Yes I don't understand it as well. The strange thing is that the bail arm of the reel flips for a split second and it's gone.
I think the hook up wasn't good from the beginning although I struck it good. 🤷♂️

danke dir! Ja so ist das Rock Shore Leben eben - NIEMAND landete jeden Fisch den er vom Ufer draufbekommt und cut's gehören eben dazu. Man kann immer auch aus Fehlern/Misserfolgen lernen - das mache ich und versuche es auch weiterzugeben.

It was a very big fish, maybe way over 10 kg. You see the crazy impact of the strike and my difficulties to change the position of the rod. Very heavy fish!

Sehr cooles Video! Ist echt der Wahnsinn was so ein Aj im Drill abliefert. Hatte heuer auch einen ~6kg Fisch an der Sonio. Zum Glück waren nicht viele Hindernisse im Wasser und hatte auch eine erhöhte Position ansonsten keine Chanche!!

When you want to pass the. Trough RG Guides of Muthos Accura 100H you have to squeeze them a bit with the pliers.

The scenery there is absolutely fantastic, it seems to have all the parameters needed for a great satisfaction of a demanding angler. The fight? as said by others, it had all the ingredients, great lesson and seems you learned it, the reward was the prize AJ at the end. Just great Max. By the way, the beast at the start of your video belongs to category of the trains.
By the looks of the strikes seems to me the AJs were hunting closer to the reef's steps, what did the Mahi Mahi expect? Attacking the jig or your catch?
Thank you for your long feedback - I appreciate it! The Mahi - oh I don't know it seems it heard the noise and came by to see whats going on. It was all the time close to the AJ for a much longer time than showed bug it wasn't attacking neither the jig nor the fish.
Yes the fish was patrolling very close to the reef step in search of food. That was the difficult part in this situation because the whole fight was in the danger zone.
Easy for a big fish like that. Also you see that the fish is fighting extremely clever, first it's going to the left and then to the right side of the reef it wasn't heading out for deeper waters.
A fish going to the side is always a very difficult situation for a shore angler because you can't put good pressure on it. That was also the reason why I opened the bail arm of the reel, it worked and the fish chanced direction but also dived deep down. Clever AJ!

yes sure - leader is always about 3,5 meters - depending on the spot Im casting. The connection knot is always (when casting) between Reel and first RG Guide (closer to the guide than the reel).

Nice catch and congratulations for your amazing videos!! I would like to ask for the first fish what kind of diameter line you used? I’m asking because I have the same rod Accura reel 8000 setup and I’m between pe3 and 0,55mm or pe4 and 0,65mm so I can have more abrasion resistance against rocks and to put more drug pressure in case I have a strike from Tuna I know for the other hand I will lose strikes in case of clear or overfishing places but I guess we can’t have everything 🤷🏻♂️what’s your opinion?

I use for my Shore Jigging PE 3 and most of the times 40lbs leader - also in the case you mentioned. What I do is I fish quiet long leader about 4,2 meter's to get safety.
I have landed a 55 kg Tuna with this setup and I got cut within a secon with 70lbs leader from a beast deep down... My opinion is if your braid and leader is on some sharp rocks with a lot of drags it will cut no matter. Also an important point is the jig animation - with thicker PE and leader it's getting worse.
I would go for PE 3 and 40 lbs or if you want 50 lbs leader.

I think it needs time to get "used to it" and be calmer. But getting the braid on your reel fast is not a mistake I think.
Small jerks and reeling fast would be your way to go?
