email me from my website www.SpeedysGarage.net and I'll answer what I can, but the shop building your engine would be your best bet.

    I’m wanting to add a supercharger to my 14 R/T. What all has to be upgraded to have the supercharger? I’ve seen nothing good adding one straight to a stock engine. Seems guys blow the 5.7 engines after a few thousand miles.

    • @SpeedysGarage

      You can bolt one on with proper tuning and running proper premium fuel. It's folks that try to squeeze every HP and beat on them at the track with poor fuel that have issues.

    I'll keep this in mind since I am soon adding 12 lbs whipple and rebuild .. pistons, rods ect... What about a ribbed stainless wrapp hose?? What is a good aftermarket replacement hose that is rinned internally already??

      @SpeedysGarage  7 років тому +3

      I couldn't fine any. I have heard recently Dodge has started putting springs in these hoses. Maybe they watched my video ;)

    Did you drill and tap the fuel rail for the pressure gauge?

    • @SpeedysGarage
      @SpeedysGarage  6 років тому

      The aftermarket fuel rails had a provision for a fuel pressure gauge. If yours do not, yes you can drill/tap or you can put a "T" at one of the ends of the fuel rail.

      +Saken Leon Depends on how far you want to take it. Lot's of schools or you can just get an old engine out of a junk yard and start taking it apart and figuring stuff out as you go.
