Behind the eyes, the hair, the complexion, the smiles and sense of humor is a remarkable brain. You are beyond lovely since you have such command of everything from your English to your reasoning. You are a joy to all and I wish you many years of excellent health and happiness. From an Old Timer in N Idaho
That's a great Comment, Peter. You can tell just by a glance how some people are 'right' for certain roles. They walk into a room or sit down for an interview, and you KNOW. This young lady has a tremendous air of competence about her. I don't think 'driven' is the right term (in my experience, driven people often have no time for anyone but themselves); perhaps it's 'self-assured'. She's born to shoulder responsibility. In America she'd probably have been singled-out in her formative years and would now be in training to be an astronaut. It's a wonderful thought to know that there are people of this calibre all over the world who are piloting jets because they NEED to, not just because it's a 'cool' occupation. On a more frivolous fantasy note, she's just the sort of candidate Starfleet would want as a starship officer! [I'm thinking of the Captain Janeway character in the Star Trek 'Voyager' TV series...] :-)
Yes, I heard all of you gasp when Joe came with the "If we ever get married" line. Thanks for not caring about all the rumours and continuing to make video's together! Great friendship you have, it's a treat to watch. Even though it's probably inconvenient for both of you and your partners, I think it's hilarious that so many people want you to cheat on your partners so badly and are just openly asking you to.
You and Joe make such authentic videos. I wanted to thank you and Joe for sharing your experiences and knowledge about the aviation field to others who are interested in becoming a pilot, like me! :) Thank you, keep up the good work.
Funny how everybody is talking about both getting together as a couple. It seems, nobody knows, that both are in a relationship, but NOT to each other :D
It is so nice to see a girl/woman who is so well spoken with such a positive attitude which is probably why she is a pilot. I would venture to say she would be an asset to any company. May the Good Lord be with her in her travels.
@Aviation2002 It wouldn't surprise me though if they did. I wish she would do a collaboration with Mentour Pilot, but perhaps Petter's wife might not be happy with that idea.
Brilliant interview featuring two of the most natural individuals on UA-cam. Answers loads of questions that must be asked of DutchPilotGirl. If you fancy trying all the different aircraft types is it not possible to try some in different simulators? Or is it way too costly?
Make more videos like this every week! Coz we learn many things from you two. Although you both you don expose your relationship verbally. But in action we see! I really love to see you are lovely couples.💟💝
She is so good with the expressions when she's talking. Ya gotta luv her. I noticed this time that she's wearing a ring on her left hand. Now, I'm broken hearted. Not really, She's so good at these videos.
"Such a good friend" - that's great, but always an almost certain kiss of death for a possible relationship. 😃 You make a great pair, in both appearance and interaction. I mean, you could be "Joechelle"! Seriously though, your collaborations are great! 👍👍
When I worked as Flight Crew the first thing I did after arriving at the hotel was go to the swimming pool (most hotels had one). Dutch Pilot Girl, try it. You may like it. Any flight, especially a long one, is tiring. A swim helps stretch the muscles, and relax all over. It's great!
That was really good! The two of you talk smoothly, not talking over each other. Hope you do more shows together, I am sure any topic will be well received. Cheers!
Really enjoy your channel and this insight into your career. I worked at Ayr Hospital near Prestwick Airport and I had no idea you flew from there with Ryanair. Thanks again for this channel and your contribution.
Great video, although I and I'm sure others would like to have known more about Michelle. How her life was growing up, her family, did she have any real struggles going through flight training, were there time, when she reached her destination does she stay near the hotel, or does she wander around the cities? What other things does she like to do; such as painting, cooking, hiking, scuba etc. I hope the questions she asks Joe are about the things I mentioned. I do love watching them together. Now if we could get both of them together with MentourPilot, that would be awesome.
Will think about it! Problem is pilot watches are quite expensive, I don't own one so it would currently be difficult to review them/share my thoughts...
Tell you what, You Tube is lucky to have such a bright young lady pilot on their roster. Hey You Tube if you're reading this let it sink in. So many young people are reading and watching this and are inspired by this. This "GIRL" is good! You're looking for a role model? Well this is it. Thank you for this episode as always.
Great story!! Hard work and also good fortune to actually land a job with an airline, i know people who trained as pilots but were unable to make it , congratulations!!!
Great interview questions, Captain Joe. Michelle, Dutch Pilot Girl, thank you for your professional insights. Very helpful in understanding modern aviation. All best, you guys.
Can I ask please, in a previous video with you are Capt Joe, you mentions (DPG) you only get 2 days a month free? and Capt Joe 14 or so? why so different?
I love watching you two together, you can see the friendship. BUT, Captain Joe, you will never have hair as nice as Dutch Pilot. I love how you banter back and forth. I got my Single Engine Land ticket in 1980, a C150 can have a huge takeoff roll when you are hot and high. You know you are in trouble when you depart the Denver area in a c150 and spend the next 10 miles flying around the Prairie Dog Holes until you can start to milk the flaps up. Those were the days. Steam Gauges, DME, VOR, Transponder, Single radio in the stack, and an entire right panel that had acres of open space. The only thing automated in those days was gravity. The fan up front stops, you have one option ... descend. Most of the rental planes still have Ventury horn to spin up the gyro's.
- If we ever get married... ehm... not the both of us - If youtube wouldn't have been there, we would never mate... ehm met :D I'm sure Mr. Freud had something to comment here :)
I had no idea you started out with ryanair. Over a 5 year period, I flew frequently with ryanair between edinburgh and dublin. Everyone always made fun of ryanair, but those people had never been on a plane in their life. My experience with ryanair was always a good one and I love to see a ryanair plane coming in to land at edinburgh. I'm usually sat in the mcdonalds car park, which the planes fly over on approach or take off. I've also seen the ryanair plane circling prestwick many times. It's a good sight. Have to admit though, watching a 747 coming in to prestwick is an awesome thing to see.
Future videos: A) Healthy things for pilots to do off hours & B) Crisis management You two make great videos together. I liked the A320 vs 737 program. I asked Michelle about microburst weather approaches. I had heard an argument about how traffic piles up with these long shallow approaches. The argument states get them there and down with STEEP descents (6% or greater) and full flair/low or no power landing like the shuttle. What are your thoughts?
Michelle - as an retired Airbus R&D engineer with 37 years at Airbus with being involved in all Programs from A300 B2/B4 to the A320 NEO family i will encourage you to once migrate to the best aircrafts in the world, build even with the help of dutch engineers of FOKKER (I started at VFW-FOKKER, so I was very often together wit the great dutch colleagues - great people.... like you I guess. I really like your channel, and especially that you do these videos together with Captain Joe - you both make very goosd team to whatch. I am impressed in general by all you female pilots i came acoss in the last years in the UA-cam telling from your jobs like flywitheva flying 747F or your B737 colleagues - the "Marias" from Sweden Maria Peterson, Maria Fagerson... love to get how you all made it into the cockpit. 👍👍👍
Michelle DutchPilotGirl! In addition to being smart and professional aircraft pilot, you are also _so cute!!_ Pleasant skies for you! Capt. Joe and you make great looking couple.
So, I complete school next year, my parents aren’t in the best situation to be funding my Cadet Course for flight school, is it worth taking out a loan, if I take out a loan, how hard is it to re-pay it? Any tips for me getting started?
First: they have confirmed that they are NOT a couple. Secondly: in the Dutch culture, it is quite common to wear rings for other reasons then marriage (or engagement)
Ime 12 but I really like wanna be a pilot because to see the world and take people on holiday it would be fun I love airplanes and every thing need to find out what you need o be a pilot what u need to pay etc... so I dunno how much flights school is and licensing is but you Dutch pilot girl and captain jo are my INSPIRATION because you're amazing I wish I new what I need in gcse to even do or go to flight school or that but yeah u are an !IDLE! I respect u soo mutch ☺☺☺
I don't fly but I love your video's Michelle keep them coming there very informative. Have you ever flown into the United States if so which part of the Country did you fly into.
Hi Michelle! My suggestion for a future video would be about navigation. How you program the VOR and how the flight plan is decided in advance. Also, what happens if there are restrictions to fly over certain countries or zones or bad weather with too short notice. Does it cause a lot of distress and that ends delaying a flight? Keep up the very good work you've been doing in your channel. Fly safe. Tot ziens!
Great video.☺️ I met Captain Joe yesterday at the Pilots Careers Live Event at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 at the Sofitel Hotel.☺️ I did a video with him on my channel.☺️
Any suggestions for future videos guys? :D

Occasional one night stand is healthy cause it frees the tension.
If I remember correctly, it was mentioned in one of the videos, Joe dates a girl that was his passenger when he flew for Air Berlin.
Isn't that a great big rock on DPGs finger?
yeeessss
That's sad :(
they have pretty good chemistry together
I think she is lovely.
Confident, smart, cheerful and beautiful.
Stop sucking up its beyond embarrassing
and rich :(((
me so sad
Bucket List Item: Be on a flight where the pilots are Captain Joe and Michelle!
You do know one of them fly a 747 CARGO plane while Theo the fly a 737 PASSENGER plane right.....
Victor Ang I’m sure he knows that, and it’d be to good to be true anyway.
@@victorang928 For now... A lot of pilots transfer from Cargo to Passenger.
That would be something!
Sneak up in the cockpit to find em having ♡

That is a good interview of you Michelle with Captain Joe about your pilot job. You are a good pilot
Nice video!
Question: How does the Rudder redundancy work on the 737? :)
Specifically the Max?
Captain Joe did ask...
Remember US air 427??
I feel like I'm watching a movie. Thank you for sharing your story with us and Captain Joe, thatnk you for being there for her.
Brilliant interview featuring two of the most natural individuals on UA-cam. Answers loads of questions that must be asked of DutchPilotGirl. If you fancy trying all the different aircraft types is it not possible to try some in different simulators? Or is it way too costly?
Way too costly indeed ;) Simulators can be very expensive

The conversation was good.

Refreshing to see you guys out of the pilot uniforms lol
It was an amazing interview, I really appreciate it. Enjoying from Brazil!!
I like how she thinks: "I'd like to try the 747, the 787, 777..." (...) "Also your Airbus, why not?" ROFL
Love your two’s videos, you have a great relationship but how and where did you meet?
She is so good with the expressions when she's talking. Ya gotta luv her. I noticed this time that she's wearing a ring on her left hand. Now, I'm broken hearted. Not really, She's so good at these videos.

Safe flying.Very smart, beautiful & confident.... Great videos.
Thank you so much to you and Joy for sharing both aviation experience! ❤
Very intelligent interview. I think some youtubers are better interviewers than on television. Very professional. Best of luck to both of you!
Excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed that. The sound was a bit soft but that didn't spoil the video. Good luck with your desire to land all those types.
Michelle, you mentioned in your video on rosters that you are working for a charter airline. Is it your ultimate ambition to fly for KLM ?
That was really good! The two of you talk smoothly, not talking over each other. Hope you do more shows together, I am sure any topic will be well received. Cheers!
You two seem to have a little friendly competition going.
