The situation in the US is equally if not worse.
In Dallas area we have like 4 universities and lots of students who come here for their Masters. I see many of them working in gas stations and restaurants and when asked they say they do not have any job opportunities thru OPT and/or no one is willing to sponsor H1b visas.
We have lived in the US for over 28 years and been thru few recessions but last two years the recession has been unofficial with inflation, layoffs and lack of opportunities.
At least in US they are getting those jobs in gas stations and restaurants but in Canada now 99% of these Indian students are not getting any jobs. This is the new reality in Canada. And the useless programs of studies they enroll have no value in the job market. It is a social disaster in the making.
Meanwhile me sitting in Kerala and earning US salary, Many Software companies in US now hire Indian developers directly with hourly rate of $20-25 , No need to immigrate if you have enough skills in Programming, Only issue is night shift

If all jobs get outsourced to developing nations like India Mexico etc how will people here get jobs and on top of that privileged students assuming just because you come to a country on a student visa you are entitled to a job .
