A year later they now sell adapter hoses for either type of Sodastream bottle. What I don't particularly like is the idea of 900psi in a hose. Could this whole idea perhaps be adapted for use with a regulator? If so then what pressure would be required to get appropriate results that would compare to other methods such as a McCann carbonator?
Is there a way to raise the pin inside? Mine seems a bit short so I have to push the adapter higher into the soda stream to make contact to allow CO2 to get in. Thank you for your videos, you do a great job at explaining things clearly!
Hello, I bought the "M18x1.5 to 1/8 NPT Co2 Tank Adapter" & "Universal 8mm Quick-Disconnect Plug Adapter" from the links above. Fitted them together and then into the stock Terra tank top adapter, no leaks. But when I try to use the Soda Stream it doesn't have much Co2 flow and makes a weird fluttering sound? Not even enough comes out to carbonate the water? Tank is good, 2,000+ PSI on gauge. What could be wrong? Should I try adjusting the slotted screw fitting in the one way valve in the quick connect adapter? Any help appreciated! Thanks

I did this setup as in this video. Worked great... however. I must have a leak somewhere as my 5lb cannister only last about 1 week. I tested all the fittings with water and soap before hand, didn't appear to be any leaks. Wondering if it's leaking at the quick-connect where it attaches to the soda stream machine? Does anyone know if it's OK to just put a valve on the line to turn off while not using, or close the cannister when not in use? Or would the constant "off and on" put undo pressure on everything?
When not using a compressed gas tank (in my case a "20 lb" steel tank, with a "siphon", also known as a "dip tube", that I refill at the local AirGas) - you always want to have the valve on the tank OFF, for safety. Also, it'd be a good idea (and pretty standard practice) to have at least one "ball valve" on the line, as a shutoff THERE. So when you want to use your SodaStream Terra, you'd turn open the main tank valve, then turn the handle on the ball valve - now you've got pressure - use your SodaStream. Then turn both valves back off.

I’ve been watching some of your previous videos this morning. Is there a “latest model” you would suggest that makes all of the diy 5lb refilling more accessible and problem free? Is there a model you prefer which makes all of this simpler than newer models or are newer models easy to use as well? Kinda like the soda stream one touch. Is this model newer and more complex given it’s electric and you would avoid it?
Asking because you seem like the person to ask or may be interested in finding out. Do you know if there’s any way to hook up a nitrogen tank to a soda stream and get that smooth bubbly mouthfeel without using a tiny relatively expensive one time use canister and a whipcream maker? Any info or thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Hey do you have any news regarding an adapter to refill the sodastream terra bottles? If not I have an idea on how to do it, just need your contact that made the other adapter so they can manufacture. Please reach out to me.
Alexander, if I send you a new sodastream quick connect bottle, can you send me the quick connect bottle valve? I am in Puerto Rico and I can not find the tanks or get them shipped here. I found a local gas company that can fill larger tanks for me, but I need the tank adapter to connect my Soda Stream Terra to a larger tank.
Alex would you mind posting an Amazon link to the standard quick connect hose fitting? I purchased your adapter and I am keeping this one as a back up.
did you ever find one that worked on amazon?
@@jon1380 Not yet. I am going to go to my local gas supplier to see if they carry it. Will update you.
hi, dear friend, we have the M18*1.5 to 8mm adapter for the Connection of Large CO2 Storage Tanks and Soda Machine Pink CO2 Cylinder System, you can get it by this youtube link: ua-cam.com/video/LlpJAiUR47w/v-deo.html

I think sodastream has altered the top of there CO2 bottles so it won't unscrew. My husband has tried everything to get it off, vice, leverage, hammer...and he is a big guy. So we need to buy something. The plastic version exploded, is there a metal version we can buy?
Yeah this video is misleading.

Hello I'm trying to find the male quick connect that goes on the opposite end (where you used Teflon tape) but i can't find the piece anywhere. Will you link the part?

Cannot get the terra cartridge copper tip off the bottle. Any suggestions? Is there a trick to it? How did you get yours off so easily?
Never mind. I took it to my car mechanic shop and they got it off for me... for free. Love those guys!
Do we know when these adapters will be back in stock? I saw the 1-2 weeks comment below but that was about 2 weeks ago

So I was thinking I needed your plastic adapter thing, but now watching this video it looks like I can just take the metal part off of the SS canister I have and connect it to a hose to a large CO2 tank. Is there a reason I would need the adapter you have in this video?
There is not
I think the issue is getting the hose size to work with your CO2 tank? Would you just use a hose and a pipe clamp?
@@claypipkin I was still getting the hose linked above. But taking off the old threaded soda stream adapter, and finding an adapter that connects to the hose and threads onto the bottom of whatever screws out of the soda stream quick connect bottle. Maybe my assumption that i can find those at the local hardware store is wrong.
So wgere does the hose go????!
this product is out of stock on amazon do u know when it will be back on stock and tried buying your product on etsy but it wasn't showing that it was avail. can u tell me where i can purchase this product or your produt

Have you tried turning on the gas with that setup? I ordered the part off Amazon and there is gas leakage at the pink ring and above. Is there something I’m doing wrong?
Interested if you solved this issue. I had the same problem bought it off of Amazon and it leaked horribly.
I’m still getting a leak somewhere. Not sure where though. Is it an issue with the quick connect? I’ve gone through two 5lb tanks in a day because of this.
I added more Teflon tape to the threads and that seemed to fix the leak from that area.
I have the SodaSteam Art (I think it's the same fitting as the Terra). Anyway, I wanted to buy the adapter that you featured in your video (made by the guy that sent you one). When I went to his Amazon listing, it was unavailable (and most disturbingly said it was not sure if it would ever be available). This leads me to believe he is either being sued or was hit with a "cease and Desist. At any rate, is there another metal adapter you might have found that will fit the "Art" or the "Terra"? Thank you and great site.
It will be back in stock soon. I have contact with the maker. Y'all keep buying all his stock!!!

I got it next day on Amazon just now.
I have tried the link on Amazon and I also found out that it isn’t available.

How on earth did you get the end off your pink soda stream bottle?? I bought this adapter and only have that step left to connect, but I can't get it to budge.

Took it to my mechanic and he removed. Just takes the right tools.
@@elliesadie7703 I eventually figured out that my pipe wrench fit around the neck. Crescent wrench on the fitting. Ezpz
Will your adapter fitted onto a old style threaded cilinder still fit in the Terra machine or will the combined setup be too long?
Both

Does this really work for terra? I’ve been for weeks looking for something but nothing seems to work. Also this aluminum adaptor it’s currently not available in Amazon. Somewhere else I can buy it?
@@BrianNguyening I just received this aluminum adaptor last week, but do you know what brass adapter and quick connect end Alex is adding to the bottom? There's no link to this item and I'm having trouble finding the right piece.
@@BrianNguyening Thank you!
@@BrianNguyening I did not get the reducer either. Was wondering if you'd ever tried telfon plumbers tape? I have seen some forums on kegging talking about using that to fix similar type leaks, and in this video it looks like Alex has tape around the reducer.

@@courcreate Thank you, I was just looking at all this again today. I found another video posted by someone on the amazon page. Looks like the original design needed this brass adapter, but this new batch that I got one from has an 1/8 NPT female end already, so looks like I have all I need. Just need to maybe use some plumbers tape on the threads of the male quick connect to seal a small leak at the connection. Thanks again!
The adapter on Amazon is out! 🥶

I got it all together but the combined parts won't stay tight in the terra and every time I push the top button, the combined parts move down. Is there a secret to this?
If you don’t mind, how much you spent between adapter, tank, filling, hose? I’m trying but everything but also I need to be sure that I’m getting the correct parts
@Karoll Castellanos the most expensive thing is the tank. New 5 lb co2 tank was $100. All the other parts were total of $70. 5 lbs will last you forever which makes it worth it.
