The special thing about Hariharan is he is never rigid in the way he approaches his song. He just flows, letting his divine voice flow. Made my childhood better.
I don't like high-pitched male voices. They don't sound like male to me. I, too, like the contrast between male and female voices in duets. They convey the feelings so much and are pleasing to ears.
You don't have to display range etc etc to convey emotions .. it should be relatable to audiences at the end of the day.. who are not judges of music shows who judge your musical knowledge. That's why I love Indian music and songs.
He is a literal sound-bender.
This song 'Tu Hi Re/ Uyire' is from the movie 'Bombay'. It is considered as one of the best Indian music album of all time along with another A. R. Rahman album 'Roja'.
Finally!!! Hariharan is a legendary singer in all different languages...This song itself is from 'Bombay' and they mixed the verse of both Tamil and Hindi versions together to recreate it here...Original female singers are legend KS Chitra who sang the Tamil version and Kavita Krishnamurti who sang the Hindi one...Bombay album was listed by Times as one of the Top-100 tracks to listen before you die, all aongs of the movie are excellent and are in different genres...Rakshita came to the ARR live band through a singing reality show and has now sung few songs for him and is a regular to all his shows and is a very versatile singer. Truly glad for her
But Telugu sounds better, even Rahman said, he actually loved all his songs in Telugu..
Orginal language gives you something special, rather than converted song or movies.
But he sings in the language of the spirit...it's beyond Hindi ,Tamil and Telegu. @@freddiemercurybulsara3876
Ofcourse... telugu language sounds special... because all the words in telugu closes with ovals.. which makes the telugu language... naturally musical both in speaking and in listening also... that's why telugu is said to be that is Italian of the east.. by abroaders... in the past it self..
I absolutely love "Jiv Rangala" , a Marathi song, sung by Hariharan , Shreya Goshal and composed by Ajay-Atul. Love your reaction to this legend guys!
Absolutely...heavenly song it is❤
Also 'Nahi Samne' from Taal
Hariharan is an absolute legend and any of his song with ar is a masterpiece. Especially this song is from tamil movie Bombay which was extremely popular in both original and other languages like hindi etc. Infact it is one of the top 10 highest selling indian movie soundtracks of all time. Also a lot of people don't realise that the most watched video from india with over 3 billion views is actually sung by Hariharan. Also i am pretty sure you have seen him couple of times in podcasts it's just that you don't react to stuff from the south as regularly so you probably forgot but i request to check him out more even if it's not on the channel.
Efra's sense of music is stunnig he under stand different types of music deeply
Ikr! I am Indian and was surprised from her understanding without knowing the language.
Hariharan is a maestro. He plays around. His voice hasn't aged a day! Absolute master🙏
Oh my God finally Hariharan ji's video ❤️🤌
I would just say “krishnaa nee begane”… and I may also say “colonial cousins”.. weird name for a band for sure. But hariharan and Leslie lewis killed us in the 90’s through this band! 😊
Super suggestion. A must watch
One thing you cant mis out about HARIHARAN is his stint with band COLONIAL COUSINS.
The track KRISHNA NEE BEGANE BAARO ( a Kannada phrase from a popular bhajan as a title, but an English Track is a masterpiece.
Lucky to see you guys finally loveling Hariharan 😊 listen to his list of songs beautiful they are. Our nostalgia music throughout 😢❤
Hariharan has one of the most magical voices ever…and wow!! So happy to see rakshitha!! She is an upcoming singer who was in South Indian reality singing shows!!!
He is one of the greatest singers in India ever...
This song 'Tu Hi Re' has a special place in my heart. I was told that whenever I used to cause chaos as a baby (by crying of course), my mother would just sing this song to calm me down. She also used it as a lullaby to ensure a calm and peaceful sleep.
I am pretty sure you can hear why this song is so calming. Fun fact, I never listened to the original until many years later.
Underrated: This song is in both Tamil AND Hindi. It's the equivalent of singing in both French and Russian, linguistically speaking.
That was beautiful. I’ve never heard of the female vocalist, but she has a very beautiful voice too. Keep it up guys. Enjoy watching your video’s. I’m from Birmingham UK. ❤
You have already reacted to him singing "kurukku siruthavale with another singer Swetha Mohan ( fyi,she is the daughter of sujatha Mohan last one in the latest video where you found out about Hariharan himself) about 2 years ago..
Btw just to let you know, he switched from Tamil to Hindi in between, which is like switching from polish to Japanese
Absolute legends of all time. What a ghazal singer he is. You gotta react to this fun performance by him. Search by “Ey Hairathe Hariharan AR Rahman” it is a video posted NSlides youtube channel. He is playing with notes like its a joke in that video and entertaining the crowd at the same time.
Hariharan is my absolute favourite ❤❤❤
he is singing in tamil and Hindi in the same stanza of the song
Man you have just discovered real gem😚🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ghazals by Hariharan Ji is must🙏
This Song made me cry in 90s till to this day ....same vibe even keeps getting more and more and deeper every time you listen this master piece 😢. In so romantic, sad but every beautiful good Ways ❤❤😢😢
And so did the movies Roja , the Musical, act. were one among the best ever absolutely ❤❤❤❤
This Song Is Equally Good In Both Versions. Pleasing To Hear 😔
this is the great man and he is actually a hindustani and carnatic classic, this kind of training is unheard of in world. its called gurukulam training
Hariharan is one cool guy (and very much a legend). He was in a band Colonial Cousins in the 90s, they had some fusion bangers
We want more of his song reaction.. And if it's possible ,reaction like this and not compilations. He is a legendary singer..❤️🫶🏽
One of the greats HARIHARAN!!!!! One of few classically trained Bollywood singer!!!
7:04 that's Odia language of the state Odisha. Guys check out Odia song Rangabati from Coke studio India where you are going to witness two more beautiful singers of India. This coke studio version is actually a take on the folk song of Odisha, originally from Sambalpur.
Hariharan. Even his name is like a complete note 🎵🎵
Since you liked Hariharan I think you should check out the album of ' Dil vil pyar vyar' it is one of the few Bollywood albums that has taken old classics and remade it in a beautiful way. And the album has some great artists including Hariharan.
The special is they are singing the song in two different languages, TAMIL AND HINDI.
Hariharan is also part of duo band named the colonial brothers, with another singler lesle lewis .i am shocked to see nobody has mentioned it yet...they were popular in the 90's early 2000.
For your BASIC information,. THEY ARE SINGING IN 2 LANGAUGES SIMULTANEOUSLY 👍👍
Yasssss, Hariharan ji is pureee magiccc ✨✨✨✨✨
Hariharan is a legend in India. Probably underrated in mainstream music because of Sanu Udit but he has stayed relevant longer being multi lingual and a fusion star. He along with Leslie Lewis (Colonial Cousins) started classical and pop fusion music in india in 90s. Also the only Indian artists to perform on Mtv global stage on 90s. Do react to those songs.
Bonus fact: Hariharan is discovered KK in Delhi in 1989 singing in a hotel as a substitute. He encouraged him to shift to Mumbai for making a serious career. In 1994 when KK landed in Mumbai, Hariharan introduced KK to Leslie Lewis. Leslie Lewis immediately liked KK and offered him ad jingles and few years later produced his album Pal and the rest is history. Hariharan is truly an angel and played a big role in getting KK to Mumbai and introducing him to India!!!
Uyire is a tamil word, which means "my soul" or "life" you can say
Hariharan's voice hits like a cool breeze in a hot summer day...
Hari Haran has his foundation is pure classical and then film playback, that too in multiple languages. He knowledge of western music is I am told, very extensive and he has done live performances jamming with fusion music.
ENJOOOOOY
U got the real gem finally Hariharan Ji ❤️
Finally!! Took a long time to get a proper Hariharan performance. One of my favorites❤
The flute solo is just like when a person's love is taken away and helpless..That immense feeling is potrayed
Hariharan sir can sing while sleeping... He is just fantastic... Living legend 🙏
This song Uyire (my soul) is from the movie Bombay and this is Hariharan's first ever song in the Tamil film industry as a background singer.
Lyrics r a Indian poetry depicting emotions of love , haven't heard a better depiction of love in any language ❤❤❤❤
If you really want to listen to some absolutely fantastic vocals then look up the A.R.Rehman performance in Dubai called "Expo 2020 Dubai". It is absolutely mind boggling. The song is in 2 languages, Tamil and its Hindi translation.
Guys you should check out this full concert in your own time😌😌
I miss Hariharan's voice in bollywood 🥺Sadly bollywood doesn't see anything but arijit.. I'm so fed up with same arijit in every bollywood song.. Like it's too much.i miss old bollywood legends voice in bollywood songs. I miss hariharan,Roop kumar rathore and many good singers.
"Uyire" means soul in Tamil. " Tu hi re" means yourself in Hindi. Both singers sing in Tamil and Hindi languages.
TU HI RE-----best sad song ever...best lyrics
You must listen to 'Hai Rama' live performance by Hariharan sir & Sujata mam... it'll take you to another world...
Finally you played Hariharan. He has sung fantastic songs in Hindi as well. I had sent you many you tube videos on him to play. Some impromptu songs he had done at a party with a group of players which you never played (last year). He is a phenomenal singer, much much better than the rest. Also sings Jazz !!
You should watch Sonu Nigam’s mimicry of Hariharan’s on stage variations of his own songs. It was in Kapil Sharma Show when all singers were invited Shan, Sonu, Talat, Hariharan etc.
Uyire is a Tamil word for life, I believe. So he is addressing her as his life. As in ‘Oh my life, Oh my life’
Tamil speakers chime in.
1:45 that the beauty leaning Indian Carnatic classical my friend.
See the picturization of this song in the film Bombay. You will see the emotional depth music has added to the visuals
I am so proud of him because he is sing some sinhala songs...
The language that belongs to my country, sri lanka 🇱🇰......
he has really sweet voice
Hariharan stands out as a rare gem among similar voices, often causing confusion among devoted musicians when he performs on stage. Remarkably, he delivers the same song differently in various microtones across ten different stage renditions, showcasing remarkable variations. His repertoire spans across India in multiple languages, including Hindi and Tamil, as evidenced in this timeless song. The Tamil rendition features Hariharan and KS Chitra, while the Hindi version showcases Hariharan and Kavita Krishnamoorthy. Missing out on Hariharan's songs means missing some of the most cherished vocal memories in the world. Eagerly anticipating further reactions to Hariharan.
Music born in india no one can match on this planet hariharan sir voice god gifted epic vocalist no mj now joker foriner singer and new commer indian singer also❤
You might be familiar with “tu hi re” the hindi version. You should give the tamil version a listen too. The hindi version was sung by hariharan n kavita krishnamoorthy while the tamil version was sung by hariharan and ks chithra

He was part of one of India's early indie bands called Colonial Cousins. Please check them out.
Indian classical - it's the training that gives that control.
This song is from the film Bombay when Mumbai was called Bombay at that time this film was released on 1995 nearly 30 years now
I've listened and wqtched this concert of ARR more than a dozen times..It's so amazing..even listen to it during work hours

The transcendence of the ego results in the exposition of the resonant spirit. That's Indian music.
He was always amazing finally you react to him😍😍😍
❤ HARIHARAN ❤
Hariharan touches the core of your very being
I don't like high-pitched male voices.
He is an awesome singer. The young lady is also a good singer.
Hariharan is a living legend...if you want to listen to his Ghazals I recommend the album Halka Nasha...and check the studio version of this song from the movie Bombay.....❤❤❤
Halka Nasha is Kadhal Vedham in Tamil
Parts of the song are in many Indian languages.
uyirE - What is uyir?
uyir is what makes you alive. The moment it is gone, you are dead. It is not 'soul'.
The song starts in the oldest Indian language, namely Tamizh (Tamil).
The song is quintessentially Indian. And India has 220 different languages and 2200 dialects.
The song is the sound of 'soul' (uyir). The best of Indian songs come from 'uyir'.
You also call your sweet heart as 'uyir'. He is calling his sweet heart's 'uyir' to become part of his and become one.
Both singers are amazing !!! Brilliant!!!
Hariharan was in a duo with Leslie Lewis back in the 90s and they called themselves Colonial Cousins. The music is Pop Funk. Check it out.
Don't forget...orginal sang by this song...❤️❤️ks. Chithra... ❤️❤️
And they are switching between languages so seamlessly
The Legend Hariharan was born in 1955 Thiruvananthapuram Kerala

Indian music only presents perfection, specially if a singer is working with AR Rahman. Only the perfection makes it to the top.
You have checked him in one of your podcast singing kurukku siruthuvale.
If you haven't checked Hariharan ,then you missed most beautiful voice and talented singer of all time
The original from the movie BOMBAY is such a masterpiece
We in tamilnadu feel blessed to live in the same time period as the legend ILAYARAJA sir. Try reviewing his songs.....example songs from "mouna raagam"
