Regarding the comment by Kunal about NRIs being Hyper patriotic , I remember reading somewhere - Most Indians who migrate to other countries do so with the belief that they are better than the ones who are currently living here, they ingrain the belief in themselves that I'm better for so and so reason and I deserve better than what my country currently offers. Once they end up in a foreign country they have a very hard time assimilating there. More often than not cultural differences are very large and overwhelming for their cloistered upbringing and very few Indians are able to embrace the new culture and new experiences (this is more so true for the crowd which migrated in the 90s and early 2000s - now the information age is a great leveler , but in those days it was not. When it starts looking like the foreign culture has rejected them (which is actually other way around - but who would admit to their failure), the NRIs turn back to their home land and culture with renewed fervor and manic zeal which in turn becomes the foundation for their extremely strong opinions
its because 19 ear olds werent aware of the world, that we have 21 year old suicide bombers. innocence of childhood is a luxury that future generations cant afford. Kids are kinda well read and aware (sometimes) now a days, and they have to be. this was a pretty pedestrian take,in my opinion.
Daniel Fernandes and team, I am still at 10 minutes and I wish you went live with this one... It would have been hilarious to see the comments pouring in, alongside the video :)
Danny, the format is so informal because you guys are basically just talking about stuff so it'd seem much better if you even sat in a relaxed state. Table/chair makes it seem like you are very uncomfortable. Couch would be more chilled out, maybe. Pretty great tho!
That's a good point Simran, however for this season I'm going for a very rustic radio/podcast vibe. There's something about keeping it old school that I find very appealing. You'll see from the next episode on wards. Also, a couch etc makes the treatment more of a chat show than a podcast which is not what I'm going for at the moment. If it makes you feel better, we were all very comfortable in these chairs and had a lot of fun shooting this. Thank you for writing in :)
Daniel Fernandes Dude, get this www.flipkart.com/ccs-contour-laptop-notebook-skin-classic-series-1960-vinyl-decal-14/p/itme792ym3htfgej?lid=LSTLSDE792YH7HYEJCZDOSDCO&pid=LSDE792YH7HYEJCZ
I have watched all kinds of stand up comedy. In my opinion, comedians like Daniel Fernandes actually bring up hot topics worth debating on. (marital rape, student suicide, etc) So the only reason I comment on a serious note is coz even if their sketch is funny, it makes you think. They're intelligent and well written sketches and are made to be enjoyed by intellectuals. Who else agrees?
This hits homerun.... I'm 20 and we are in constant need of older people accepting us because we just want people to praise us...... we are not praised enough to be honest
I have a different take on Kunal's comment about the 16 year old writing a poem about marital rape. I haven't seen the poem recital being referred to here. I don't even know if the poem was good or had copied content. But based on what was discussed in the video, I'd like to put forth a point. While I agree with Kunal's observation that many youngsters form opinions without knowing enough about things, he's missing out one point of view. What if the 16 year old knew about marital rape? What if he/she has seen someone close to that person suffer? Like his/her mom or sister or someone else? The 16 year old could have gone through a lot at that age. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. I am someone who knew a lot about life at the age of 16 due to the circumstances I grew up in. Though I never wrote poems about it :) It could be someone who has been through things like that too.
Arjunlal B I second your thoughts, and according to Daniel Baba, we are that part of his fan following, who wouldn't come to attend his shows ever, and our opinion 'obviously' doesn't make a difference, and it's correct as well. Poor but loyal fans, Sir. ☺
No. I do not think they meant about people who write comments genuinely. They were referring to the ones who just post useless comments and fight in comments. As a matter of fact, I go to a lot of stand up shows :)
Arjunlal B I got your point regarding the comment thing, although I have never been to any stand up comedy show but then I would want to and Calcutta does seem to have quite a few shows lined up but then at this juncture I can't afford them, but will try to attend atleast one, someday. Even if he meant the other way around, he has his point, if you are good at something why do it for free or ponder upon those who wish to see fresh content without paying a penny for it. I guess I should wrap up this essay now, before it bores Daniel Baba to death.
I had the same thoughts, age is less of a factor when it comes to life experiences, it's more about how much one has been through. I guess 3 of them are being extremely prejudiced here.
Just a clarification, so that no one is confused, UA-cam commenters can (and do) buy tickets and go for the shows. Probably not the majority....but they do. Also, just so that this does not become a 30-40 comment string, I do.
If you've already seen the joke on youtube, you won't enjoy the live show. If you've already seen it on the live show, no point of watching it again in youtube.
koolpalb Any joke done in the UA-cam video is never done live after that again. So if you go to a club after watching UA-cam videos, you wont be disappointed at all.
07vaity true. I'm talking about the other side of the coin. I've mostly watched all the jokes of Daniel live. So, I mostly come here for the Podcast, etc.
5,10 years back 19-year-olds might not have to think all that social, intellectual things but today with so much going on in front of our eyes, We ought to have an opinion. Moreover, we are expected to have, there is that social pressure. A 16-year kid today hears, reads constantly about marital rape or something like refugee crisis every day so he will definitely have an opinion on it. PS. This show is cool! I did comment but I buy your show ticket as well. All the best for future episodes.
so, basically.. comedians can have an opinion (or not) and they shouldn't be criticized for it but a 21 y.o can't wear a t-shirt which says "save Aleppo"?
I think you're misconstruing his words a bit. His point was that a 21 y.o. should strive for changes around him first before going on a campaign to save Aleppo, which kind of makes sense. You change things around yourself first, which affect you directly. I hope I'm not generalising but a lot of teens I see form strong opinions without being well informed about facts, perhaps merely by along the prevalent Western "revolutions" or "campaigns". Don't mean to be offensive or prove you wrong, just putting up the other side of the argument. Edit: Last line
The fact that right now the information moves faster and reaches to younger ppl easily, its very different from what was it then In past i dont think the media was so much capable and was even interested into things Soecially since the rise in Islamophobia since 2003 this thing is even more seen now Even in the masses as well Kids are more susceptible to things like that than adults From their pov its like- kids shidnt b exposed to things like this, they shud live their life to the fullest I agree with them too But the fact that now life is more fast paced and u see in jobs in every other feild, the saturation is too much as well as the competency of ppl coming and competition So they cant understand these situations to fullest They dont mean bad , its just they dont understand how and why its happening from a bigger perspective
Your comment assures his point that youngster under influence are inclined to have an opinion to fit in !!!!......its not that they cant its just there are other important things to address!!!
People taking things personally or getting defensive is not about trust. It's simply inability to acknowledge another individual's experience different from their own. Ask any woman who's expressed a thought/opinion/fear on rape in presence of a male friend and received an indignant-hands-on-hips "not all men". Same thing with any of the topics you've chosen to speak on (including this - thank you for your awesome work!).
I appreciate Daniel because of his intellectual comedy. And he maintained it in this podcast as well. There are no shitty jokes followed by fake laughs. Pure class. You're legend sir.
So I understand that you guys are against how people perceive your art and how they take you guys way too seriously while also judging young people about their opinions by taking what they are doing seriously . Isn't that just a little bit hypocritic. Though by the same logic even my comment is hypocritic because I am judging you for your complaining, by complaining. This comment has now become an example of a second degree irony.
Doveranalyst Thanks but the thing is my point is we should not complain about anyone's opinion and if we shame Daniel for his opinion then we are no better, having said that I acknowledge the fact that someone might get discouraged by anyone's opinion is a valid point. The only solution is if everyone realises that if we did anything that is "OK" with everyone that stuff is going to be very boring, so let everyone do everything, try not to put them down and see if we can minimise the damage later.
not second degree irony bro.just simple irony.your judgement regarding their hypocrisy may/may not be correct but it definitely is non 2nd -degree- ironic (according to your premise of the irony in this case), since this is a podcast and the understanding between the viewers and the comedians here seems to be that "this is not a bit/set.this is probably my true opinion.i'll seep in a bit of humour though".so the content here (in my opinion) can rationally be subjected to scrutiny and criticism at a level far beyond the average goofy stand up bit.
things I liked: 1. Made sense whatever they discussed 2. Honest AF 3. didn't try to be politically corrupt thinks I hated: 1. It was not funny as such (most of it) 2. Lack of energy I felt everyone was quite lathergic
My solid inspiration KUNAL SIR. I FOLLOWED YOU I COULDN’T STOP. YOU SHOWED ME LIGHT IN A VERY INTELLIGENT WAY. GOD BLESS FOR COMEDIANS FOR YOU. I RESPECT YOU SO SO MUCH
It's good to see the casual part of comedians, people would understand comedians don't always talk in jokes. It's difficult to make content and express it! Learn to appreciate the hard work that goes into the smallest of sets!
Mr. Daniel you are an amazing comedians and I saw all your work on and off UA-cam. Comedy doesn't have boundary when yoh did beef jokes we Lough but never question our view on politics and never compare comedy with politics, when you do jokes we laugh when they do jokes we cry... anyway great episode
Back then, 16 year olds were not talking about marital rape because they didn't even know such issues exist. It's only recently that we have publicly started discussing about it through all kinds of medium including stand up comedy. When kids consume such content, it is but natural for them to talk about it and discuss these issues with their peers. In fact its good that they are sensitive about it and are willing to talk about in public.
I don't really think it makes sense that a 21 year old won't have a political statement. or know a particular language well, or to use it well to present what they have made or their art. it's a form of ageism. we didn't have knowledge back then when we talked about inzimam etc, in this age everyone is informed, forced or not. people feel humane towards say Aleppo or whatever. and they want it to be represented in what they say or do. 21 or 19 doesn't make a difference. you'll see 18 year olds making movies winning Cannes and stuff commenting on both sexuality and political climate. people are just more informed than earlier, and a conscious mind can form an opinion, no matter the age. a 16 year old can understand that raping your wife shouldn't be the law of the land.
hey guys awesome video was waiting to see Danny and kunal in some video also I haven't saw any of anu's video but will definitely watch now. Danny bring abhishek upmanyu in your show
at 21 people can top an exam which needs, at least, as much understanding as a comedian of socio-economic-political issues. daniel, your videos on Syria, marital rape, capital punishment were all quite well researched, but this attitude (@ 15 min) is not appreciable, from my point of view. And Anu Mam, certain things are in fact thrust on 19 year olds and increasingly so.
just my observation/experience there are only .0.01% people in world with their own views, thoughts, opinions, etc either right or wrong and the rest 99.9% are only capable of following or getting influenced by them n majority tends to choose bad one.so ignore them and keep going.you guys are amazing.
I belong to 90s generation.... LOL i really thought you were part of our 90s.... damn you started in 2004.... I loved lolakutty and really loved you as Anu Menon too.... just waiting for your next video And Kunal Komra I am Indori bro..... but yeah i like your style of jokes,,,, keep it on.....
Lola kutty I use to watch you show and happy to see you after so many days. Yes would love to see Lola kutty once again Daniel sir you are one of my favorite stand up. :)
+Ankit Sharma haha yea, games are not for me. This podcast is for interesting conversations with interesting people. We're going to cover a range of topics based on stuff people are saying and what's happening in the world. :)
Hey Danny it would awesome to see a few more on demand stand up comedians sharing their experiences about how they made it to the stand up scene, what they had to go through, their first time experiences, etc.
Well as jeff bridges would say, 'that's just like, your opinion man'.and speaking of opinions, how old would one have to be to form one? I can start quoting the usual whatsapp forwards about child prodigies or young revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh and che guevara.Well i guess my point is, the world is a conflicting place to live in and it's best you form your opinions early on.I felt more deeply about things at 18. Now at 26,issues like marital rape and child abuse don't shock me as much- it's just the cherry on top of all the fuckery we have inflicted on each other.Anyway, how old do you have to be to know the difference between wrong and right? So kudos to that kid who wrote the poem about marital rape, we need more people who give a shit about something. And Daniel, you also give a shit about something, It's something I admire about your standups. So don't hide behind the 'i was just kidding man'. Yes a lot of people hate their jobs, yes you said it, so own up to it.And of course you will be scrutinised for your opinions, you are going on stage and speaking them out.Its a weak argument if you respond with 'so why did you watch it ya,I didnt force you to'
A 16 year old talking about marital rape was his choice of selecting a topic that attracts audience' attention and appreciation. But I'm sure he knows nothing about it. (He may know if his family (God forbid) has gone through it). But a 21 year old comes up with a topic of Saving Aleppo is possible. Possibly he likes history!! Nevertheless, Comedy is just comedy. If a comedian is making fun of someone or something you like, just be a sport and ignore it. I personally feel that Danny, you're a Father of Sarcasm!! :D
Dude, the name of this podcast should be "coaching classes for standup audiences" lol. Loved this one......... r u going to do it monthly? ....anyway gud initiative....... love u as always....
Anu, Danny and Kunal keep doing the good work.... I really enjoy watching all u guys perform at individual level. The podcast was decent and could be better if it could cover more comments or those comments which actually impacted you for the next gig.
Danny I love your work.... for me your content is always great... It's sad that I can't attend your live shows coz I m from Pakistan living in France but keep up the good work love from paris.....
Hi Daniel, I totally agree with you on the say that for people who do not understand stand-up/comedy they feel offended but only with something that they are going through themselves and you just said something that they cannot deal with... For ex. If Kunal ka patriotismwala stand-up is seen by someone who has no understanding of his work and has lost someone close in the battle of Siachen {RIP} then they would not laugh on it they way I have or shown to other people and shared the laugh... I do understand that every person has a different sentiment and sometimes a passing joke might just hurt you, but there is no personal hate of the artist with you is what people need to understand and to be frank the artist does not even know you so everyone need to chill on this and listen to stand-up for relaxation or laughter, not to get bites to tweet or comment ... You stand-up artist are doing a wonderful job and I can even understand what all shit you'll have to take from people for your hard-work, but keep it up, you do have silent listeners like me to keep appreciating your work without letting anyone know... :-) I apologies in advance if any of the above content seems to be not fit for pubic reading, but this is my first-ever youtube public comment as i felt the need for the same... P.s. @Kunal I am going to make my kids also listing to your stand-up on Siachen, maybe they wont understand but I will still be laughing on it, i truly loved it... TC...
Nice try Daniel, hope to see zakir sapan kenny on the show soon.. Podcast like these are really fun to watch when your guests have opinion about things so that you are not only one driving the show ahead single handedly
I loved the podcast. ..but I slightly disagree on the age barrier ,I believe some people may have some valid point or may be matured enough to have a conversation
I loved your previous videos coz they had the best content than all the other mindless comedy videos on UA-cam and your your energy. I tried to fully watch this video but I just couldn't. you are so low on energy. It just doesn't give good vibes or even the feeling that u really wanna do it. maybe next video will b interesting. 😊
the thing you said about russel peters video is awesome,it really tells that some of us can change (i wanted to say anyone can change but come on, we all know)
Hey Daniel! Its a nice take. I love podcasts because most of the content is improv and you guys are good at it. But I feel 45 min is a bit too long. May be get it down to 30 min?
To paraphrase and summarize, we are intellectually and creatively superior, the world is stupid and doesn't deserve us. Lets get funnier people and sit around a table with them and judge people based on their comments on youtube videos because I have no content of my own.
bro, don't get me wrong but it went a bit more serious then it should have , it seemed more like a discussion , cause audience are more used to sng and AIB doing podcasts , try to keep it more light. just a suggestion.
just because someone is older than me that doesn't mean that their opinion has more validity than mine , does it? I am actually sad hearing them say that because these guys are in a way a representation of the youth but then these guys taking youth lightly just makes them like our parents. Modern comedians bullshit!

I'm surprised that nobody took offence to your use of the name 'Bombay'...yet. :-D
Roll the 2000 note tight.. Just me or did no one else notice the intro, Man like Danny talking about the sniffles ?
Bhai Delhi kab aarha h?
Kunal doesn't looks like kunal when he takes his glasses off 😂

Thanks Binati. If I get a good enough response for season 1, I'll definitely do a live version in season 2.
All my eyes see is Season 2... Can't wait for the rest of this one and the next (and the next...) :)
Looking forward to more episodes and season 2

I appreciate Daniel because of his intellectual comedy. And he maintained it in this podcast as well. There are no shitty jokes followed by fake laughs. Pure class. You're legend sir.
This is like one of the softest podcast I've seen ,based on just the volume and laughter . Crank it up a notch man!!!!!!
Vishal Shasi i second that. Daniel should speak faster sometimes.

Yes. Both of them and more lined up for season 1 :)
I am not gonna miss even one episode. Raw and unabashed comedians.
things I liked:
1. Made sense whatever they discussed
2. Honest AF
3. didn't try to be politically corrupt
thinks I hated:
1. It was not funny as such (most of it)
2. Lack of energy I felt everyone was quite lathergic

siyachen mein humare Jawan ladrrae hain
Great sound quality, thank you for releasing it on soundcloud too! :D
Mr. Daniel
you are an amazing comedians and I saw all your work on and off UA-cam.
Also 18 year old is expcted to use voting right ans chpse the future of the country but cant have a political opinion
😂
just a thought - do guys in their 50s think that all the 30 year comedians are kids and have no knowledge of the real world?
not defending that 16 year old. haven't even watched that video.
Yes old generation always talk shit about new generation for centuries not a new thing
Yes 100% they think like that even everyone thinks like that
Humans are very ignorant
The reason why people don't comment on politician videos is the same reason why some comedians don't make political jokes cause we are scared😂😂.
its nice to see you back daniel...:)
It's nice to be back :)
Happy to see Daniel for so long finally
long wait.... finally a video...and a nice concept.
Thus born a legend
Its a new format, kinda cool. It also depends on how other people and danny put their view on issues irrespective of being funny. Kudos Danny
Kunal looking cute. He look smart now !!! Slim and smart
hey guys awesome video was waiting to see Danny and kunal in some video also I haven't saw any of anu's video but will definitely watch now.
Thanks, Doveranalyst, will surely do
I loved this and I can't wait for more. Please get Biswa, Kenny, AIB, Kanan, SNG and Zakir Khan here too!
I'm 19 & this is hilarious.
Spid Music you being 19?
Dhiresh Jain hahahahahahhahahahahaha
Dhiresh Jain unconsciously type kardiya but now I'll pretend like I did it purposely just to be funny 😂😂
#honestcomment
Okay so this is a meme now...... Or it was then?
just my observation/experience
there are only .0.01% people in world with their own views, thoughts, opinions, etc either right or wrong and the rest 99.9% are only capable of following or getting influenced by them n majority tends to choose bad one.so ignore them and keep going.you guys are amazing.
Daniel please get the podcast back.P.S I'm tired of binge watching these episodes again and again;)))
Very well analysed. Many dont understand the fun or pun in stand up. Stand up is for a niche and intelligent crowd. For others there is Kapil Sharma.
Hey @Daniel Fernandes: These podcasts are on point. Enjoy all podcasts from AIB's, SNG to Kunal Kamra's. However, this stuff is top of the pops!!!
Great one bro. Good to see no shitty games played. More interesting (real world problem) topics, maybe for the ep2?
+Ankit Sharma haha yea, games are not for me. This podcast is for interesting conversations with interesting people. We're going to cover a range of topics based on stuff people are saying and what's happening in the world. :)
Please come to the UK, waiting to see you here!
Comedy on a serious note, calm, thoughtful & relaxed. Great content
the moment when daniel asked everyone to comment and share their opnions 😅
Hey Danny it would awesome to see a few more on demand stand up comedians sharing their experiences about how they made it to the stand up scene, what they had to go through, their first time experiences, etc.
lovely to see you after long time
Well as jeff bridges would say, 'that's just like, your opinion man'.and speaking of opinions, how old would one have to be to form one? Yes a lot of people hate their jobs, yes you said it, so own up to it.And of course you will be scrutinised for your opinions, you are going on stage and speaking them out.Its a weak argument if you respond with 'so why did you watch it ya,I didnt force you to'
Daniel & Kunal in one frame. mera jeevan safal ho gaya!!
thanks man,now I have a better sense of comedy, and youtube comments too
A 16 year old talking about marital rape was his choice of selecting a topic that attracts audience' attention and appreciation.
Eagerly waiting for the next episode!!
This guy is awesome! Relevant topics and unique material... keep up the good work dude!
was waiting for long time Daniel to show up
Please continue the series . awesome
Keep on going guys! Kunal is a like Virat Kohl to the comedy world - will pay heaps to watch this guy do comedy :)
I enjoyed this podcast. keep doing it regularly if possible.
Dude, the name of this podcast should be "coaching classes for standup audiences" lol. Loved this one......... r u going to do it monthly? ....anyway gud initiative....... love u as always....
Weekly. New episode every Monday 10 pm
Anu, Danny and Kunal keep doing the good work.... I really enjoy watching all u guys perform at individual level. The podcast was decent and could be better if it could cover more comments or those comments which actually impacted you for the next gig.
Keep bringing more and more of this good stuff. :D
great episode... looking forward to more of these
loved your first episode.
would love to see more.
Danny I love your work.... for me your content is always great... It's sad that I can't attend your live shows coz I m from Pakistan living in France but keep up the good work love from paris.....
Nice work Danny, keep up the good work!
wow i'm big fan of both of you guys Daniel n Kunal
Hi Daniel,
I totally agree with you on the say that for people who do not understand stand-up/comedy they feel offended but only with something that they are going through themselves and you just said something that they cannot deal with... :-)
I apologies in advance if any of the above content seems to be not fit for pubic reading, but this is my first-ever youtube public comment as i felt the need for the same...
P.s. @Kunal I am going to make my kids also listing to your stand-up on Siachen, maybe they wont understand but I will still be laughing on it, i truly loved it... TC...
Nice to see Kunal in 1st episode ... !!!
I was almost expecting him to start with an Aussie accent! One person who does not have a fake accent after visiting another country for a month :3
yaaay!!! excited for it!!! Danny
good job man.. loved it. keep going. cheers.
people have started taking comedians seriously coz they portray more sensible views than many intellects in power.
Nice try Daniel, hope to see zakir sapan kenny on the show soon.. Podcast like these are really fun to watch when your guests have opinion about things so that you are not only one driving the show ahead single handedly
Actually people love u n they feel good to be the first to lik or comment so that they get ur attention or u rep back
+Saalim Sayyed yeah we figured eventually. It's very endearing and appreciated :)
Daniel Fernandes great bro
I never thought i would get a rep back.....anyways bro
U r doin great and hope u achieve even greater heights👍
it's nice and genuine conversation. not forcefully making it sarcastic
Arre sirji vo note ka kya hua. Agle episode me plzz bataaiyega.
bahut tough sir. I read both ghosts and angels. Very tough discussions. But I let them talk. I listened very patiently .
the thing you said about russel peters video is awesome,it really tells that some of us can change (i wanted to say anyone can change but come on, we all know)
As a 15 year old, this is hilarious.
Hey Daniel! Its a nice take. I love podcasts because most of the content is improv and you guys are good at it. But I feel 45 min is a bit too long. May be get it down to 30 min?
Daniel, which shoes are you wearing? I love them. Please reply
First like, Dan!
Your guests are my favourites, too! :)
I'm 18 and I can have opinions. It's not like I'm a woman or anything.
vidhan matolia haha did u just mean woman don't have opinions?
shh... I don't want to explain the joke xD
Good one, gradually becomes interesting n fun, may b u can restrict to 30 mins
To paraphrase and summarize, we are intellectually and creatively superior, the world is stupid and doesn't deserve us. Lets get funnier people and sit around a table with them and judge people based on their comments on youtube videos because I have no content of my own.
I am 19 year old. What would be an ideal comment to make on this video ?
+kunal kamra when will your next video come up?
41:05 anu menon...u don't hate technology, u hate social media... they are two different things... nobody can hate technology...
Guys, where else can I find such hour long sensible podcasts ? Please suggest
Nikhil Kotamkar kunal's own show-shut up ya kunal, india today conclaves.
bro, don't get me wrong but it went a bit more serious then it should have , it seemed more like a discussion , cause audience are more used to sng and AIB doing podcasts , try to keep it more light. just a suggestion.
just because someone is older than me that doesn't mean that their opinion has more validity than mine , does it? I am actually sad hearing them say that because these guys are in a way a representation of the youth but then these guys taking youth lightly just makes them like our parents. Modern comedians bullshit!
