Cool vid man, love the idea of keeping the original headlight, which I intended to do aswell. Really liked the mirrors too, really made it look like a street fighter.
I tried this today and now my bike dosent want to turn on not even the battery turns on and when I jumó start it it idled but Rosenda rev just give out a weird sound like bam bam bam
i would like to do the same with my 500f but in your video its hard to see exactly what your doing. all in all looks great and hope to do that with my existing headlight.
Kris Abbott With the timelapse-thingy its quite fast. I have three other videos explaining, more like a "step by step"-style. I'll put the link to the playlist in the description or you can find it on my channel :)
@@erickfranco650 Im sure you could have! ..but maybe it would have taken a bit longer ;) I'l be more than happy to see the results if you want to shoot me some photos over at Instagram. I'm @mr.drakenhoff :)
Pretty neat though I was wondering how does making it naked affect handling? My plastics were pretty tore up so I took them off put a 95 gs500e headlight on and it looks nice but for soMe reason my turn signals stopped working and my nuetral light went out lol
I’m sure that you’ll feel a bit more wind on your body when going naked, but i’m not sure id it handles any different to be honest. Definitely feels easier to maneuver though when you dont see that big fairing in front!
@@MrDrakenhoff yeah I honestly thought the wind would be a deal breaker but it feels good and I’m sure the bikes loving the extra air flow. It does feel a bit different to handle to me anyways turns are sharper and it’s so light. Miss the look of the fairing but definitely performs better without them.
716Sneakerhead I bought them at biltema.no, a store that's only in Finland, Norway, Denmark and Sweden. But I'm sure they're available other places as well ;)
Ik you sold the bike and this is really late but do you have those fairing brackets still or did you sell those too. If you have them I would buy them off you
@@CasperMdrd that are not. It's an universal headlight fork mount. Quite common on the internet, not so much in physical stores, at least here in Norway. ✌️
Hi, I`m considering doing the mod myself on my gs500f. Please ,tell me didnt the lamp mount lose it stiffnes after a while ? Just two bolts seems to be not enough.
I had no problem with just the two bolts as long as I had it. I only had the bike about a year like this (naked) before I sold it, so any longer period than that I wouldn't know. :)
Mr.Drakenhoff yeah, I changed my mind. All of the original parts like headlight and fairings are put in safe place :p it turns out that you can buy cheap and pretty decent lamp on ebay :p it looks kinda cool now just waiting for the spring. What bike are you looking for now?

Thanks man I appreciate it! Feel free to send me a pic over at IG if you go through with it. I'd love to see :D
And here I am struggling to do the exact opposite. Looking for fairing pieces and making my own own brackets.
I bought a 500E model for 300 bucks.
After watching your before and after dude it looks nice. I’m probably gonna do that too. Thanks for the video mAn
Thanks for the comment man! I'd love to see the result if you end up doing it. Send me a picture over on Instagram ^^
Yea I’m trying to figure out what I can use that’s like those brackets you used. I also kinda wanna put fork boots on it I kinda like that look
@@francocianfaglione5802 Awesome! :o

What are those mounting brackets that you put the headlight on called? Can’t find anything like it anywhere
Superb

Yo could I get all those parts
So i tried keeping original headlight but it keeps wanting to point upwards. How do you keep it still?
Unfortunately I don’t have a good answer for you. Maybe try putting something with more friction between?
@@MrDrakenhoff thanks boss, I don’t think I could’ve done this project without your vid!

Where did you buy those polished brackets to mount your headlight?

Is It possible to install that headlight on the naked gs500 ?
I would think it would be possible. Haven’t tried it though, so it might be a slightly different process
Super Cool;)
For Easy riding the naked is so much more fun! Yo get more wind;)
Just don’t go to fast
Thanks mate, you ride safe too!

Tanner Puetz unfortunately I’ve already sold them. I wish you all the luck 🙌
Wanna sell me the fairings? In all seriousness I'll buy them. I have a 2004 gs500f as well that was stripped and I would like to put it back together
Unfortunately I sold the fairings with the bike and are not in possession of them anymore 👍 thanks for watching
Or you could buy a gs500, wich is a g500f naked
Haha yes, this is true! But then you will have to buy this awesome headlight somewhere else!
Ill try It Next week with mine 2007
Awesome! Feel free to send me a pic over at IG if you end up doing it ✌️
@@MrDrakenhoff im only wondering about the two Iron pieces that fixes the front and lateral ligts... Are they from a gs500?

Outinspace420 - unfortunately the bike and all of it's parts have been sold, so the bike now has a different owner, sorry mate! 😞

Nice the way the headlight is the right width for the brackets. No need for spacers. Do you have a side shot of the bike after? Seriously nice job.
